I was a little concerned when this rope arrived as the spool had been smooshed flat to fit into the shipping box. However, the rope is much softer and more pliable than I'd expected, not stiff like some jute rope. We'll be using this as a theater prop, and it will be great for that purpose as it's so easy to handle. It's made from 4 twisted strands with the ends wrapped to prevent undue fraying. The flexibility of the rope will make tying an eye splice pretty easy. The 1" size will be great for stage props.

This is good looking, large diameter rope that would work great for decorative uses. I have a collection of antique rope pulleys, and I’ll be using this to display some of them. The rope looks well made and while it’s clearly “new” rope, it still has the old-style look. This would also work well for things like a tug-of-war rope, but since this is made from a natural fiber, it’s not as strong as a modern nylon or polyester rope. Also, unlike synthetic fiber, it will eventually rot if left outside in damp conditions. The rope has no rating for working strength or breaking strength, but it certainly looks strong enough for something like a porch swing. Just inspect it every once in a while to make sure it’s not degrading from age.

The natural hemp rope is of excellent quality. The earthy scent tells you it's authentic hemp and not synthetic. Fifty feet gives plenty of length for endless projects, and the thickness adds to its strength and durability. The total weight of the rope I received was six pounds and nine ounces (including the plastic ties). I plan to use this for our outdoor chicken coop, creating a small playground with wood and rope for them to climb and perch. I will post pictures of the project when I have it completed. Great product!

This is a very good quality natural hemp rope. Its good for both functional and aesthetic applications. It's rated weight capacity is 220 lbs so you'll want to be careful what you use it for, but this is typical of hemp rope. It's much more suited to binding things together than for lifting heavy loads. I am using it as decoration for my outdoor patio to wrap around wooden posts and to hold LED string light fixtures. You could also make some heavy duty cat scratching posts out of this, which I may try since my cats absolutely love to tear up just about everything. Overall I think this rope is very high quality and a good value for the price.

Wow - a full 1" thick nature hemp rope in a 100' coil - nice product. This would be great for tug-of-war games, jump rope, and tons of decorating ideas! My intent was to use it for tree work though it is not strong enough for that, though it would be great for swings, hammocks, etc. This would also make one nice scratching post - for a large cat perhaps! I was a little surprised that such a nice product did not have the ends whipped or even taped - but the boy scout in me will fix that up in no time! I had to dig to find the breaking strength which surprisingly was only 220# and is shown in the first question at the bottom of the listing. This is a good product - just be wary of the limitations.

This is a really nice, light duty rope for use around the house and yard. It is very soft and has a natural appeal. I have used it to replace a playground climbing rope (with knots) and made a simple tree swing with it. It is a low cost way to get creative with back yard projects. I am curious as to how well it will tolerate the 4 seasons and time, I am not really optimistic regarding it's endurance. However, for the price and utility it provides it is still a product I can recommend for DIY projects.

This is your old-fashioned twisted rope that nearly everyone has gone away from. However, I really like this for projects making them look and feel much more authentic. My latest project will include using this to hang a large hand-hewn beam about four feet long with five pendant lights draping from it. I will not only hang the beam with this rope but also hang the lights from it intertwining the electrical cords within the twists of the rope concealing them. Hopefully when I complete this project I will come back and edit this review with accomplishment and photos. This rope is a great find and will add to any person's treasures.
