Packaged really good, solid construction with Asian writing on some metal and plastic slide board. Not sure if the wax is pure bees wax or a blend but it had a OK coating on it. If the price stays the same ($46.76) or comes down some I’d buy it again.

I run a screen bottom board attached to a solid, so I can use it year-round. The gap between the solid and the screen allows for ventilation and for a tray of Diotomatious Earth for SHB, etc…best of both worlds. However, the bees just go in and out through this screened bottom board like it’s a new entrance. I can’t put DE under it because they’ll get in it. I’m really disappointed because converting it and actually putting it on the hive is a lot for it then to not work. I have others from other companies and do not have this issue. It’s two stars because it seems to be well made but the screen is just too open. Update: I ordered 1/8 hardware cloth, made my own screened bottom board, put it on that hive, and removed this purchased one. When I put that size hardware cloth on top of that used for this purchased board, it was clear that it’s much larger and not standard beekeeping size. I covered it in the 1/8 and kept it for use on a future hive.
