    • Versatile and easy to install
This replaced the rack on my old bike that broke when the bike got knocked over. I was concerned because this is my bang-around bike and it is so old that whenever something goes wrong I can't get the part that fit or they're not set up to work with my frame or seat post. I used the old rack all the time because I never know where I'm going to end up and what I'm going to buy. A library book, a 6-pack, 20 lbs of charcoal. Assembly of this rack was quick and simple - attach the side rails with a couple of screws. The flexible front mount fit perfectly around my seat post, and I was able to attach the lower braces to the frame on my own and level out in a couple of minutes. What I like best is the design that lets it go from fold-down, non-existent, to basket, to wide platform that will hold a good sized box or couple of grocery bags. My only suggestion is to use your own tools. It's nice that they include one of those sheet metal versa-tool wrenches, but it's what it is. ... show more

    • Seems to hold the cargo well enough...
Pros: I like that it can hold a good bit of cargo AND is made stronger than the last one (another brand) I went through which wasn't rated this reliably and failed badly... Cons: I dont like the seat stem clamp design too much and could be improved to a permanent bolt-on clamp since the lower end braces won't come off anyhow... that clamp can't be tightened enough not to pivot laterally into the tire sometimes... The last annoyance is that when the sides are in down position, they rattle against the lower seat stay braces due to slight 'play' in their swing arc... ... show more

    • Good product. Versatile cargo positions. Minimal instructions and photos.
The instructions are minimal, vague, and don't get into enough, or almost any, detail. For example, it doesn't tell you which pair of C clamps to use - the small or large ones as you must determine that based on your bike's frame diameter. It doesn't tell you where the two rubber shims go. It will also definitely help to have a second person to hold things in place to keep them where needed and to line up mating parts. It's not hard, but it needs much better instructions and photos, and a person helping would be a great idea. HINT - figure out how to properly get one side done (but not fully tight), then do the other side the same way, then have the your helper hold everything where it needs to be / where you want it, and then fully tighten everything while making sure that everything is level and straight / properly aligned. The included bungie cord will stay in place if you secure it from the bottom of each wing and wrap over the top of the assembly with both wings down. ... show more

put this on my fat tire ebike in place of factory rack. fits great except for the bottom bracket being too small for the frame. didn't attach the upright poles and still holds the weight I need.

There are several weld points and one or more of them on the unit I received weren't aligned properly, resulting in the foldable brackets slanting almost 10 degrees (after properly installed and locked into position). Once the side brackets are adjusted to lock into place they don't sway. So in each of the 3 positions the slant was very noticeable and problematic. I didn't finish installing in fear the downward position of brackets would hit rear spokes. That said, just handling to assemble confirmed a concern the adjustable brackets may not hold up to much use. So rather than request a new unit, I switched to a model with fixed W shaped brackets. ... show more

    • The fold out sides make a huge difference
The fittings feel a bit flimsy for the claim of being able to carry a passenger, but outside of that I can't really complain. Install wasn't too hard, the sides folding up or down are great if you regularly have to strap down odd sized loads, very stable compared to other racks I've used. Edit: after a couple of months of use it has started to have some issues (slight bends making the folding sides nearly impossible to use) so I have to lower my rating because it is flimsier than originally thought ... show more

I bought this to use to ride by Cruiser bike from our camper to the beach about 1/2 mile away. The unit is fairly sturdy and I was able to pack an ice chest, beach chairs and umbrella on it. The only downfall was it swayed behind my bike and made it very difficult to balance everything. I had about 50lbs on it. ... show more
