I was very pleased at the ease of assembly and quality of the product. Only small issue I had was trying to use a manual screwdriver to install the handles on the drawers. I found that using a cordless drill, I was able to install the screws for the handles and the wheels with ease. On my drill, I set the torque to 2, for just enough force to not overtighten. I like that the drawer rails were pre-installed, and handle and wheel holes, while not pre-drilled, were pre-marked. Overall, the process of assembly was a breeze, and I am very happy with the overall fit and finish of the final assembled cabinet. Like the title says, this is a very stylish and functional cabinet that does well to hide some of my desk junk. The only caveat is that because it's not a sturdy steel cabinet, the larger bottom drawer has to be installed with a caster on the bottom. This allows the drawer to be opened easier and prevents tipping over. I have hard wood floors and this drawer never seems to stay closed. Then, because of the weight, it's a bit hard to close. I don't open it that much so it's not a deal breaker but still annoying. Assembly wasn't as bad as some people have complained it was. Yes, there are a lot of parts and can seem intimidating but it didn't take me very long to put this together. ... show more

This is an attractive piece of furniture. It is very sturdy. It did require two people to assemble it. The process was not hard but there were times when one person needed to be holding firmly to keep parts aligned while the other tightened screws or fasteners. We are pleased with this purchase.

The only thing I didn't like is that a couple of parts (like where the wheels go) you had to use an electric drill because the holes were just dots so you had to make the holes (with the drill). I bought this file cabinet by its pretty design. Here are the pros and cons from my point of view. Pros: 1. Pretty design. I like how it make color different from the front and the rest. 2. It is mobile and comes with wheels, you can move it around if needed. The bottom draw has a wheel itself, I am not sure the reason of it. Maybe it wants the wheel to hold some weight when pulling out the drawing. But I find it not convenient when moving the whole cabinet. 3. Price is fair, not very expensive 4. Compact size, not very tall so it fits well under my standing desk. 5. Good customer service, there was a broken part. I contacted them and they shipped the replacement very quickly. Cons: 1. Wood quality is just so so, it is not solid wood. 2. Because it is not solid wood, some parts with drill-holes can be easily fallen apart if you use too much strength during installation. So be gentle. 3. Assemble is not easy. It took me about 1-2 hours to install. Install instruction is not very clear. But it is not a big problem for me. But for people are not very handy, might take some time to figure out. ... show more

We recently moved into a smaller place and didn't have room for the the larger file cabinet and extra desk. We had a computer desk with one small drawer and we're looking for just this sort of cabinet to give us one file drawer and two more desk drawers that could fit under the desk and make good use of the otherwise dead space. This is PERFECT and seems sturdy enough. It was easy to assemble and I like the casters on both the cabinet (if I need to pull it further out from under the desk) and on the front of the file cabinet drawer to support the weight of the drawer while opening, which is currently loaded down pretty full. This might be a problem on a thickly carpeted rug, but on our hardwood everything works smoothly. Highly recommend, especially for a specific application like ours. ... show more

update: This thing fell apart in Dec. Threw it away. Original review: This item gets mixed reviews. Mixed review usually do not bother me so I bought this ... right price and enough people had a good experience that I took a chance. This could be a quality of control issue ... some people get a good cabinet ... some don't. I didn't. It was a pain to put together ... mainly because it kept falling apart in the process. When we finally got it to stand ... it still comes apart at some places (See pic) I keep a screwdriver handy to "tighten" the different areas ... never stays. I'm probably going to use some wood glue to make it stick together. I thought about returning it ... but then I would have to take it apart when what I felt like was ripping it apart. I've kept it. I don't need it to be real sturdy. I haven't put heavy stuff in it and I don't move it so maybe it will last a little while. ... show more

This is a nice, sturdy little file cabinet that works well and was easy to assemble. The only glitch came at the very end, when I went to put the drawers in. They went in fine, but the side-to-side alignment of the rails was off. The drawers still slide easily, and it does not affect functionality, but it does make it look bad. I checked my work assembling, and it was just one of the factory jigs that must have been misaligned or a worker having a bad Monday.... I suppose I could have taken the whole thing apart and corrected the problem or sent it back, but it just wasn't worth the effort to do that for something that isn't that important for a home office file cabinet that won't be seen by too many people anyway. For the cost, this cabinet gets the job done perfectly for me. ... show more
