I ordered this JIUFENTIAN Back Brace for Lower Backs in anticipation of getting to review a back brace with a couple of high end features, the first thing I noticed was the four elastic band radiating from the lumbar area which converted to two elastic stretch bands per side to get just the right amount of compression you feel necessary for your brace to work effectively for you, personally I prefer a tight fit encompassing my entire lower back and I wasn't disappointed. Typically it seems that most brace sizing charts break down to where I'm able to wear a smaller size (I usually measure near the upper end of the smaller size) but I've learned that I usually get a better fit by going to the next size up (probably due to my preference of wearing them over my clothes instead of under) and in this case I went from a Large to an Extra Large. I love being able to review all sorts of lower back braces for typically new products being brought to the market place by sellers through Amazon, some have been not so good where other are what I consider to be a mid or average grade and they suffice with providing help with lower back issues and then you have some that are obviously designed to be head and shoulders above the others. This model with it current features to me is slightly above the average grade but I was disappointed in only two metal stays in the back area being used and I would have positioned on them on the outside of the brace so as not to have the possibility of the fabric pockets irritating the bare skin for those who apply them under their clothing. I liked the steel springs on the side to discourage rolling up of the brace's side fabric while seated and I assume the ABS Thermoplastic is placed in the Lumbar region for its' ability to conform to the contour of the spine but a soft removable foam Lumbar Pad would have been useful to cover up its' interior pocket as well. I feel like the retail price is slightly higher than the current features warrant but with their discount coupon it brings it down to a reasonable amount. I'm removing one star since I feel this brace could use two more metal stays, preferably aluminum memory stays... As a cautionary note since this seller didn't list any (some do and some don't along with their braces) I would like to add that after my full lower back fusion with plates and screws due to my heavy weight training during my younger days, especially with squats, often when I have had a follow-up with my physical therapist in the past few years for rehab treatment, every so often she likes to remind me that overusing a lower back brace can lead to muscle weakness, reliance on the brace, and potentially increased risk of future injuries, as the back muscles become less active and reliant on external support so now I primarily use mine in spurts during my projects around my home or while I'm hiking in order to try and stave off my Sciatica flare-ups. So be careful of the long term wearing of any lower back brace and before you do please consult with your personal physician or your physical therapist...
