Color: 04 Cherry Wood Crème
First time trying these products. I love the burgundy cherrywood color so much. Very nineties. Reminds me of blackberry by Revlon, but now I avoid all of the toxic chemicals. These are a bit cleaner. I would call it more of a moisturizing lipstick than a tinted balm. There is great color payoff. While the color is buildable, if you are looking for a lightly tinted balm, I would skip this, as they might be too intense for you. The color fades slightly after application, presumably from the balm absorbing, but still lasts several hours if you leave it alone. Cherrywood does leave a slight stain, which I also like. I can apply gloss and still look like I have some color to my lips. This is important to me as my lip color is slightly fading with age. Applicator: some reviewers said the applicator is messy, but it’s user error…only if you smear the product all over inside the cap will it then transfer to the outside of the tube. The lid CLICKS when closed, which is brilliant because it stays closed in my purse, so these are awesome for travel. I like that I can retract the product after applying, as some brands only go out further and, if you accidentally extend it too far, you’re in danger of it smushing it in the lid. This was a well thought out feature with this brand. Flavor/scent: there is almost none. I prefer this, because it keeps me from licking my lips once I apply. One reviewer said this shade tastes like cherry; It does not at all. A few other reviewers said it tasted like old lipstick. I can only assume that they got a bad batch, and they should process a return to get a replacement. Upon liking this color so much, I also ordered Cinnamon Raisin, which is a warm-neutral mauve. I’m going to order a few other colors. I wish they made a bright poppy, orange red, since I see they are adding new colors all the time, maybe that’s coming down the pipeline. Hope this review helps!

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to love these balms as much as I do but they are FABULOUS! Moisturizing, clean formula, beautiful and buildable color. Believe the hype…I am hooked from the first swipe. I’m wearing Cashmere Rose in the pic and it’s a perfect MLBB holy grail shade that I will def reach for daily. Also bought Sangria and it’s a chic and gorgeous punchy berry. LOVE!! ♥️

Not too sure about this yet - almost feels more like a lipstick to me…the color is nice. The end you put on your lips doesn’t “hold” a lot of the balm, not sure if this is good or bad… Not scented…goes on smoothly.

I have been using Julep for many years and even bought into their minds monthly box subscription for a couple years to get to try everything. I have used the "it's balm"' sticks and loved them. When I saw them on Amazon I was excited cause I ran out recently. Id on't know if it's the 2 colors I got or they changed the formula along with the packaging but either way these are super grainy and rough. The thing I always loved about them is they were smooth and creamy... and sooo moisturizing for the lips with just enough color that it could be substituted for lip stick. Also the scent added is very perfumed kind of smells like incense. I wonder is this a dup?!!

I was like for something that keeps my lips hydrated and when it fades , there are no weirdos lines or fading that’ll make me look crazy. There is vitamin e in it and if feels like a nice hydrating chapstick and as it wears off it just fades to a slight tint. I got plum and the vintage mauve and it’s perfect I will forever get these!

I was looking for lip color for not just my pale complexion but also for my thin lips. I noticed my mouth area gets washed out when I’m on webcam. So I searched for color that is good for thin lips and I ordered this. I love it. It is the perfect color for my complexion so it gives definition to my mouth but doesn’t draw too much attention to my thin lips lol. As a bonus it totally moisturizes my lips as well. Great product!
