  • Still Love It After 3 Years
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
I bought this rebounder 3 years ago & still love it! I'm a 32-year-old woman with a lot of different health problems. Even though I haven't used it every single day it still has gotten a lot of use & has held up well. Below are my pros (+), cons (-), & tips. + WEIGHT LOSS Within minutes I can get my heart rate up & keep it up. Due to muscular problems this is the only exercise I get besides typical daily walking. When I first started rebounding 3 years ago I lost weight. I rebounded 4-5 times a week for 30 minutes & changed my diet. I went from 160 pounds to 120 pounds in under 6 months with rebounding as my only exercise. It also helps to tone/tighten your muscles. My stomach, thighs, & arms would jiggle when I first started rebounding but after awhile I noticed the jiggling had basically stopped. +DETOXES LYMPHATIC SYSTEM This is one of the only ways to detox the lymphatic system besides massage & dry body brushing. If you Google all the benefits of lymph detox you can see an extremely long list of benefits rebounding contributes to. + IMPROVES DIGESTION When I first started rebounding I would often have to stop & take a bathroom break. From someone who often experiences constipation due to IBS rebounding has helped me become more regular & has helped stimulate my digestive system. + CORRECTS POSTURE I lead a very sedentary life due to my job which has caused poor posture. When I rebound I make sure to stand tall with my shoulders back, scapula drawn down, & abs in. This has greatly helped correct my posture & I can sometimes hear a popping sound in my neck/back as the rebounding forces everything back to where it should be. + EASY ON JOINTS/KNEES I have knee pain & popping joints. Most of the time I have no issue rebounding but my knees do hurt sometimes. If they hurt I'll just bounce gently instead of jumping. I've heard the cheaper models with springs tend to aggravate knee problems which is one of the reasons I wanted to purchase a model with bungee cords. + QUIET The bungee cords make rebounding fairly quiet. I live in an apartment with really thin walls which is another reason I wanted to buy this model. There's still a little bit of noise when your feet hit the mat but the cords are extremely quiet. This is particularly helpful when I have a bout of insomnia & decide to bounce for awhile. + FUN I can honestly rebound for an hour without realizing it (as long as I have music). I criss-cross my legs; do jumping jacks; bounce; jump; walk; jog; add arm exercises; stand on my tiptoes for calves; do ab exercises; etc. Because it's fun & because it's easy to access right in my very own apartment I'm more willing to work out. The more willing I am to work out the better the results! + EASY TO ASSEMBLE This was very simple to put together. Instructions were clear & all the necessary parts were included. The mat is one piece & is already mounted to the frame with the bungee cords. The 6 feet then need to be attached to the frame & that's it unless you want to adjust the bungee cords. If you order the handle bar then you won't need 2 of the feet they provide. I just threw the extra feet in a junk drawer in case I ever needed them. Once it's put together it won't fit through a typical doorframe so make sure to put it together in the room you want to keep it in. I keep it in my bedroom but if I had space I might keep it in my living room & watch TV while rebounding. + STURDY After 3 years of weekly use it's still holding up strong. There have been weeks here & there when I haven't rebounded at all either due to health or travel. I've had no issues at all with the mat, legs, & handle bar (sold separately). The cords, however, are slowly starting to wear away. That being said, none of them have ever broken/snapped after 3 years of use. There are a few that are starting to look worse for wear so I'll probably swap those out with the few replacement cords that already came with the rebounder. - NON-FOLDING This model can't be folded so it does take up quite a bit of space. However, I use the handle bar as a drying rack for my wet laundry at night. I know it may sound weird but I also use my rebounder as a seat sometimes. I don't personally care that it takes up space but I wish I could travel with it. - HANDLE BAR NOT INCLUDED You have to buy the handle bar separately. I would highly recommend buying it. My balance was really bad when I first started rebounding. If I hadn't been able to use the bar I wouldn't have continued due to fear of falling off. I no longer use the bar very much while rebounding although I do sometimes lose my balance & need to grab it if I'm jogging or something. I just wish it was a package deal especially since the bar is so expensive by itself. - FUTURE BUNGEE CORD REPLACEMENT My bungee cords are not going to last forever. I don't look forward to replacing them. When that happens I'll update my review. I do a weekly examination of my rebounder, looking at each cord, to make sure it's safe to use. - PRICE It's one of the more expensive models, though not the most expensive. When I purchased it 3 years ago it was $199. With the bar it ended up being around $270. At that time I had the money to purchase it & don't regret it. I'm trying to convince my sister to buy one but she's hesitant about the price. All of my family regularly use my rebounder when they visit & she loves it. TIP: START SLOWLY This will detox your lymphatic system so you don't want to detox too quickly & put unnecessary strain on your organs. The first week just bounce/jump lightly in 5-10 minute increments. Slowly work your way up to 15-20 minutes, then 30 minutes, etc. TIP: USE THE HANDLE BAR If you have balance issues or are just starting out I'd suggest using the handle bar to help maintain balance. There have been a few times I've almost fallen off from jumping a little too enthusiastically but I've always grabbed the bar & been fine. TIP: WEAR LOOSE CLOTHES & SHOES I typically rebound in my sports bra, underwear, socks/shoes. I do that so I don't have to wash dirty workout clothes & because the more you jiggle the more it will tighten you up. Also, I over-pronate so I have to wear shoes. I would recommend wearing shoes regardless. TIP: USE A PEDOMETER Wear a pedometer to count your steps/jumps. I use the pedometer feature on my iPod to help set a goal for each session. I usually try to jump 3,000-5,000 times 4-5 days a week. Sometimes I'll do this in a single session, sometimes I'll spread it throughout the day in multiple sessions. It takes roughly 10 minutes to jump 1,000 times so about 30 minutes for 3,000 jumps. TIP: DON'T JUST JUMP I listen to music & switch my routine every song or every few songs. I'll jump for a few songs, jog for a song, do arm exercises for a song, jump for a few more, do abs for a song, etc. It makes it interesting & allows you to focus on different problem areas if need be. TIP: COMMIT TO SMALL INCREMENTS If rebounding for a long time is daunting to you then try to set yourself a different goal. Tell yourself you'll rebound for 5 minutes in the morning & at night. Or every time you go to the bathroom rebound for a few minutes. Those minutes here & there will add up & are easy to incorporate into your daily life. ... show more

  • Love it--most used piece of exercise equipment I've ever owned
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
I bought my Jumpsport trampoline a little more than a year ago and I am still so pleased with it! I'm 5'3" and weigh about 145lbs. and I work out on it about 4-5 days a week for about half an hour. I am 40 and I was looking for a low-impact cardio tool that wouldn't hurt my knees and joints. The hopping in aerobics classes is too hard on my knees, ankles, hips, and feet. It did take me a little while to build strength in my ankles and feet on this thing and that probably isn't the usual for everyone (I work on mine with bare feet). I started at about 10 minutes a session and gradually worked up. I still can't do some aggressive, deep bounces without my shins feeling sore, but I think that's probably fairly unique to me. It has been so beneficial to my health and I find that my endurance and strength has gone up in my legs, etc. I work on the 4th floor and find that it helps me have the endurance to climb the stairs faster than most folks and not be so terribly winded (still winded, but not as breathless as before). If you make sure you add arm movement--and specifically, movements that raise your arms above your heart--you'll greatly increase your cardio intensity. You may not want to do this until you feel very stable and used to the footing on this trampoline (I put the back of a straight-backed dining room chair against my trampoline to begin to steady myself when I was getting the hang of the jumping. It was cheaper than the rail accessory, but the rail handle would be a worthwhile purchase if you have balance issues). At first I checked out YouTube videos for ideas on jumping exercise variations or I just bounced if I was tired and wanted to be active while watching television, but the real fun began when I realized that adding some fun music with a good beat could make my workouts seem more fun, inspired movements of their own, and made me work a lot harder than I did without the music. I have found that I like dance-y aerobic movements that are less jerky and more flowing movement (also easier on your joints). I've been able to modify movements inspired by some of my old aerobic and exercise videos, adjusting footwork since the space is restricted and some movements aren't practical on a surface that isn't solid. I confess that I've never really liked exercise with repetitive movement like my elliptical--it's just boring and seems to take an eternity. The more I find ways to make this fun and interesting, the less I have to convince myself to get on it and use it. It has turned into a great stress relief after a long day of work and I am surprised that I even enjoy it many days when I think I'm too tired to get on it. Choose some music that inspires you and consider changing it up a little once in a while to something you wouldn't normally listen to. I think my all-time favorite is the best hits from the BeeGees (add some disco-like moves to your workout!) and other disco-era songs that were a bit before my time, but so much fun! I also love 80s rock and peppy songs from artists like TobyMac that have a great beat and feel-good lyrics. Something totally unusual for me was discovering Bhangra-style (think Bollywood) style music--it has a great beat and it's pretty fun even if I can understand the lyrics. I got a Hemalayaa DVD "The Bollywood Dance Workout" that has really fun music and movements that I can modify when I want to use the trampoline. Probably not for the guys, but the gals will probably enjoy it! One easy way to mix up your workout music is to add some favorite stations through [...]. I've added a "Bollywood workout" station that is fun when my usual needs a change of pace. It's a free way to try out workout music that you may not know if you like and keeps your Jumpsport workout interesting. Get creative--making sure you are extremely careful about your balance--but have some fun doing some dancier moves on this thing! If you like Zumba, try some modified Zumba moves for the smaller footprint. The more variation I have, the more areas of my body I can work out. I can feel the workout in my legs particularly, but if I get enough arm movement, I notice strength and flexibility building there too--and a much better cardio workout. My only gripe is that I'd love a wider jumping platform area just because I love to do movements that require as much space as possible, but I still find this model is perfectly adequate--especially for the price. I take good care of my equipment and my bungees have never broken and appear to be in very good condition still after more than a full year of use. The frame and platform are very well made and I think will last a long time with decent care. My brother liked mine so much that he has one too. He's taller than I am (I'm 5'3") and so he gets a little to close to an 8' ceiling with his jumps (having stronger guy legs, I think he gains more height in his jumps than I do)--he moved it out to the garage. Also, don't put this on tile floors or you could damage the stability of the grout with the bouncing--I use mine on a carpeted floor (which might be safer if you should fall or have to quickly dismount). I just lean mine up on it's side when I'm not using it so it's out of the way. If you want a piece of great workout equipment that offers versatility and makes you feel like a kid again, this is it! I'm still enjoying mine and think it's by far the best investment I've ever made in exercise equipment (I have an elliptical, Total Gym, free weights, bike, exercise DVDs, etc)! ... show more

  • All in one review!
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
The media could not be loaded. Update: I purchased this in February of 2013 and it is now June of 2014, so this update is well over a year now. At first I used this trampoline almost every day for about 4 months with no problems, afterwards I used it every now and again as I was busy with school and work. I have recently started using it consistently again and it is still going strong. I still have the extra cord that came with it which is nice. I am glad I purchased this and would recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy trampoline. My Review: Pros: 1. Almost completely silent bounce (This is great because I live on the second story and I feel great knowing I am not bothering the people downstairs. See the video attached for a demonstration) 2. Extremely easy install (10 min) (Probably the easiest installation I have ever done, comes with everything you need) 3. Very bouncy (I can bounce really high with this if I want to) 4. High quality materials (You can tell this is much better than the cheaper $40.00 trampolines you find in the store) 5. Spacious (This trampoline is larger than what I thought it would be) Cons: 1. Not so easy to transport (They addressed this with the folding version) 2. Poor product description (I had a difficult time comparing the differences between the trampoline models) Which trampoline is right for you? Unless you go to the JumpSport website and you are considering the higher priced models ($379.00+), the differences between the various JumpSport models are mainly, 1. The type of mats surrounding the trampoline 2. The ability to adjust firmness settings or not 3. The version of the elastic cords (Newer versions last longer apparently) 4. The ability to fold it for transportation Once you go into the higher priced models, you will see the mat sizes get slightly bigger. Please keep these factors in mind when deciding which one you want. Summary: I am 5ft 6in 143lbs and this trampoline is just about right for my size. I am a personal trainer and use this to help my clients workout with cardio. It is the perfect size for a workout inside or outside. If you are a larger person, you might want to consider getting the 350 model, because it allows for different firmness settings to accommodate the higher weight. As for the surrounding mat, the difference between them is supposed to be for safety apparently. The skirt mat (The thin one) provides more than adequate protection. The padded petal mat (The fluffy one) makes more sound with every jump, but has a softer outside. In my opinion, the skirt mat is perfect already. I can step/jump on on the edges of it and it is fine. I am on a fixed budget and cannot afford to make mistakes when making my purchase decisions. Had I known about the different firmness settings available in the higher models, I would have purchased the 350 version. I thought this version (220) was adjustable, but it is not. Note: A little warning to those considering purchasing the cheaper models of trampolines here on Amazon. My friend purchased a $40.00 one (Metal Springs), as well as a $90.00 one (Some kind of elastic flaps?). They both wore out within a month. Whatever you do, do not buy the metal spring or elastic flap versions of a trampoline. The elastic cord is quieter, bouncier, safer, and it lasts longer. Take it as you will. END OF REVIEW Here is the technical difference between the various JumpSport Models to save you the trouble. JumpSport Fitness Trampoline Model 220: 1. 29.5in Jump Space (Excluding the little skirt surrounding the trampoline) 2. Does NOT come with adjustable cords that allow different firmness setting 3. 30 count EnduroLast 2 elastic cords 4. Skirt Mat 5. 250-pound maximum user weight JumpSport Fitness Trampoline Model 250: 1. 29.5in Jump Space (Excluding the little petal mat surrounding the trampoline) 2. Does NOT come with adjustable cords that allow different firmness setting 3. 30 count EnduroLast 2 elastic cords 4. Padded Petal Mat 5. 250-pound maximum user weight JumpSport Fitness Trampoline Model 350 Non-Folding: 1. 29.5in Jump Space (Excluding the little skirt surrounding the trampoline) 2. 3 adjustable tension settings 3. 30 count EnduroLast 3 elastic cords (Lasts longer than EnduroLast 2. No difference other than that) 4. No difference other than that) 4. Skirt Mat 5. 250-pound maximum user weight 6. This version allows you to fold the trampoline for easier transportability. (Not sure what to say about this. It has good reviews online. The only negative review on Amazon has the person saying a leg broke, but the company quickly fixed the issue by sending a replacement. The person amended their review in the comments and is happy, but forgot to update the stars for the review) ... show more

  • Okay, "MIRACLE" might be a little strong, but...
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
...so far my experience (20 days or so) with my JumpSport 220 has been excellent! I LOVE this product and wish I could get one for every person I care about. I got interested in rebounding recently because I was noticing that my general healing time and over-all feeling of good health were on an unusual downward slide. For most of my life my body's immune system and healing ability have been almost unshakable; usually it is rare and takes a LOT for me to get sick. But, I was noticing a relatively steep decline, so I started nosing around the internet for clues ...most of which pointed to lymphatic stagnation ...and every Google search including the term "lymph" will eventually lead to rebounding, so I thought I'd give 'er a go. When my research of specific product options narrowed, I quickly concluded that JumpSport is the only brand to buy. Although, I should say that I am in no way affiliated with the manufacturing or sale of any rebounder whatsoever. The JS220 just seemed to fit my needs. And, boy howdy, does it ever! Since starting to bounce I have noticed impressive improvement in several areas: - I can feel strength, stability, and balance developing in all of my joints, hips and knees in particular. Joint pain has been my only health complaint, even since I was a kid, because I have spinal curvature and a pelvic tilt that disrupts my alignment. Since starting on the JS220 10-40min 4 days a week, I can say that for the first time ever, I have no noticeable discomfort in my joints ...and it feels SO GOOD! Like, magical... - My healing and immunity have returned to their normal level of (excellent) function, maybe better. For example, I live with my younger brother and on Sunday he came down with the absolute worst flu I have ever seen him endure. He's been running a temp of at least 100.7 all the way up to 102 for 72hrs straight. I have been in close contact with him through the whole ordeal, doing whatever I can to help. I fully expected that even while rebounding, plus minding my hand washing and hydration, I would still eventually get sick too, but for the most part, I feel just fine! It is a beautiful thing. -My mental focus and endurance are much improved. I have delt with the difficulties of ADHD my whole life, but was undiagnosed until about 27 (I'm 31). It has always been a struggle, even with medication and behavioral treatments. Since starting rebounding I find that I am able to focus enough to read for extended periods, sit through movies (this NEVER happens), and generally stay on task much better. I feel like an actual grown-up! :) -Finally, my cardiovascular system has made leaps and bounds (hehehe) since starting on the JS220. As recently as three weeks ago I would find myself heavily winded and unable to carry a conversation for a good 20min after climbing four flights of stairs. Late last week I made the trek up and although I was still breathing harder than normal, it was in no way uncomfortable and I could visit easily within 5min, tops. As far as the specifics of the quality of the JS220 in particular, so far I have literally no complaints. I was able to assemble the thing in 15min or so, even though I have basically zero mechanical skills. I was very surprised by how light and easy to maneuver it is - I expected it to be kind of a pain in the butt, but, not at all! I love that it is a very quiet bounce; my brother has been sitting in the next room and had no idea I was jumping. One suggestion I was going to make: in the event that your excitement leads you to a bit too much jumping in the first few days, soaking in a hot Epsom salt bath might help a lot. At least, it helped me :) I would absolutely not hesitate to recommend this to anyone. (People are probably getting sick of hearing me gush about it.) As soon as I can I plan to get one for my mom too. Her lymph and cardiovascular function are so diminished that it impacts every part of her life daily. I have no question that she will enjoy profound improvement in her health and quality of life through rebounding with the JumpSport 220. Did I mention that I love it?? ;) ... show more

  • So much better than the old style rebounders
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
I bought the 220 model JumpSport Fitness Trampoline about 9 months ago. I keep it in my office at work. I have been at the same sit down job for almost 20 years now and it has taken a toll on my health. I have been looking for ways to get some movement into my typical work day. For example, each time I exit the main office into the hallway to walk to the bathroom, I run down and then back up a flight of stairs first, even though the bathroom is on the floor I work on. So, if I go to the bathroom four times during the day, I have run that flight of stairs four times, plus when I first arrive at the office and for my lunch break. It adds up. In the handicap stall in the bathroom I jog in place, do jumping jacks, some lunges and twists. I also walk a few loops inside the main office while waiting for my tea water to heat up. Having this trampoline in my office has been a great addition to these mini-workouts I've been adding to my day. When I first started using it, it was definitely hard because I was so out of shape, but within just a few times of using it my endurance was noticeably improved and I can see a marked difference in my day - more energy, not conking out after lunch, and just feeling stronger. I get on it a few times a day sometimes for just a minute or two. It's important to note that if you are just starting and you find that it's hard, don't be discouraged. Honestly, unless you have a physical limitation that doesn't allow your body to recover, you will probably find that every time you use it your heart gets stronger and you can go a little longer. You do not have to jump on it for 10 or 15 minutes to get benefits. I started with 30 seconds here and there, then a minute, and built my time up. And, it's so fun that it doesn't feel like work. Comparing this to the old style mini-tramps with the springs which I started using in the 80s when they were popular, this one is like a Rolls Royce and they are VWs!! Not offense to VWs, they are cute, but this trampoline with bungie cords instead of string is so smooth, solid, and really so much easier on my knees and back and the bounce is not stiff...it propels you and helps to keep going. They are expensive compared to the spring models, no doubt, but I think it's worth it and I am going to buy a second one to keep at home for evenings and weekends. If you aren't aware of the health benefits specific to rebounding, look it up online because rebounding is one of the only ways to affect your body in some of these ways (e.g., stimulates lymph activity). Rebounding is truly a unique exercise and is definitely worth adding to your fitness routine. And if you don't have a fitness routine yet, it's a great place to start. I have not done much with the DVD that comes with this tramp since I use it work, but now that I can jump for longer periods I will plan to try the DVD once I get another tramp for home. If you have a hard time balancing or you are just afraid of falling, there is a handle you can buy from the same company that looks very sturdy. After not rebounding for years I was a little hesitant to start and I thought about getting the handle, but within two or three uses I had my balance back and was jumping like a kid, so I don't need the handle for support. If it looks like it would be good to have in order to perform other exercises on the DVD later though, I might get it. Again, if this is hard for you, that's ok. If you jump for 1 minute a few times a day, it will add up to increased health. It really will and very soon you'll be able to jump longer and longer at one time. If you want to compare the different JumpSport mini-trampoline models (there are many), there is a nice comparison chart on their site: www.jumpsport.com/Fitness-Trampoline-Model-220 ... show more

Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
I've been looking for ways to improve my health in 2012 and increasing my level of exercise is part of a two prong plan to do so. Since it's still winter, I was looking for a way to exercise indoors that would help raise my cardio output but in a low or preferably non-impact manner. In addition to having really bad arthritis, due to a couple of bad falls my kneecaps are held in place by screws so I need to be *really* careful what type of impact they are exposed to. I did a lot of research not only about the various types of trampolines but also as to their health benefits. There is some promising research that suggests that the lymphatic system cam greatly benefit from the gravity effects experienced while rebounding. If this is true, I would want the benefits to last and from some reviews on other units, longevity can be an issue with indoor trampolines. The Jumpsport had the best reputation for quality and customer service so I figured I would give this a try. It arrived within five business days of ordering, in large diameter, flat box. The legs are not attached for shipping and it took under ten minutes to assemble with the allan wrench provided which was easy for me to do. It comes with a workout DVD which I was happy and surprised to find that the leader of the workout is a mature woman, 50+ years old. I have some serious limitations at the moment so I was thrilled that the video had anything remotely possible for me to make a start with. The instructors demonstrates modifiers for various levels of ability so even I could participate from day one. The video is shot in a very clear format - white background, three women, no bells or whistles. There are seven sections including a warm up, stretch, cardio, strength, upper body, core, and final stretch. Lasts about a half hour if you do the whole thing. The trampoline itself is a ROCK SOLID build which relived any fears I had about my height/weight being the right match for this unit. I am 5' 11" and at the moment close to 200lbs; I was concerned that my heels may come too close to the ground on a good hard jump but I found I have several inches of ample clearance and nothing to worry about there. I have been using this in short intervals but so far I have not had any increase in pain in my knees, hips, etc. It has a really nice feel to the bounce - soft enough of a bounce not to hurt but firm and responsive enough that you feel you're catching a little bit of loft/air. This is just my first week with the Jumpsport so if any issues develop with quality or durability I will update this review accordingly. In the meanwhile, so far I'm very impressed with the product which I feel meets the claims set forth in the description and would recommend. 02/27/12 UPDATE: Much to my own surprise, two days ago I was able to make it through the whole half hour workout. Although I was a little (well honestly A LOT) more tired than usual the day after and into today, I have not experienced any unusual soreness like when I have started other workouts. I am really happy that I was able to actually complete a full workout, and part of that accomplishment is due to the excellent DVD and positive coaching it provided. I had to use the modifiers and do the push ups standing, leaning into a countertop as I can;t easily get on the floor. I've posted a photo of a screen shot from the video; as I'd mentioned above, it is filmed very clearly and that makes it very easy to follow. I'll continue to post progress with the Jumpsport but for those on the fence about whether they can do this with a disability, I'd say this really is worth the 30 day try, with nothing to loose and maybe some really great results to gain. -DG ... show more

  • good accessory piece, would love to see them make a bigger model
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
I picked this up as a lightning deal. Looked interesting and for the price I figured it was worth taking a chance on. I had looked at the 350 model and at the Bellicon's. Set up took about 5 minutes and was very easy. I am not sure how the lone negative reviewer could have gotten bad legs as these are made of metal and very very sturdy (the rubber stoppers seem to be of excellent quality as well). That describes the overall product as a whole, well made and very sturdy. I am 6'3" and around 210. It handles my weight with ease. (update: Have used the unit for two months now and I have noticed if I am picking my knees up high and drive down with my heels hitting the mat first, rather then my whole foot, I can just bottom out on the floor. It isn't jarring or anything and I only have it happen when not paying attention and doing high knee lifts, but it does occur occasionally.) I had looked at the jumpsport 350 thinking it might be better for me as a heavier user, but I think the 220 is fine (still think that even with the bottom out issue, because it happens so infrequently and doesn't hurt or jar). It looks like is the same as the 350 except the 350 has more knots tied in the elastic cords to allow for different tension setting. I tried it upstairs in our splitlevel as we have a high ceiling there and noticed it caused items on the walls, cabinets to shake, etc.... I moved it downstairs where I only have 8 foot ceilings but a concrete floor and haven't had the same issues. At over 6 feet tall this isn't ideal but for the 5-10 mintutes of use to warm up for lifting or supplementing cardio after a rowing or eliptical workout it is just fine and I have a few inches to spare. It is almost completely quiet which is the biggest benefit of the bungies. also very little impact and the back, kness, etc... feel fine when on it or after getting off. I am hoping with light in home use it will last several years before the bungies wear out. (although I have two young kids who like to hold my hands and jump as well, which might shorten that lifespan) As far as useable surface area to work on, it is a little less then I would have perfered. They list the mat at 33 inches, which if you include the skirting it is. However the actual tight part of the mat in the center is only a shade under 25" wide. The excess skirt area isn't really made for jumping on, its more of a safety area vs. workspace. Max effort/max height you need to pay attention to your landing zone. For me I can do a basic jump in place, twisting, some one legged jumping, etc..... but having a larger pad to do jumping jacks on, lunges, have a little more room when one legging, etc... would be nice. Overall it is a nice accessory piece to add a bit of flavor to a warm up or workout. For someone my size it isn't something I would spend 20-30 minutes on at a time and get a full cardio workout on vs. a more traditional device such a treadmill. It does get your heart rate up and is a good physical activity, just for me the smaller mat limits my usage somewhat. In looking at the much much more expensive Bellicon brand and their significantly wider mats on their 44" and 49" models, I think you certainly could eke those longer workout times out. I do think Jumpsport has made a very nice trampoline in these fitness models. I would love to see them keep the prices well under the Bellicons, have the same quality the 220 has, but introduce a 44" or 49" model and get the mat sizes up a bit. This is a great starter trampoline though if you are looking to get into shape, and still even a good trampoline if you are already in shape and just looking for something different to introduce into your routine for 5-10 mintues during your workout and I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Quiet and Fun workout for the whole family!
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
My family and I have the best time on this super quiet piece of equipment. y 1 year old even is at the request to have me bounce him to sleep for nap time.... I wished they make a larger circumference of this bungee re bounder but really - I have found that if it was bigger I would have a harder time maneuvering it out of the way when not in use. I really wanted a big expensive German re bounder ( you know the 800 plus dollar one) but I am really so please with this one that I am very glad we saved 600 plus dollars and still get the great results of this great feeling soft bounce on my problematic knees and once weak body. I can bounce on this all day long and have no pain.... just all results. I couldn't get thru any other workout that I tried before this without giving myself great pain and hemoroid issues : I had a huge baby ( close to 10 pound ) and became so weak after healing from 24 hour natural birth that turned into an emergency C section. and I live in a place that for 3 months of the year averages 125 degrees outside so walking really isnt an option in the summer time( and sitting in my house, rotting away wasnt helping my post delivery issues either....) But this workout strengthens every cell of the body with every jump ( says multiple health websites for rebounding) Within 2 weeks- I had more stamina and was ready to take on other fun workouts. when I do go to do other workouts ( zumba for example) I use to feel like I needed to use a pain reliever the next morning( who doesn't during new routines) but I jump for 2 minutes on the trampoline instead and all the muscle pain goes away for the whole day... it seems to re-regulate all the liquid that settled in those muscles to protect from tear - releasing it which then makes and all the pain disappear. I then feel refreshed and ready for chasing after my little one :) This is a great product for the whole family! young or old. I love it! from August 11th till Sept 3- I have lost 19 inches.... Have not changed my diet. I just started rebounding I find myself rebounding a few times a day and rebounding lead to adding zumba classes 3 days a week. ( because all of a sudden I had lots of energy and felt like dancing!) listen- I used to have a cleaning lady to help keep the house clean and she moved out of the area at the same time I started bouncing- I have not replaced her.... I have a very active toy throwing 1 year old and I now can keep up with him and keep up with the house cleaning everyday! I couldn't do that before Aug 11th.... I got my zest for life back! Yaw Who! I highly reccomend this to everyone. so much fun. a huge difference to a hard spring thing... and so quiet.... Happy Jumping to you! ... show more

  • Cheapest High Quality Rebounder
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
Overall Review: I've had a few fitness trampolines the last couple years. From cheap 20 dollar ones to the high quality spring ones. I was extremely hesitant to get this one because of its price, because I am a full time student on a budget. However after watching the Round Lady videos on youtube I was pretty much convinced. The elastic cords make for a wonderful and extremely soft bounce. I have bad knees due to accident, which makes running and walking hard on them after time. Even after a long workout on this I don't feel my knees going out or start to hurt. I did allot of research and this and the Belicon fitness trampoline are the only two brands I know of that use these elastic cords. However Belicon is ridiculously priced. While this may not be as good as a belicon supposedly, when I compared the two the bounce was not that noticeably different, and I paid 600 dollars less for this vs. the Belicon. ----- What its Done for My Health: I was seriously overweight when I purchased this. I've been using it actively day and night for awhile now and its done tremendous things for my general health. Other than weight and inches lost I've seen dramatic improvement in my energy levels as time goes by. This is the only rebounder and general excerise I've been able to stick with because it does not hurt my damaged knees. Rebounding (mini-trampolines) also have the extremely nice health benefits. Just google "rebounding" or "jump for your health" and you'll see what I'm talking about. Even NASA says this is the best exercise you can do for your body because of what it does for your lymphatic system. With the right rebounder it also has little to no damage on your joints (a big issue for me, as I already have bad knees). This is the cheapest, best "soft bounce" rebounder currently on the market. I HIGHLY recommend it. ----- Differences Between Models & Accessories: There are two versions of all these. The kinds with petals, and the kind without. I personally like the kind without the petals because it makes for a silent bounce. While the petals make for a loud rubbing sound when you bounce. They say you can bounce on the petals, however the one I tried with petals made for a very uncomfortable bounce, I think they are just there for if you loose your footing. If you want something to cover the cords, they have a plastic overslip on the jumpsport website that is cheap and you won't get that annoying rubbing sound when you bounce. There is also "higher end" versions of this trampoline that apparently have an even softer bounce, though I have not tried those models personally I can tell you the bounce on this is plenty soft enough. There is a handlebar option, which you can buy on amazon if you choose. It is pricey (80 dollars, almost half of the actual trampoline), while I didn't get it at first because I had no need for it, I eventually invested in it anyway. I purchased the handlebar after my mother's health started to go downhill, I started to get her to use this but she had a serious balance issue. The handlebar, though expensive, is worth it if you have balance issues or somebody you know also using it (especially somebody older) needs support. I actually found that I was happy with it too because I became more confident with my bounces without the worry that I may fall. ... show more

  • Best purchase ever!
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. This and my Vitamix are serious game changers! I'm really into natural health and fitness, and while I have a love/hate relationship with running, I always end up with foot and joint pain after a few days. However, with this trampoline I can jump until I'm thoroughly exhausted and there is absolutely zero pain anywhere in my joints! If anything my joints feel much better and loosened up after jumping. I also feel like I'm getting a better, full body workout when jumping because every muscle in my body is exhausted. Obviously my legs get sore but it also works my arms, abs, and back muscles to the point where they will be sore for a couple days! Especially if I haven't used it in a week or so. This is probably the best cardio workout I've ever done. I've also read a lot about the benefits of jumping for detoxing your lymphatic system and helping with bone density. If you're interested in health, check out chrisbeatcancer.com. This website is about a guy who beat stage III colon cancer without chemotherapy, instead using natural, non-toxic treatments and nutrition. He is also a huge advocate of rebounding for lymph detoxing and the role it has played in his recovery. He's been cancer free for over 11 years, and his story and website is amazing and full of great information. At least check out his video and article on rebounding. As far as which model to get, I would highly recommend the jumpsport over anything else, because it is the smoothest, quietest jump for a great price. Quality so far seems great, I've had mine almost 2 years and theres no noticeable wear and tear. I originally ordered the 250 model but exchanged it for this one because I didn't really like the flaps on the other model, they were noisy and I didn't like the appearance as much. You can still jump on the outside edges of this one as well, so I don't really see the point to those flaps. Its really not a big deal either way they are pretty much the same and both will work great. Overall I would advise this trampoline for anyone who wants to improve their health! I forgot to mention that its also really fun to use, which for any long term health regimen is important because if you don't like doing something, you probably won't do it for long. This is the funnest, best workout I have ever done and I'm so happy I discovered this product! ... show more

  • All in All a pretty good unit...............
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
It arrived on time. And even though there was damage to the shipping box, which looked as though someone punched a hole in it....all was good inside of the box. It was fairly easy to put together. After taking it out of the box, then the bag, assembly consisted of matching up the feet and attaching with the hex/key allen wrench that was included. A bit hard on the fingers though to tighten it up enough to be secure. My fingers were a bit sore after putting it together. (Not whining. Just trying to give everyone a heads up.) If you have your own or alternate wrench and it fits, you may want to give it a go instead of the wrench that's included. Although the construction does seem pretty good, I was disappointed to see it is made in China. The bungee or tension cords, or whatever you call them, have a strong smell to them. I've had the unit about a month now, and the smell has lessened a little. But I'm hoping it will lessen more. Only time will tell. I like the tension that was already set when it shipped, and it gives what I consider a medium bounce. My suggestion is if you're fairly tall, (over 6 feet), that you either bounce outside or have a ceiling that's over 8 feet. You wouldn't want to hit the ceiling and crack your skull. It's about as close to fun as excercise can be. It comes with a DVD, but I didn't care for it. Just did my own thing...... I started with a few minutes at a time....one, then two times a day. Have worked up to 7 or 8 minutes at a time, 5 to 6 days a week. I read that it's important to work up to length of time and frequency when using a rebounder. Because if you don't, you could risk prolapsed organs. If you do a search for "rebounder excercises" and or "rebounder health benefits" you'll find mention of it. I can not say I've lost any weight or had my metabolism change as a direct result of using this. But I do feel that I've started to firm up a little. I find it not difficult to move it to another room or outside if I want. My guess is it weighs between 25 and 30 pounds. Overall, I like this and feel it's a good buy. I'm glad I got it. And I would certainly recommend it. *************************************** Update May 2014 Still own it and happy with it. I still recommend it. ... show more

  • This is beginner perfection
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
About ten years ago I got a rebounder - not so 'hip' as it is now - that one was larger but it had springs & even my cat gave me the slit-eye & literally would put his paw over his face when I pulled it out. It was noisy - so my next rebounder had to be silent: this is SILENT....... I had torn ligaments & needed to get some strength - so after ten years I recalled the rebounder thingy.....I did a lot of research.... & decided upon this... It's perfect It's silent It's sturdy It only needs legs screwed on - no risking life & limb & I have been using this every day for over a month, usually twice a day - I've got it out to just jump on too whenever I want... It's pure awesomeness I think - at some point - I wouldn't mind a larger mat to jump on - but that's in the future: & it will be from JumpSport no doubt Perfection - so glad I didn't do the cheapy thing & glad I chose JumpSport ( & no, I'm not affiliated) I'm saying this to those on the fence: I was too - & there's so much out there now....I can only say: get this, not that. ... show more

  • compared to Cellerciser
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
I see a lot of reviews comparing this mini-trampoline to a Bellicon. I don't know anything about Bellicon, but my mom has a Half Fold CELLERCISER® Kit (Rebounder) , so I can compare these two rebounders. Bounce: (I edited this after re-considering) I get way more tired bouncing on the JumpSport than on the Cellerciser! It's smooth but seems a little less bouncy, like it's giving me less help on the rebound. I feel like I'm getting a workout after just a couple of minutes. Cost: The Cellerciser is a great, high quality rebounder. It's also $330. The JumpSport is $200. This was a huge deal to me. Out of the box: The JumpSport requires some assembly. It probably took me about 10-15 minutes to get it set up. All the tools you need are included. The Cellerciser has no assembly, you simply unfold it and jump! Storage: This JumpSport does not fold in half for storage. The Cellerciser does. This is very nice for storage. The JumpSport is a couple of inches higher off the ground than the Cellerciser. It does not fit under my bed like the Cellerciser would even unfolded. You can unscrew the legs of the JumpSport if you wanted to make it easier to store it, but that's about it. Noise: The JumpSport is MUCH, MUCH quieter than the Cellerciser. The Cellerciser uses metal springs while the JumpSport has elastic bands. This was a major plus to me because I like to jump while I'm watching TV. Also I live in an apartment complex so I try not to make unnecessary noise. Look: The Cellerciser has a nice blue skirt to cover the springs which goes over the frame. The JumpSport cover only covers part of the elastic bands where it meets the mat. It doesn't stay flat on the trampoline like the Cellerciser's mat does. I have to stay fairly focused on when I'm jumping or I'll jump on the elastic bands. I did not have this problem with the Cellerciser. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase of the JumpSport over the Cellerciser. The noise and cost were the 2 biggest issues for me. If storage is your concern, then I would advise you to buy the Cellerciser. ... show more

  • Health Benefits
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
Three Years Later Update.... I'm not using my rebounder as much as previously - 3 or 5 times a week for only about 10 minutes each time, rather than 5x/week for half an hour each time - but I am still showing improvements. I just got back the results of my latest thermogram today. The colors have shifted even more strongly to the blue/green spectrum vice the green/yellow/red I originally had. I plan to keep on doing this for the rest of my life. ....... In January 2013 I had a thermogram (infrared photo of heat in the body) rather than a mammogram. My results showed several warm-ish spots (showed up as green, yellow and orange) on my breasts. While NOT an indication of breast cancer, I was told this was something I needed to watch (if the color spectrum shifted from green/yellow/orange to yellow/orange/red between one exam and the next, I would need to seek further medical help to ensure it was not cancer). The thermographer indicated that the warmer colors were indicative of a stagnant lymphatic system. I did the research and settled on rebounding as the most efficient exercise for the lymphatic system. I purchased the JumpSport and started using it about half an hour a day, five times a week. Five months later I had a second thermogram (you initially need to have two within a six month period in order to establish a baseline). My thermographer was amazed at my new results - the colors had shifted from green/yellow/orange to blue/green (the coolest colors of the spectrum). My results were, in her words, "ideal." A second health benefit was unexpected. When I initially began using the JumpSport fitness trampoline, I had to wear a pad because I "leaked" even if I had just used the bathroom. But after a couple of months, this no longer happened. This brought improvements in other areas of my life. To be able to laugh without restraint or sneeze without fear - that alone is worth the price of admission. ... show more

  • Great quality, but less than ideal for men
Style: JumpSport 220 Fitness Trampoline
This is an extremely well built trampoline, and it is likely a perfect solution for children and most women. However, I am a 6’1” tall man, weighing about 178. I wish I had purchased a larger trampoline. Without getting into anatomical details, the bottom line is that men have a wider stance than women. My natural “jumping stance” puts my feet just inside the outer perimeter of the bouncing surface. If you look closely at the pictures, the outer four inches or so of the black surface is not actual bouncing area, it is just a loose layer of thin vinyl over the bungee cords. If I jump ever so slightly out of balance and my feet move to either side by a couple of inches, I find myself stepping not on the bouncing surface but on the top of the bungees. The next thing I know I am struggling to not lose fall off the trampoline. So, it is an excellent trampoline, but not ideal for tall men. ... show more
