I have been using this lipstick for 5 years now, so I figured it's about time to leave a review. And I've got a lot to say since I've used it for so long and have tried multiple shades, coming back to the reviews every time I want to try a new colour (photos can be so helpful!) Quite frankly, I love them! I can't say this enough! I can eat, drink, kiss, sleep, even SHOWER with this lipstick on and it doesn't come off! Washing my face may take some off but not much unless I'm really scrubbing and use my fingernail to scrape at it. The only thing that takes this stuff off is anything with oil in it - a makeup wipe mostly, with a bit of applied pressure, and sometimes as I eat something oily/greasy and wipe my mouth (it's minimal but noticeable, depending on the shade). It MIGHT sometimes come off a little when I sleep but not very often. Just depends on how I slept. Most of the time, I wake up looking like I just put it on, even if it's been over 24 hours since I applied it! I've noticed some of the reviews here mentioned that it's sticky, tacky, or thick or it may take a long time to dry. THIS IS USER ERROR. This is NOT an issue with the lipstick! When you use it, scrape AS MUCH AS YOU CAN off of the applicating brush back into the tube. Get all sides and edges of the brush. Not only will this help with the longevity of the product, but the **thinnest of layer** is all you need. You can always apply more, if needed - again, depends on the shade. My lips are always 100% set in under 5 minutes. Just try not to drink in that time because it'll come off on the glass and it's not the easiest to wash off after it dries. But it won't be enough to be noticeable that any has come off of your lips, even if you JUST applied it and immediately picked up the glass (unless you put it on too thick... again, USER ERROR lol). Just annoying if you have to hand-wash the dishes but the dishwasher almost ALWAYS gets it off lol One nice thing about this, verses other matte lipsticks out there, is this doesn't make your lips feel dry at all and it doesn't flake off whatsoever. You can lick your lips all you want if you'd like and it feels just like your natural lips. If you DO have any flaking, you'll only ever notice it on a cup or straw, and it's just coming from the crease of your mouth where your lips touch, which tends to be the most lubricated area which causes the most wear. You'll never notice your lips are dry but, every once and a while, you'll have some dead skin to remove which is easily done. I just consider this like an exfoliate to keep my lips healthy without doing any scrubbing. Happens maybe a couple times a month if I use the lipstick almost every day of the month but may be different person to person. The #1 thing I recommend (and perhaps I should take my own advice lol) is to use a moisturiser when you go to bed at night. Another USER ERROR with some of these reviews is saying how easy it is to come off. If it comes off easily, there are 3 reasons for that. 1: You put it on too thick 2: You applied a gloss on top 3. You've eaten something fairly oily/greasy (#3 can be avoided if you're careful and use utensils, and it's really only noticeable with darker shades). It could be a combination of the 3 as well. But trust me... this stuff doesn't come off unless you REALLY want it to. And for those reviewers who are complaining about how hard it is to remove - again this is user error- to an extent. The key is OIL. Chap stick, lip gloss, a juicy cheeseburger, greasy pepperoni pizza, something with mayonnaise in it, make up wipes, or heck even vegetable oil and a rag will do it. I have noticed that the thicker areas are more stubborn so a little extra pressure with the wipe will do. This is usually the edges of my lips since that's where I apply first and focus on straight lines and shape. Most face wash or other face products (even a cleansing oil) WON'T because they're generally oil-free and made with oil-like moisturising products instead, unless you get the kind for dry skin. Either way, a wipe of some sort or a rag is a must no matter what oily method of removal you use. You're welcome. I just told you the secret magical mystery cure lol Just a disclaimer though... because that crease between your lips tends to collect saliva, as well as the corners of your mouth, just be aware that darker and more bold colours will show signs of wear in these areas after a while. It does NOT do this with the black that I've ever noticed, but the other ones that are a bit more bold and darker have. I have noticed this with Voyager and Visionary out of the ones listed in my photos which I've tried. This will especially happen if you've put it on thicker than it should be. For this reason, I always start with the outside of my lips before filling in the rest, to get any excess from the brush off in that area than an area that will wear down faster.. And, as I said before, that's why it's harder to get off around the outside of my lips than the rest. I've had sooo many compliments and many people asking what kind of lipstick I use, always mentioning that they've noticed I ate and drank and never had to reapply. Heck, even the lady who cleans my teeth has asked me because it's never come off on her gloves haha I've even had guys tell me they liked the colour of lipstick I'm wearing, often mentioning how my go-to is the same shade as my hair lol I've loved all shades on me that I've gotten so far except for one. Guest of Honor looked TERRIBLE on me, so I gave it to my daughter (hence her face marked out in the photo). I think it looked good on her. I don't think I've never looked good in any shades of pink. **It REEEEEALLY annoys me when people leave photo reviews for makeup without saying what colour it is** When the listing has several colours, how am I supposed to know what you're wearing to tell if it's a match to the list photo? Especially since the review doesn't always list the one you actually bought. I can't tell you how many times I've gone through these photos and I'm like oh wow this shade looks like it might have the right shade of light purple that looks good on me, what colour is this? Then I look at the name Amazon listed for it above the review, only to see that it's for a dark brown or a red and NOT whatever you had on in the photo. Really frustrating. If it's just one photo, just mention which one in the review! So for that reason, I've made sure to label each colour appropriately on the photos for you to get an idea of the shades with my skin tone. My everyday go-to, which I wear almost constantly, is Amazonian. It's nearly a dead-on match to my copper hair. When my copper hair is particularly vibrant, Globetrotter is a great match. But I think all the other ones look fantastic as well. I still have more shades I'd like to try, though! I hope this helps someone. It's so difficult to choose what to buy online based solely on colours when they can vary so much from the actual list photos. Just remember that the colours will look different on people with different skin tones as well, so find someone whose skin tone matches yours to get an idea of how it'll look on you. But even if you're not the same skin tone, it's still good to at least see what each colour actually looks like. All but two of these photos are in natural light or under bright lights, which are Visionary and Voyager (just in the shadow a bit but both photos are still pretty close on the exact shade). So these should be very closely true-to-colour.

I am really hooked on this lipstick! It's very long wearing and it's super gentle on my lips. I've tried long wear lipstick in the past and found that it dried my lips out too much and irritated them, like it sucked the moisture out of my lips. This doesn't do that at all! They feel very comfortable underneath, no itching, and don't feel dry when I take it off at the end of the day. It has a really pretty matte sheen, and I like the scent, kind of vanilla. Let me address some common complaints among other reviewers and why I think they're wrong. First off, it is really easy to take off if you know what you're doing. Oil takes this stuff off quite easily, so do some makeup wipes. Most lip balms will take it off as well. For example, I use laneige lip balm at night and it takes it off just fine. Put some on, rub your lips together, and then wipe off with a tissue. Neutrogena makeup wipes also take it off. Secondly, I do agree that this product is very sticky. I have found that I can put my Mac lipglass on over top and now it's not sticky anymore! Also the gloss gives it a nice sheen or glitter depending on what shade of gloss. And most importantly, Mac lipglass does not take it off, yay! Third, because oil takes it off, depending on what you had to eat, it will or won't survive your meal. So some people say they had really good luck with it lasting all day, and other people complaining that it's worn off after a few hours. I think it really depends on what you had to eat that day. If I have something light and non-greasy for lunch like sushi then my lipstick lasts the entire work day without needing a touch-up. If I have a lunch that's heavy on oil, like salad dressing or a lot of butter, then I have to reapply after I finish eating. But one touch up in the middle of the day to freshen up the center of your lips is no big deal! That still wayyyyy beats any kind of conventional lipstick. Fourth, your lips need to be totally clean and oil free before you apply. And this stuff takes about a minute to set. So if you're putting it on, say, on top of lip balm, it isn't going to be long wear lipstick. Likewise, let it set well before you go off for the day. If I get lipstick on my teeth, it's usually during this period where it hasn't set yet. If that happens, I just wait until it is set, and then wipe it off my teeth with a Kleenex. Not a big deal at all! Now on to the colors... I am extremely fair skinned (usually the lightest color in any foundation brand), blue eyes, cool undertone, and brown/ reddish hair. On me, I really like the way dreamer and lover look. Very flattering and works well if you have cool undertones in your skin. I like poet, but it's almost a little too orange/ coral for my skin tone. I agree with other reviewers that seductress doesn't look at all like the photos online. That shade is way more brown in person. Like a '90s brown... I'll probably wear it some, but definitely not the most flattering for cool toned skin. I definitely plan on buying another color or two. At this price point, it's pretty easy to experiment. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

I am blown away. I have never ever had a ālong, lasting lipstickā, that was actually long lasting and that didnāt dry my lips. This applies very smoothly and dries very quickly. I applied it at 8:30 AM and it was only beginning to fade (but not vine off) about 10 hours later. I touched my finger to it, tried blotting it with a Kleenex, no lip marks on a glass and there was zero color transfer all day long. Iām actually trying to figure out the best way to take it off. I used a makeup wipe remover and micellar water and now it looks a little bit like a lip stain. I want ALL the colors now.

If the fact that I have purchased this lipstick 15 times doesnāt tell you how much I love it, I donāt know what will! Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink in 340 Exhilarator has become my signature lipstick. I wear red lipstick regularly, and this is the shade I continually come back to. It is a gorgeous, rich red that gets me compliments nearly every time I wear it. But the color isnāt even the best partāthe staying power is incredible. I can put this on in the morning, drink my coffee, eat lunch, go through my day, and it stays put remarkably well. I donāt want a lipstick that I have to keep checking and reapplying every hour, and this is exactly why Super Stay Matte Ink has become such a favorite of mine. The applicator makes it easy to get a defined lip line, the color is highly pigmented, and once it sets, it really sets. A little goes a long way, so despite how often I wear it, each tube lasts quite a while. Iāve tried plenty of red lipsticks over the years, but 340 Exhilarator is the one people actually stop and ask me about. When you find your perfect red, you donāt mess with itāand apparently you buy it 15 times! š Absolutely five stars. One of the absolute best long wear lip colors that I have ever tried. It stayed put for over 11 hours with, zero touch ups, during which I drank water and soda and coffee. I didnāt eat with this on but when I tell you I had to scrub my lips to get this off Iām not joking. The color is great, I get tons of compliments on it and I will be buying more of this particular brand because on top of it being excellent, itās inexpensive. The only thing I donāt like is itās a bit sticky when you first put it on but Iāll deal with the stickiness to have a lipstick that stays on.

These are my absolute favorite lipsticks of all time. They stay on all day, last through meals, stay on all night when I go to bed forgetting to take it off, and theyāre super affordable. (Dare I say these may last longer than the Stila liquid lipsticks, which I also love.) I got kind of obsessed with finding the right shade for my wedding day someday that I bought 10 in one summer. Not my proudest moment, but Iāve really enjoyed them. No regrets, even though I donāt love every color. My absolute favorites are Seductress, Revolutionary, Inspirer and Voyager. My least favorites are the fair skin colored ones, like Loyalist and Poet. Theyāre too close to my skin color which looked gross on me in bathroom lighting. Out of the two Iām more likely to wear Poet. Dreamer is like a Pepto Bismol color. Founder is like a pinkish red, like the color of my shirt. Pathfinder was a lighter, pinker red and hard for me to match. Seductress is AMAZING, especially on redheads. An awesome casual color. Iāve added pictures of every color I bought along with including their names in the photos. Each photo is taken either in front of a window or outside in order to use natural lighting to get an accurate shot of their true color. Iām hoping theyāre helpful to you all. I will say these lipsticks are super sticky, even after they dry. Licking them does not fix the sticky feeling. However, applying a super thin coat of chapstick by dabbing (not rubbing) the chapstick on the lower lip then pressing your lips together works perfectly! Just remember a little goes a LONG way, because if you add too much, the lipstick will start to come off. Maybellineās Super Stay 24 Color lipsticks are very similar AND they each contain a chapstick on the opposite end of the lipstick. I left a review with pictures there because OBSESSED. If I were to pick one of these colors for my wedding day next year, it would probably be Revolutionary. To take them off without makeup wipes, apply a heavy layer of chapstick overtop and rub off with a tissue a few times.

I have these in many colors, and have been wearing them for years. The good: These have the best staying power of any liquid lipsticks Iāve worn, and Iāve tried many popular ālong-wearingā formulas from both mid- and high-end beauty brands for comparison. During Covid mask-wearing, these were the only ones I trusted to stay in place and not transfer. I even wear them when at the beach, because they are opaque enough to block the UV rays better than any SPF balm, and I donāt have to reapplyā¦they stay on in the water! (Iāve even read that Olympic divers and synchronized swimmers wear these during competitions, and I believe it.) I also wore these when skiing, because the layer of product kept my lips from drying out in the cold and wind. It didnāt rub off on my gaiter either, which was impressive. Iāve worn them when I had fast-paced days at work, when I knew I wouldnāt have time to check my lipstick or reapply. Iāve napped in bright red lipstick on a white pillow, without fear. Iāve worn them when skating outside, while I was sweating a lot and drinking water frequently, and they stayed well. You get the picture. -The price is very reasonable for how much product you get, in my opinion. And Iāve used $34 liquid lipsticks that didnāt perform as well. -There is a nice, large range of colors, and most of them (except for some of the scented special-edition ones) donāt have a noticeable smell, which I appreciate. I personally hate when a lipstick has an intense, cloying vanilla scent. -The nude shades arenāt my faves. I can get a prettier MLBB look with other formulas. But it can (quickly, before it dries!) be smudged out thinner with a fingertip or brush, if you want a bit of a matte stain effect. I do this with Ruler sometimes. -I find these comfortable for me to wear all day; Iāve never had any of them make my lips feel rough or cracked, or cause stinging. My lips feel less dry when I remove it at the end of a day vs. when I had no lipstick or balm on. The bad: -The flip side of their great staying power is that they can be really annoying to remove. It can take multiple passes with a cleansing balm, and lots of rubbing. The best method for me has been using some cotton rounds and the waterproof-makeup-removing micellar water, followed with my regular cleanser. -There seems to be some formula inconsistency between shades. I love the color Dancer, but tried 3 different tubes, and it still feels more viscous than other shades, and has a tendency to flake more. Irritating, because itās my favorite color. Some, like Ruler, Pathfinder, Exhilarator, and Lover, apply more smoothly. But then Romantic and Heroine look patchy? Pioneer always feels sticky, and never quite dries. Itās weird. -If you apply too far into the corners of your mouth, you might see a little color gum up there. And if you apply too far inside your lips, it might roll off in flakes onto your teeth. -After eating something oily, or drinking, I do sometimes have to reapply a little, if it rubs off enough on my inner lip that there is a visible line when my lips are closed. This is worst with the darker reds, and Artist. I can reapply the color well enough over it for a touch-up, but if you look closely, you might see some rough patches where the original application wore off. -These lipsticks do leave little flakes on cups and utensils sometimes. And those color patches will not come off of your dishes in the dishwasher, FYI. Scrubbing required, LOL. As with any long-wearing lipstick, exfoliating your lips before application is key, if you want it to apply smoothly. These donāt work as well if you apply lip balm under them, and applying lip gloss over tends to make them wear off unevenly, in my experience. I donāt bother with lipliner when using these, personally, as feathering and bleeding really hasnāt been an issue.
