I owned another android radio for some years, a PX6. I was having issues with it overheating when it was really hot out or my car was parked in the sun. This one uses a different processor and has been working great. It is much snappier than the PX6. I bought the wiring harness directly from Joying and it was basically just plug and play on a Toyota Tundra. Make sure you go into the settings to set the car for the steering wheel controls. It is a wonderful improvement on my previous stereo and without lag. Only downside is it does not allow for a front camera unless you use Joying dash cam but I can live with that. Also Toyota has a weird built in mic so you can't use that. I used the supplied mic and haven't had any complaints. The metro dash kit for the Tundra is also too tight to fit the stereo so buy an alternative. And the CarPlay app works much better than on the PX6 but I prefer the android interface. ... show more

An excellent aftermarket touch screen / radio. I had it installed in my honda CRV. Works perfectly. Immediately improved the sound quality in the vehicle without any speaker upgrades. Wireless android auto and apple car play work fabulously. Only have run into one issue so far which required me to reset the unit (pop off the screen and click the reset button), but aside from that minor hiccup, I'm loving it. Makes driving so much more enjoyable and because of all the computing power within it, you actually have the power to run heavy duty android apps (youtube, spotify, etc) without even using carplay/android auto. Positives: The manual's Engrish is better than other brands, it does in fact do split screen and the display itself is bright/clear. Negatives: The audio pre-amp is terrible. Horrible EMI noise from alternator, heated steering wheel, blinkers, basically everything. I have a power filter ordered and will update if it helps. EQ and crossover settings are vauge at best - literally no documentation. Unit seems to be Android 8 not android 10 as advertised. Stock UI is complete garbage. Even with Car Launcher or Agama selected as launcher and 'display over other apps' disabled, the stock launcher still occasionally pops up on boot and/or steals launcher status back. Bluetooth and other system settings are locked down - nova launcher shortcut work around does not work. This means no third party OBD dongle support and no detailed quality settings like AOSP. Transitioning from reverse cam to front cam too quiclkly causes a system freeze. Settings for default boot volume and mute on reverse do not work. TLDR; if you are tone deaf, have money to burn and low enough expectations it might be tolerable. This dumpster fire is definitely not worth the premium price. ... show more

I have JOYING Carplay Stereo 11.6 Inch Octa Core Double Din in my 2010 Toyota Tundra SR5. I have factory stereo control on my steering wheel, so I got this Joying Toyota Universal/Hilux wire harness from JOYING website, so it can be plug and play. Works great.

The media could not be loaded. The first one I bought, would not power up. Returned it. Second one worked perfect. Can't rely on owners manual because there isn't one. Too many menus to go to. Resolution is great. Now Android Auto is not responding. Will check further. I have amps pre installed but it seems that this radio doesn't put enough juice for the amps to work specially the subwoofer ... show more

I ordered the Subaru-specific model from Joying, but it uses this same 11.6” unit. The one I ordered included the plastic shroud that surrounds the climate controls and vents. This made my outdated Subaru feel like a brand new car. Here are my impressions on the various aspects of this unit: FIRST IMPRESSIONS: -This screen is huge. It looks fairly at home in an SUV/crossover but would likely be overkill in a sedan or sports car. That said, if you want a big screen, this is the head unit to get. -The display looks and feels like a premium product. The touch screen is just as responsive as an iPad, and the colors and clarity are just as good, too. -In my car, the unit powers up almost instantly when I start the car. And there is little latency in showing the backup camera after putting the car in reverse, even right after starting the car. APPLE CARPLAY -If you plan to use CarPlay almost exclusively, this unit is perfect—CarPlay is truly wireless in this model. -If you turn off the car while CarPlay is in use, it will launch CarPlay automatically on startup the next time you start the car, and it will automatically connect to your iPhone wirelessly. -From turning on the car to displaying CarPlay on the screen takes about 5-8 seconds. -Despite the screen being larger than most cars’ head units, Apple CarPlay scales nicely on the large display, and doesn’t look “blown up” to fit. STOCK HARDWARE/INSTALLATION: -My model-specific unit was plug and play. There was no splicing/wire-cutting required to fully install this unit. 100% plug and play. -Assigning steering wheel buttons is dead-easy, and highly configurable. It would be nice if you could assign a button to launch a specific app, but that is not available. -The backup camera works flawlessly. The screen snaps right to the backup camera as soon as I put the car in reverse. The large screen really shows off the low-resolution of the stock Subaru camera, but that’s no fault of Joying. JOYING LAUNCHER -The Joying launcher (operating system) is pretty nice, definitely better than my stock Subaru unit. It allows for a lot of control—more control than you get in most cars’ stock head units. (change music level while in reverse, set different screen brightness for when headlights are turned on, etc.) -Even if you intend to use CarPlay 100% of the time, you will still need to use the Joying launcher here and there to adjust system functions like adding new phones, adjusting steering wheel controls, etc. -Tethered to your phone, or on a wifi network, the Google Play store allows you to download many apps you would not typically find in a car (perhaps for good reason lol) such as HBO Max, Amazon Prime Video, Tinder, and many many others. -Oddly, once you download an app, you cannot reorganize the app menu on the Joying launcher. So you can’t put the app icons where you want them (unless i just haven’t figured it out. It definitely isn’t hold/drag/drop like you might expect). -The Home Screen of the Joying Launcher is also not configurable, which is a slight bummer. FIT & FINISH Since I purchased a model designed specifically for my car, the fit and finish was perfect. The plastic surrounding the climate vents and knobs was a perfect fit, which really ”sells” the unit in my car. While it doesn’t necessarily look “stock,” due to the fact that it’s a large screen that partially covers the air vents and climate knobs, it definitely looks like it belongs in the car. Not at all janky looking. SUMMARY This head unit is a major upgrade for anybody with a car that with even slightly outdated tech. When CarPlay is running, this display makes my Subaru look and feel like a Tesla. While the Joying software doesn’t feel as polished as maybe some of the nicest vehicles on the market, it is miles ahead of most cars’ software, and will feel that way. If you’re interested in putting this in your car, I definitely recommend checking the Joying website first to see if they make a model specific to your vehicle.
