  • LONG battery, Awesome for those with AuDHD sensitivities
Color: Sage Size: Headphones
I bought these a week ago to use while working from home. I have worn them for 8 hours straight every day this week answering calls on them, I listen to music while active, etc., and the batteries STILL haven't needed a charge! I'm seriously impressed by the battery life. I did not use noise cancelling for most of that time, but I did for a few hours and it's still going strong. I wear glasses so I expected the usual soreness from pressing my glasses into my temples, and I really searched for over-ears that wouldn't apply a lot of pressure. This is it! No headaches or ear pressure from prolonged wear, easy to toggle between noise cancelling, awareness, or neither. Seamlessly paired with my phone, two different laptops and a desktop. Used for Teams and Zoom meetings with no compatibility issues. They're a gorgeous green (my favorite color) and feel super durable and high quality. EXCELLENT value would buy these again. ... show more

  • Affordable over ear headphones
Color: Cloud White Size: Headphones
It took me a while to adjust to the sound quality and compared to my earbuds by a different manufacturer, but I've come to really enjoy it so far after a few months of using them. It takes some time to know which EQ settings work best for the audio you are playing (podcasts, music, etc.). I just recently flew on a plane with them and used the noise cancelling, which it's obviously not going to block out everything, but it helped subdue the overall intensity of the engines (like those high pitch acceleration sounds) and background chatter. I'm an anxious traveler, so I was glad I brought these, because I was surprised at how much it helped during the flight itself. When I had my music up enough, I really couldn't hear much of anything too, but I honestly had the music off for much of the flight because I guess the headphones did enough of what I needed it to do to stay relaxed and shut my eyes. Similarly, they do well on road trips to block out highway noise. Battery lasts a LONG time and also doesn't take terribly long to charge. Fast connect to Bluetooth. Notably super comfortable as it covers the entirety of my ear and doesn't press into my head to where it may cause some pain. My one con is that I don't really like how it essentially suctions itself to my ears, meaning it has zero breathability. It doesn't make me sweat or anything, but it may cause some head pressure sensitivity depending on what you're doing while wearing them. Sometimes I'll pull off one of the ears to the side to alleviate that buildup of pressure I've noticed if it's bothering me, but it's not enough for me to consider docking a star in my opinion, since I've been assuming it's a result of the ANC component. Haven't been bothered enough by it (yet) to looked into it I guess. Overall, I'd definitely recommend getting this pair if you're looking to get an overhead set, especially if you haven't had much or any experience with owning one. I got mine at maybe just over $40, so I advise checking in when these go on sale to snag a pair. ... show more

  • Excellent price point.
Color: Graphite Size: Headphones
The JLab JBuds Lux ANC headphones deliver an impressive amount of value for the price. The hybrid active noise cancellation works better than expected, cutting out most background noise during commutes or at work. They’re also extremely comfortable — the over‑ear design and soft cushions make long listening sessions easy. One of the biggest highlights is the battery life. With up to 70 hours of playtime, these last far longer than many premium brands, and the USB‑C charging is convenient and fast. Sound quality is solid: clear vocals, punchy bass, and enough customization through JLab’s sound modes to match different listening preferences. The build feels sturdy, and the foldable design makes them easy to pack. Touch controls are responsive, though they take a little getting used to. The two‑year warranty is a nice bonus and adds confidence in long‑term durability. If you’re looking for affordable ANC headphones that don’t feel cheap, the JBuds Lux ANC are a great pick. ... show more

  • Good value solid BT headphones, middling ANC
Color: Cloud White Size: Headphones
Viewed strictly as BT headphones, the JBUDS LUX are pretty decent. I find the sound quite good for movies and fine for casual music listening. The ANC and pass-through features are of some use, and the headphones are comfortable enough for, e.g., watching a movie, though the earcups don't "breathe" very well (I notice some reviewers refer to them as "sweaty", which is fair enough), so you'll probably want to take some breaks between calls (it makes a surprisingly good phone headset) or if listening to music for an extended period. If you're interested in knowing more, details follow. USE CASE (you can skip this if not interested): Just to provide context, I'll mention I bought these at an attractive price for dedicated use with my living room TV, which supports Bluetooth but puts the pairing/unpairing bits behind such cumbersome menus, and behaves so badly with dual-connect BT devices (forcing you to completely reset BT volume, etc., when the headphone's interrupted by another device), that I prefer to just keep a pair of headphones paired exclusively to that TV. Since I normally listen through a home theater sound system, I prefer to use more value-priced headphones for such occasional private-listening use. SOUND QUALITY: It's what headphones are for, and the JBUDS LUX does the basics competently. They're replacing my old blue JBL E55BT phones (which were getting a bit the worse for wear, various bits of plastic trim breaking and the earcup cushions falling apart), and get pretty close to those in sound quality, the JBL being a bit "brighter", the JLAB's high end a bit more subdued, for what that's worth (no EQ tuning with the app for this comparison since I'm pairing them directly with a TV); as TV headphones they're kinda great. I'm no audio critic, but I've watched some music videos with them and there's nothing distracting about their performance, which is more than I can say for some other bargain headphones I've tried. Switching to them directly from my Bose one can notice less distinct highs and less overall "warmth" to the sound, but heard on their own they're perfectly fine. ANC FEATURES: Overall noise-canceling performance is a bit unusual. First off, hats off to JLAB for having an actual OFF option in the ANC control cycle, not just an ANC/aware toggle. In cases where neither ANC nor pass-through is needed, turning those off maximizes the already long battery life, a welcome option. Passive sound isolation is pretty good, so I usually have the ANC turned off. As for the ANC itself, my experience has differed from reviewers that claim turning on the ANC does less than the headphones' passive sound isolation, in that my own casual testing showed significant noise reduction. It probably depends on what sounds you're trying to cancel - it works best at reducing the volume of continuous background noise like fans, road noise, etc., not so much for more transient sounds. So it's somewhat effective and not very sophisticated, and that's about what I'd expect for this price point. I won't be taking them on an airplane (where my Bose QC 45s do really well), so we'd need feedback from someone who's tried that for more of a torture test. The headphones' "aware" mode is a different matter, and unlike what I've experienced on other headphones offering a pass-through feature. It's quite functional, but somewhat low fidelity. While it's easy to hear your surroundings in this mode, sound quality is somewhat boxy/tinny, a bit better than an old landline phone (should you be old enough to recall ever hearing such a thing). The Bose headphones mentioned above are my daily drivers for music and podcasts, and by comparison has such natural sounding pass-through I sometimes forget I have them on. That's not something that would happen with the JBUDS LUX. MICROPHONE: Especially in light of the so-so pass-through sound quality, one surprising feature that bears mention is the microphone quality on phone calls or meetings. Folks on the other end of the line tell me the sound matches or surpasses that of my old Sennheiser and current Bose headphones. I tend to prefer boom mics, but apparently what's built into these earcups is better than I'd have expected, so on top of everything else it would be a good phone headset. COMFORT AND BUILD QUALITY: These are quite comfortable for value headphones. Both the earcups and headband are well-padded, and the adjustment mechanism feels solid, with satisfying detents to make it easy to return to your preferred setting after, e.g., collapsing for storage. The controls are also satisfying to use, with enough tactile feedback to ease operating by touch alone (more on this below). The earcup pads are covered with a soft vinyl-type material while the part of the headband sitting atop your head is fabric-covered. I think fabric earcup pads would have improved comfort, since the material covering the stock pads doesn't really breathe too well, though this would likely compromise the sound isolation a bit. Going back to the Bose QC 45 as reference, its protein leather earcup pads breathe well enough that I've worn them on multi-hour plane flights without my ears getting uncomfortably warm. You'll want to take occasional breaks from the JBUDS LUX. CONTROLS: The controls are easy to operate and do the job quite well. The three control surfaces are: - a round button on top to cycle through ANC settings (ANC, aware/passthrough, off) - a rocker/toggle in the middle to handle volume (just click once in either direction to go up or down), track skip (push and hold to jump forward or back, though as with any such control the exact behavior will depend on the specific device or application), or cycling through EQ presets (press both sides of the toggle at once). - a round button at the bottom that handles power, BT pairing, call answer, and even summoning your Google/Siri assistant. I got used to these quite quickly even with limited use. Like a lot of modern BT devices, the JBUDS LUX provides voice prompts for certain events like startup, shutdown, etc. The voice is clear and easily understood, though I'd note the mild disappointment in its tone when saying "JLAB off" is amusing. One small thing worth mentioning is that the headphones not only report their level of charge to your paired device (if, e.g., your phone shows you this), but also announce the state of charge during power-up. That voice info is really useful in my case, since the TV I'm using doesn't report battery level for connected BT devices. I make special mention of this because the EB55BT, like some other JBL speakers and headphones I've owned, never reports battery level at all, just produces an annoying beep when the battery is "low" (whatever that is) that gets more frequent until you charge it back up (or the headphones just stop, I guess). VALUE/RATING: Something to consider in assessing the value of these is the price. I got them on Prime Days for less than $50, but they're currently closer to $80, which is getting close to the "on sale" price of some better hardware. That said, the price on the JBUDS LUX swings about quite a bit, so maybe put it in your shopping list and keep an eye out for buying opportunities. For $50 this is a 5-star value, but the listed "full" price knocks this down to a four-star. ... show more

  • ACTUALLY LOVE!!!
Color: Mauve Size: Headphones
I originally got these for my plane ride so I had noise cancelling headphones. I have used jlab earbuds before but never used over the ear headphones. Let me tell you..... These are the ONLY over the ear headphones I will ever use. They work fantastic, have the option for adaptive listening, & cancel out 99% of the noise around you, especially in a plane. They are easily portable since they basically fold in half for storage. I bought a little case and just strapped it to my personal item. They fit well over my ears, are able to stretch for those with larger heads, and EARRINGS ARE NO PROBLEM! I have sensitive ears and these headphones did not bother me a bit. Connecting via Bluetooth was super easy, and they auto-connect well every time to my devices when I have turned them on. I also used these for a workout sesh on vacation and man they are SUPERIOR to ear buds. I got VERY sweaty and these headphones didn't slide around one bit. They stayed exactly in place and didn't leave a gross smell on them after working out. I have only had them about a week and can't speak for their durability, but they are very cost-effective. I have dropped them on the ground in the case and nothing has happened to them so far. ... show more

  • I LOVE THEM.
Color: Sage Size: Headphones
A friend of mine recommended these to me after trying hers on and showing me the noise cancelling feature. INCREDIBLE. I had a pair of JBL’s and they didn’t cover my ears all of the way and for the price, were extremely uncomfortable and annoying due to them sliding often on top of my head. With the feature on, it shuts everything else out and it’s the most serene feeling listening to music or an audio book/podcast episode. Highly recommend for anyone that has adhd, is on the autism spectrum, anxiety, and overall just wants a functional set of the most comfortable headphones that feel like little clouds over your ears! Also, for the price - VERY worth it. They often go on sale also with a coupon so just keep watch! And adjusting them is very easy and they STAY IN PLACE! I went with the Sage Green color and at first when I opened them, they looked Navy until I turned my light on. They definitely match the color! ... show more

  • New favorite go to headphones for work
Color: Mauve Size: Headphones
I love these! I was looking for a lighter weight but durable wireless headphone. I wear headphones almost 24/7 and have been looking for a pair that are comfortable but will still stay on over time (not lose its snugness). This is my 7th pair that I’ve tried out and easily one of my favorite pair! They are light weight and sound great, the noise cancelling works for my use. I wear these for work a lot, it’s nice for an all day wear without hurting your head or ears! The color is cute:) my niece always wants to use these when she comes over. I’ve had these for a few months now and I can say the quality has held up wonderfully, and still are just as snug as when I got them. ... show more

  • Awesome deal
Color: Mauve Size: Headphones
Who else is here after reading William's review? Lol. It was so enthusiastic and convincing and these happened to be on sale for Prime Day so I went for it. I have a pair of Beats Studio Pro headphones and the noise cancelling feature just malfunctioned. I can still use them but with no NC. I'm unimpressed with the sound quality on those especially at their price point. The battery is amazing but the the sound feels distant and the headphones are tight on my head and squish my ears which starts to hurt after hours of use. I actually had them on when I pulled these JLab headphones out of the box and immediately felt relief when I put these on instead. There's a noticeable difference in the audio as well. These sound soooo much better. Not as good as my AirPods because those sound fully immersive (battery is not good though at just 2.5 hours), but these sound pretty good compared to the Beats Studio Pro headphones. I can't give long term impressions yet because I just got these but so far I'm thrilled with the comfort and the sound and the ANC feature. My only gripe, which is so minor but worth mentioning, is that the Mauve looks a just a hint more dusty purple in the photos but in person it leans mostly gray with a hint of purple. Again, not a huge deal because the difference is so slight but this was a little disappointing for me. However, at $45 with tax included I'm really happy I got these. My Beats headphones are now sitting on a stand and I'm likely going to switch to using these regularly. ... show more
