The Bad: - Possible fire hazard from included screw, which is too long, shorting on battery connector (see photos). I used a small washer on top and a small square of white gaffer's tape on the bottom of the adapter board. - The drive assembly doesn't sit flat because of the battery power cable. The final assembly appears to be under some stress; hopefully not enough to cause issues over the long term. - I had to remove the battery to install which requires the removal of a warranty sticker over a screw. - The adapter board is shipped with loose screws scratching against the board during shipping. The Good: - It allows for the installation of a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB or other similar large and fast drive. 8 times the stock storage size and considerably faster. 2TB appears to be the current limit for the smaller nvme drives supported without the adapter. - They are shipping a recent V5 version of the board. - I was able to get it shipped quickly with Amazon Prime. All the options I could find on eBay were shipping from China. I was originally going to give it three stars because the fire hazard they are creating by shipping a screw that can short onto the battery connector is a pretty big deal. However it's fairly easily remedied and this is a unique solution that I'm thankful is being provided. ... show more

I bought this and swapped out my old m.2 ssd for a full sized at a fraction of the cost. Saw a video on YouTube and took me less than 20 minutes. Used cloud recovery and have 2tb ssd now that I'm using. Really easy to install and delivery was fast it didn't ship from China.

Works great I've had it in my ally for a couple weeks and I have no problems I put the crucial t500 with heatsink and the highest temp I've seen it is 44C while running hogwarts legacy....I have also tested speed and it is indeed pcie 4.0
