TLDR at bottom I am writing this as a tech enthusiast who has a wife who gets lost when changing the batteries in the remote control. I own several JLab products, including standalone microphones and earbuds/pods. Furthermore, I believe that they create a quality product. Their instructions and support team are, however, severely lacking. I am writing this review in hopes that it will assist another customer in having a stellar experience. The instructions provided with the product, JLab website, and many of the forum boards lack some basic information on how to troubleshoot the ear pods/buds. All the JLab instructions for the buds/pods begin with: AUTO-CONNECTING EARBUDS Press and hold both buttons 3+ seconds to power ON. One earbud blinks blue/white, indicating ready to pair to your device. A tech novice has a problem when the instructions don't include what to do when this does not happen right out of the box. If I wasn't a tech junky or stubborn, I would have shipped them back in defeat. So, after contacting the tech support line, scouring the forums and message boards, and doing a little troubleshooting on my own, here is what I learned. TLDR; The earbuds/pods are stored on the shelf for an extended period of time. These devices are manufactured and shipped with a limited battery charge. Occasionally, when you receive them, they are not recognized in the charger as needing to take on a charge. You will need to remove and replace them in the charging dock until the blue indicator light turns off, then repeat. This process adds a little juice to the pod/bud until, eventually, it starts charging. Once the blue charging lights stay on more than a few seconds, they have enough of a charge for the charging dock to continue charging without you having to remove the pods/buds. I had to perform the remove and replace process 60+ times before the pods/buds had enough of a charge to continue the process on its own. Once the pods/buds had a decent charge, the steps for pairing included in the instructions work as written.     • Perfect for a work environment, App is a battery killer for the ear buds.
I've owned these for 2 months and love them. I read a lot about how these headphones are quite and the volume on them is weak compared to other headsets, and they aren't wrong, but let me tell you why the low volume is a design feature and not a flaw in the headset. I work in a weld shop and wearing headsets is not allowed. Foam ear plugs only. If a supervisor or shift lead approach and say a persons name and the person does not respond, they are asked to remove their helmet and show their ears, if the person is wearing earbuds or a headset they will receive a safety write up. These are perfect in a work setting as they muffle as much sounds as foam earbuds, the volume can also play super low, so i can listen to music and still hear if someone is approaching by or calling me from a short distance. I can also hold a conversation with someone without having to turn down to mute. The app is garbage, only thing useful is turning off the touch and heat sensors. these sensors are super touchy, i found these to be more efficient with them turned off. also, the app auto sets both ANC and Aware Mode, always set these to off, these should be on one or the other but not at the sametime. why have them set at the sametime? if you cant hear turn down the music or turn off ANC, if outside noise is too loud turn off aware mode, having both on i'm sure this leads to stressing out the processors in the headset leading to failed sound quality, it also drains the battery down to a couple hours instead of 12. I cant use be aware mode in the weld shop because the sharp banging of metal stresses out the microphone, The ANC works well, I don't use it though because I want to hear my outside noises. Be aware is excellent if a person is on a trail or walking around at night, its pretty wicked, i can hear the smallest sounds when it is activated, its akin to wearing night vision at night. ANC works well on an airplane, it took out all sounds, all i could hear was what was playing from my phone. Battery life is great, as long as the headset is NOT CONNECTED TO THE APP, sensors off (heat/touch - headphones can still be turned off and on by pressing for 3 seconds), both ANC and be aware is turned off, and the headset is being played from 2 or 3 clicks away from mute. I can get a consistent 10 hours from the headset, I do play it loud from time to time. I got 14 hours from it one time and I am wondering how that happened, only thing I could think of I was not playing music for a couple hours. the battery case will last 4 - 5 charging sessions. all in all, these are perfect for work or a work environment. ... show more

    • Did not work on arrival but Jlab send me another pair.
The earbuds did not work on arrival. The batteries in the headphones couldn't hold any charge. After some research it seemed I was not the only one with this issue. So I contacted JlAb. They acknowledged the problem and they gave me a credit amount to purchase again at JLab. I ordered the same earbuds and received them within a couple of days. Again it was not as straightforward as their manual describes but they work. So for the original shipment it should be 0 stars, but now 3 stars for the costumers service. No 5 stars because it took me some time to get them operational. They are a present for my wife, so I cannot say anything about the sound quality or noise cancellation. But you can find a lot of videos on this matter on Youtube. ... show more

    • I like the JLAB ear buds and the charging case. But one ear bud came apart.
I liked everything about the JLAB ear bud and charging case until one ear bud came apart. So I am hoping that I just got a defective ear bud. I did order another a whole new set. I purchased the set that I have on October 3 2021 so I know that they will last that long. I was going to add a photo of the ear but the photo and video won’t let me add it even after I gave them access to my photos go figure. ... show more

    • NEVER WORKED
This was my 3rd pair of J Lab ear buds. The other 2 i got I loved but after 2 years they were wearing out. They still work but I needed another pair for work so I ordered a 3rd pair of the same ear buds but this pair is a lemon. The right ear bud doesnt work and unable to pair even after trying to reset and do EVERYTHING in their troubleshooting guide. This is a major disappointment because I loved the first two pairs I got and wanted a newer pair to use at work. I despise having to go through the return/warranty process so now I have to decide if I am gonna even bother or maybe look at a different brand ... show more
