They're fertilizer spiked so they are going to do their job with time. My only reason for taking one star is the cap they provide to drive them in the ground is just a soft, plastic cover that does not protect the spike from being damaged while driven into the ground. Just a little nitpick but it was completely useless after the 5th or 6th spike so I ended up using a PVC pipe cap that I had laying around to finish the job. Come on Jobes! What happened to the hard plastic cap that use to be with these spikes? ... show more

These fertilizer stakes from the Jobe's store are easy to place n the ground and do not break easily. They are much easier to use compared to liquid or powder fertilizers, since they need to be placed only twice, in the Fall and Spring. They save me time, and my trees are doing great. I bought these to fertilize my orange tree. So far, the tree seems to be doing well. I'll know more in the fall when the oranges ripen, at which time I can see how big they grow and how good they taste.

I used stakes exclusively this year for my Santa Clarita fruit orchard. It was wonderful that for the 1st time in 8 years my cherry trees gave a delicious crop for my family to enjoy. Also, got plenty of peaches, although smaller than average. The Pomegranate bushes bloomed plenty, but I don't see anywhere as much crop as last year. I gave away bags of them to friends, family, and the church pantry. I haven't seen my guava flower yet. Will see what happens with the citrus trees. Normally, I use the pellets and including miracle grow, except this year, I wanted to see what the stakes would do. So far, I am disappointed that I won't be getting an abundant pomegranate harvest. So at this point I'm not sure that the stakes are enough for all my trees with out adding additional fertilizers or products or maybe just need more stakes, the other issue is that I have clay soil. ... show more
