My original under-cabinet lights finally died so I did some online research and came up with these as a replacement. I liked that I could choose a warmer LED color instead of bright white. They arrived quickly, as promised. Unfortunately, the dimmer switch was broken out of the box, but everything else looked fine. My dad was only visiting for one day so we had to install them before I could try to return/exchange the set. I figured I could just use them without the dimmer switch, as the lights are on an outlet that is controlled by a wall switch anyway. My dad is very handy but had a little trouble installing these due to limited (and very tiny print) instructions, but we figured it out through trial and error. The problem was less with the lights and more with the connectors we had to buy to make 90 degree turns. One straight line would have been a breeze to install! Anyway, we got them all up and they look great! Even with having to move some strips around, they are sticking just fine with no sagging. The lights are brighter than my old ones so the dimmer is necessary after all. I contacted the seller yesterday and received a prompt and apologetic response that they are sending me a new dimmer switch--and it already shipped out! I'm impressed with the seller's customer service! They want you to be happy with their product! So far, I do love the product and will love it even more when I can dim as needed. There is about a one-second delay between flipping the switch on and seeing the light (which was not the case with my old ones), but it's not a big deal. They turn off immediately with the flip of the switch. I highly recommend these lights and hope to enjoy them for years to come.

I purchased these lights to install under my rooftop tent and inside of my trailer cabinets. I know I wanted something waterproof, warmer color, dimmable, 12v, and low power usage. This product solved each one. Granted, I only installed them a few days ago so I can't speak about the waterproof-ness of it yet. The install went great and it was simple to do. The back has 3M double sided tape; one of the top choices. In addition to the 3m, I used a little PL400 because the surfaces have a rough painted finish on steel and other stickers don't stick. So far, this is holding up great. On the cuts, I put heat shrink tubing on the end with a tab of hot glue to make it more waterproof, just in case. I also purchased plugs to solder to the ends, just like the factory plugs. I have nothing to compare it to, but I thought the power usage was a bit high. I want to say that with about 13' of lights, I get about 1ah of battery depletion. I have this hooked up to a 12v, 100ah LiFePO4 battery. Maybe this is normal for lights in this category. I was just thinking LED are energy efficient and the SMD2835 are some of the most efficient LED's. Despite the power usage, I ordered a second pair to continue with my project and it was identical to the first with build quality.

These arrived a week ago and I plugged them in immediately. I noted that it took about 2 seconds for the lights to light but they did. I was very concerned about the temp on the power brick for the lights as I didn't want them to get ridiculously hot. Then..... I forgot about them for 2 days but not no purpose. I am using these as lights for a guinea pig habitat that I built for my daughter and it was still under construction. When I went in the room that I plugged them in I realized my mistake and immediately grabbed the power brick to see if it was hot. Much to my surprise it did not feel much hotter than room temperature. I took the pic with an infrared thermometer that is attached and you can see its not too hot at all! The light roll was much hotter with all those LED's tightly packed in. I pulled out a few feet of the roll and waited about 5 minutes and you can see they are not that hot at all either. The color is good, could be a little warmer. The phone camera doesn't do the color or brightness any favors as its constantly auto adjusting so you can't get a real sends of them. The color is yellowish and the brightness is more than enough for my purposes though I don't think they would light up a large area very well at night. These are more for mood lighting in those types of situations. All in all very pleased with this purchase! Very pleasantly surprised.

I couldn't find any l.e.d. backlight kits for TV's that either weren't cool white or too short or didn't dim etc. I purchased these and I am very pleased. These are water proof (sealed in a gel coating) so if you grab TV you are insulated from electronics even though it's only 12v. I was concerned about the self adhesive backing being strong enough but I found it to be high tack ( I cleaned back of tv with alcohol first ). Just in case I also purchased some 3M 30lb double stick tape but I didn't use it. I also purchased some 'L' connectors made for cutting and rejoining l.e.d. strips but instead I was confident enough in the self adhesive that I simply bent the strip and let it bulge out at corners. Doing a 75" screen I had enough to go all the way around needing to cut off 6" of extra to finish. Dimmer works very well, takes a moment to turn on, but is very smooth throughout it's range of brightness. (to adhere dimmer to back of TV I did use the 3M 30lb double stick instead of the provided gel double stick). Photos make light look harder than it really is. If I pull TV away from the wall a bit it looks even better. Later I will add a wi-fi switched plug upstream from dimmer to be able to turn on & off from phone or set a time. I will definitely consider buying this product again for other projects.
