I thought there would be at least a reasonably thick pile, but I must have mis-read the write-up on it, because there is none. It is basically a vinyl or rubber back with a think vinyl design over it. But it does what I wanted it to, which is cover part of the cold stone tiles in the kitchen, and it looks like the picture, which is the design I wanted. That's why it gets four stars. If you're looking for a comforting, deep pile rug that's washable, this is not it. But if you're looking for a thin, pretty floor covering at a reasonable price, you've found it. ... show more

This was a very nice rug, soft and laid flat right away. The problem for me was that the color described as cream, was quite pinkish. Seems to be an issue with a lot of these rugs. Just be sure to check reviews before buying. I had to return my rug.
