This is my wife second one in 18 years. what is there to say. You can purchase the cheapest beans possible and they still taste better than anything you will buy at .......... fill in the blank. They are expensive for coffee but if you truly love -like coffee, look no further than this

I own 3 Jura machines at different locations and replaced one with this newer model. It was nothing but trouble from the first day. The French Roast beans would get stuck in the grinder and nothing would grind and the directions of use were too complicated. This model also does not take pre-ground coffee for when you need to offer decaf to someone. I replaced this model with the E4 and it is fantastic. ... show more

We bought this and price kept dropping and amazon refused to make price adjustments, so I kept returning them until I got lowest price... leveraging the "free returns"... but I'd prefer Amazon adjust price if it drops within 30 days like most retailers (Home Depot for example). Enough about Amazon the Jura D6 is amazing machine considering how fantastic the coffee is, and all the features. (don't bother with bluetooth stuff useless since it requires physical switch to do frothed milk). The ONLY problem I had was one I read about. Folks stated that french roast beans would not feed properly. Generally I only use Kicking Horse coffee (Kick Ass and Decaf blended). I do something some purists will hate... I freeze the beans. Folks say you shouldn't and the real issue is moisture.... so if you freeze them it has to be AIR TIGHT. I use glad slide lock freezer bags and squeeze all the air out. I have NEVER not once had any problem with beans feeding.... UNTIL I ran out of my Kicking Horse coffee and bought ONE bag of Star Bucks French Roast. When I opened the bag the beans seamed very oily. Within 2 cups the feeder was NOT working. I gave the rest away to a neighbor when my Kicking Horse coffee arrived... it still had a little problem feeding for about a week ( ~ 1.5lbs of beans going though ). After a week its working perfectly. The oily texture of Star Bucks beans is what disrupts the feeder. So what I can tell you is that STAR BUCKS french roast beans will NOT work in this machine. If you like french roast, try Kicking Horse Kick Ass beans. They have a decaf version as well... this machine makes coffee so good I drink 2x as much so I use 50% Kick Ass and 50% decaf.... mix them together and freeze in an AIR TIGHT bag. Never been happier. Everyone who comes over loves the coffee and cappuccinos and never turns down a cup. ... show more

I previously owned a Jura machine from 2004-2010. Could not tell you the model but I absolutely loved it. When it finally broke I've tried everything over the past decade...pour over, cold brew, drip, perc, French press, Keurig and Nespresso. All have their advantages and flaws but it boiled down to this; if you want a single cup of hot coffee, ground fresh, strong with a nice crema and you don't want to jump through hoops to do it....you'll have to get one of these machines. PROS- The coffee is hot and outstanding. Both the strength and volume can be adjusted to your taste. The cappuccino is also outstanding; very easy ,the milk froth is very fine , heats up quickly and cleanup is quick. I would describe the espresso as good, but nothing special. My wife and I only like the occasional espresso, so it works well for us. For just under $1000, highly adjustable and programmable and uses an adjustable burr grinder.. We are empty nesters, and do about 5 or 6 drinks a day. The bean hopper (about 7 oz) last quite a while before refill, as does the 64 oz water tank. The machine heats up quickly from the off position and dispenses your drink of choice quickly. Essentially cleans itself and looks nice on the counter. CONS- Instructions are not good. You pretty much need to play with the machine on your own to figure out the settings, which are not particularly user friendly. Buttons, knobs and overall feel is somewhat cheap and plastic. Knobs dial to your desired setting via a 90's looking LED screen without snapping into place. Would like to see a little more metal. Overall however, the PROS far outweigh the CONS. The machine does exactly what I purchased it for and does it well. And once you figure out the settings and make them permanent, it is easy to use. Very happy with it. ... show more

What I love about it: -It makes the perfect cappuccino!! -It's easy to pre-set the size and strength of your coffee as well as the amount of milk -The milk for the cappuccino is amazing! What I don't love: - Tall cups don't fit even with the adjustable height of the dispenser. - When you're in a hurry you better make sure you got your tray empty, water tank filled and grounds filled because I get annoyed when it's telling me to do that when I don't have time. -You have to keep the milk dispenser clean! I rinse it out after every use which is a process the way I do it (Instead of taking off the tube and rinsing it off I put water into a small cup and turn the milk function on. This heats it up and runs the water just as it would do with the milk.) The milk will not froth if you don't help it clean. I also bought the milk dispenser cleaner and use that once in a while. -It is quite loud which doesn't bother me at all but wanted to point that out. If you use tall coffee cups/mugs... they don't fit under the spout. It doesn't come with milk container, just the hose to put in whatever milk container you chose. We upgraded from a smaller unit and the D6 is quieter with a larger water tank capacity which is nice.
