The mattress is nice and thick. There’s a two inch layer of memory foam on to of a 5 inch layer of regular foam. There’s bed is large enough for my Labrador to fully stretch out on it. He’s had his previous bed for over six years and getting him to make the change to the foam bed is taking some time. My last Lab was the same way when I got him his memory foam mattress for his senior years. I know eventually he’ll come to see the new bed as more comfortable.

1st, the packaging is just adorable and makes you smile! Then this thick dog bed started taking shape immediately after removal from vacuum seal packaging. Just be sure you zip it up as it's left partly unzipped for packing purposes. This bed is a great size! I have the 50" long jumbo. I bought it for my 9 y/o 84lb, Shepard-pit (the tan dog in pics). She likes something to lay her head on, but doesn't often curl up, so she doesn't need bolsters on 3-4 sides. This is perfect for her. But what I love the most is how the bed is actually as full as it looks in photos! She lays on this and doesn't sink down. The white dog in my picture is a 53lb American bulldog-pit mix. She's decided she likes this bed as well, but thinks it's cool to lay across the shorter direction because she can without bolsters all around. Granted she typically curls up to sleep, so her bedtime pillow has bolsters all around. I love that both dogs can fit on this at the same time of they want too. Yet even with both, the memory foam holds up and they don't sink. I don't notice the almost imperceptible noise you typically hear from waterproofing material inside the bed when you first let your dogs start using a new bed. I heard it (barely) the first day but would much rather have that barrier inside than ever have a dog vomit or something and then have to deal with that soaking into foam. For anytime who thinks it's most, that could simply remove that barrier. I'll keep mine. Even though I currently have 4 dog beds for 2 dogs, I'm considering getting a 2nd of this in a smaller size if I can get one that matches. I'd like 2 next to each other in the kitchen for both dogs since they mostly prefer to lay on separate beds, but nearby each other. I honestly think this is the best dog bed I've bought over the past 30 years and I've purchased several over that time! The price was worth it! Awesome product and very pretty too!

I haven’t had this longer than a day so I can’t speak to how easy it is to clean or durability, but I can tell you that it is the best dog bed I have ever purchased in my decades of dog ownership. It feels very durable, it’s very well constructed with even a hidden zipper tab, the fabric is a soft Micro suede and there was a liner which is the only thing that I think is a little bit questionable as to the “waterproof” aspect of it. Seems a little thin, so I don’t know how well it will hold up, but I think it would be very easy to add another liner or add a waterproof pad under the cover. Even if this isn’t waterproof, this bed is worth every penny. When my 75lb arthritic lab walked on it you could see his feet sinking into it so it’s not hard as a rock, I can push on it and it has really good rebound. Dogs are sound asleep on it as I type this (and no snoring!). It’s massive too, so I definitely feel like I got my money’s worth! Perfect size for a Great Dane, or 2 medium size dogs, or a large and small dog. My lab and my morkie have room to fully stretch out, and I could still fit another small pup on there. Would it fit a large lab and a medium size dog? Yes, but they would have to be pretty considerate of each other’s space. A large lab and two small dogs (like 10lb dogs), yes!! Two medium dogs? Yes! Six small dogs? Totally! 2 large labs? I would say no. I’ll try to remember to report back at a later date, but thus far I am entirely ecstatic with this purchase. We’ll see how my dog feels after sleeping on it for a while. Oh, and the packaging? Adorable! It was so nice to get packaging that had real effort put into it. It made me feel a lot more confident that the product I was getting was of good quality from a reputable company. It says to allow 24 to 72 hours to expand but within just a few hours that bed was completely expanded. I waited a 24 hour period before letting the dogs on it and made sure that there were no gaps where the memory foam had not filled in. My only suggestion would be to unzip and peel back both the liner and the cover allowing the foam the freedom to expand. I would absolutely purchase another one of these, and I might just do it!! ** UPDATE! I bought this in 2021. It’s 2023 now and it looks brand new! It has held up to daily use, they sleep on it every night, it’s been puked on, it’s been washed multiple times, and it’s held up beautifully! The inner core is still pristine and no lingering odors! I actually came back today to buy another one for elsewhere in the house! Love it and still highly recommend!

*2 Month Update* I went to take off the outside fuzzy cover to give it a wash. Underneath the cover is a “waterproof” liner, and I decided to take that off as well just to see how the foam was holding up underneath. Keep in mind, our dog is always clean/regularly bathed, and dry (minus a rainy day here and there). But on all the edges of the bed where my dog puts his paws over the side or his head, all had horrible stains in the foam. This must mean the waterproof liner is most definitely not waterproof- and since the only times our dog laid down on this bed somewhat damp was once or twice after a visit in the rain, a little bit goes a long way. The liner was put on correctly from the beginning but clearly doesn’t do the job well.. Original review: I hadn’t even finished unwrapping- I walked away and when I came back my boy had already found it and was sound asleep! It’s definitely big but it’s worth it for the larger and older dogs that need the extra joint support. The topper is also really nice- it’s a soft, not super synthetic feeling material. I had to return another bed before this one that had a gross feeling super fake and thin microfiber topper- this is WAY better!!
