UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: The rug looked cute for a month or so but now it has flattened tremendously and the shag threads are all separated. Vacuuming doesn't help. Washing and drying might revive it but I'm afraid the rug will fall apart. Overall it's cheap and it isn't actually a rug, more like a fuzzy mat. At this point, I can't recommend it. ******** Original review: I ordered this rug in Grey/Purple and received it vacuum-sealed. The rug instantly fluffed up once out of the packaging. It is extremely lightweight and the velvet material is very soft. The velvet is, however, very slick so I would not recommend allowing children to run across it. The rug also doesn't stay put very well so a non-slip mat might be required if this is placed in a high-traffic area. Overall I'm happy with the purchase but I think the pricing should be lowered based on the quality. ... show more

First, it came in a vacuum seal, letter size baggie. I know how this works, lay it out, don't touch it, let it rise. Here is the thing.. it really didn't. After 4 days, no one touching it, all It looks like is a shaggy small mop on the floor and little purple fuzz everywhere.... nothing like the picture. Really wanted to like this because I love that it is oval. Going to put it in the basement in front of the washer and dryer. Certainly not the quality for a bedroom. ... show more

    • Went from silky and soft to looking like a murdered muppet after washing

*update* After my cat vomited on the rug I had to wash it. I followed the washing instructions, then laid it out to dry. Now instead of being silly and soft, it looks like I murdered a Muppet. I figured it would have about the same thickness as a bathroom memory foam mat, but this is so thin I would be surprised if there was any cushion at all. I gave it a full day to warm up from the cold and still nothing. That said, the shag is very soft and nice on my feet. It's a beautiful color and for the money, it's a fairly nice rug. It should easily fit in the wash and i'm fairly happy with the purchase. I would like a thicker rug for the winter, but this was cheap enough to be a nice decoration for the guest bedroom. ... show more

I can only put this down for "company" - the reason being the rug must be hand washed and hang dried. It’s really large and you get a lot for your money. I also have a small dog and I can just see her sniffing the new thing in our home, then mark it with pee and walk away. I can’t remember ever buying anything other than clothes that need to be hand washed and hung to dry. I guess until I actually wash & dry it, I can’t say how well it will fluff up. Instead of the floor - I laid it on my bed and the dog sleeps on it. It’s not at all like "faux fur" but a thick, fuzzy blanket. Has a good backing - not too stiff. It would work possibly in a guest room or low traffic area. Even a throw on an ottoman - squared corners would look less like a rug in that situation. Still, it’s a rug, hand wash only and white..Not great if you have a per that leaves it’s business card on strange, new things that appear in the house. Very, very soft. ... show more

I wasn't expecting much for this rug at under $20. Although it came vacuum shrunk in heavy plastic bag, it was shipped in a box, because it was way too large (thick) for an envelope (even when shrunk). It unfolded nicely in seconds and shows no signs of folds or wrinkles. It did have a very mild smell for a very short time (few minutes) once the package was opened (if you stuck your nose in the rug). The rug has a thick bathmat like foam backer that the soft fluffy layer is attached to. The colored fluffy surface is very fine and has a delicate feel to it. This fluffy color portion is thicker and resists crushing/matting down much better than I expected. This was purchased as a color accent run for a child's room. They love it and enjoy lounging on it. The vibrant "Teal Blue" color which is a perfect match for the other teal items in their room. After a week, there has been zero shedding, no lose stitches, no fibers or fuzz falling out, etc. It is still very soft and squishy to walk on. Considering other soft bathroom type rugs/mats we've had over the years, this is very well made. I think this rug will last a long time. My only concern would be how to clean it. It is so fluffy, I'm scared to run a regular vacuum cleaner over it. Since no shoes will ever walk on it, we'll probably just go with a handheld battery vacuum as necessary. ... show more

I bought a blue oval rug first and i love it. Its full and made well so i purchased a second one in white. The backing in the same but it the sewing on it is pretty bad. It wont lay flat. I still like these because they feel great on my feet and they're easy to wash.

Very happy with this rug. Super soft material and the length fits perfectly by the side of my bed. It’s not thick as shown on the pictures , it’s actully pretty thin but that’s not an issue for me.
