Features

  • This preamp from JOYO's BantamP series is a very compact and portable 20 Watt tube head. It tries to bring you the sound of a British classic that has been molded to give you the modern high gain tones that so many bands now use. back in the days, the big 100 Watt heads were "dimed" (all knobs on 10) to push the amplifier really hard and make it distort as much as possible.
  • Out of this came the first amps that were modified to have more gain right from the start. Often, the super saturated high gain sound of those days is referred to as "The Brown Sound"and this is the direction the head excels in. screaming leads, chunky rhythm with a bit of a hole in the middle is where strongest. If you wanna rock 'n'roll, it is going to be your new best friend.
  • This mini tube head also has a CLEAN channel that can take pedals really well, which makes it flexible and a great little companion for many situations where your "big" head is just not sensible.
  • The amp operates with a single 12AX7 tube in the preamp and uses a solid state power amp. the FX loop enables you to put your time based effects (or Phasers, Flangers and Choruses) behind the drive section and keep the effects sharp and not prevent them from being too muddy.
  • The icing on the cake is the Bluetooth connectivity is great to practice with play alongs or to learn songs. Careful, the amp is small, but loud... its 20 Watts can be quite a handful. If you want to practice quietly, use the built in headphone out with speaker emulation.

  • Blown away.
Put a tube screamer in front and an eq in the effects loop and this thing sounds real good. Instant metal. I compared the dirty channel to an abasi pathos and a Friedman be-od and I prefer the joyo with the tube screamer. Clean channel sounds pretty great too. Eq in the effects loop is a must.

  • Great tube sound at a value price
The JOYO Bantamp VIVO is a lot of fun it has great sound. It claims to be 20watts however it's not quite as loud as my 5watt valve jr when played through the same cabinet. But it is plenty loud and the Bluetooth is great for playing along with my favorite tracks. The only thing that I would like to see added would be a line out jack. ... show more

  • It’s a good little amplifier
Fun little bedroom amp. Effects loop is useful and the sound is pretty good. Has some good bite and this little guy can get loud! This company is impressive with what they are putting out.

  • Third time is a charm? Or three strikes your out?
I like the size, wieght, and color scheme. The price is fair as well. I have seen some good reviews of this item. As far as sound goes, I have not been able to say yet. So far I was sent two VIVO amp purchases. Both times each one had an electronic defect. The first amp created a loud hum right away when plugged in. With all knobs at "0". It only got worse when plugging in a guitar and adjusting the knobs. The second VIVO had no sound at all. The first thing one does is check cords for shortages. All cords were good. Still no sound at all. The second thing to do is to just swap out the speaker cord. As well as check matching Ohms. All was good and correct there. After testing, and being retested, I heard a sound, for one slight moment, with guitar plugged in. I noticed that if I held the speaker jack cord tightly and firmly into the speaker output jack it made sound. But one can not play like that. This is how I discovered that the unit had a faulty speaker jack. The first unit I received actually appeared to be a prior return. The second unit looked like it was in perfect condition. If it were not for the defective speaker jack, I would have loved to keep it. So, now what to do? Faulty electronics is not gonna work, literally. But I really want to try this amp successfully. • Yes its a little white beast!
What you may need to know... Pedals! This thing wants your pedals. It lets your pedals do what they do. Pedals that didn't do it for you on a amp that doesn't like Pedals may become valued allies in the Tone Wars. Get a good cabinet and and turn it loose.
