    • If reliability is a measure of quality, Jura fails miserably
This is an update to an earlier review, still shown below: I own two Jura Z8 machines. These are pricey. I liked the first one so much I bought a second machine about a year later. The first has never had a problem. The second has been repair prone. And the problem is multiplied many-fold by the sad fact that Jura's repair order system is totally broken. I mean FUBAR. So, if you want to roll the dice with your hard-earned cash and don't mind spending thousands for a door-stop for which Jura seem incapable of even sending a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for repair, let alone actually repairing in a way that lasts, have at it. Original: This is my second Jura Z8. I bought the first over a year earlier, and it was so good, I bought a second. The second machine has been in use for less than a year. It is used only intermittently, sometimes without use for a few weeks. I immediately noticed that the base did not fit properly, and the mirrored top grate was wobbly. I called Jura and left a message. NEVER heard back. So I lived with it, despite the instability. I don't use the second one as much as the first, because it's in a second home. On multiple occasions it would not fill at first, and I was prompted to press the rotary button. In a few cases, twice, once after the other. I should note that I am scrupulous about cleaning the milk system and the machine. And despite written claims that using a filter eliminates the need to to descale, I have been forced to descale both machines, even though I change the filters immediately upon prompting. The machine also prompts to clean the milk system after making ONE milk drink. ONE. This is insane. If I did this, I would be cleaning the milk system a half-dozen times in the morning. Now the second (NEWER) Z8 doesn't work. The screen is not responsive and I cannot make a cup of coffee or milk foam. WORSE YET, Jura is also NOT RESPONSIVE. I willing to stay on hold, but after holding awhile, I was forced into voicemail. So... Two units. One is a lemon. And customer service is so far - abysmal. ZERO. At these prices, it is simple inexcusable. ... show more

This machine does everything and is so easy to use. I wish it costed less but the payback is less than a year if you like good coffee, perfect coffee drinks.

    • Terribly Made DO NOT BUY
We bought the Jurz Z8 3 months ago. It worked beautifully for a few months and the the problems set in. Frothing problems with the milk, then the coffee started to taste funny and now the grinder will not grind beans. I have literally spent hours trying to get a simple latte. Several days when I wake up to get my coffee the machine simply doesn't work and I spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to get it to work. We have tried everything to get this recent problem fixed and have had zero luck. For a machine that costs over $4,000 I would expect it to last for several years. Whatever you do, Do NOT waste your money on this machine as there are many other machines out there that are more reliable than the Jura. ... show more
