  • Iyv chibson is excellent 👌
My chibson turned out good.i wanted a Randy Rhodes gold and black les paul. I dont care about perfect guitars vs functionality and playability, and stays in tune well. Now I bought this new and it came as expected, very minimal setup needed , and played well after a tightening up the strings and checked pickups and pots for correct functions. After passing all the tests, and taking a few pics I made list of parts to change out for esthetics, and made a descent guitar for half or less than a epiphone or Gibson. It looks good to me, and I like it. So thats all that matters to me. It makes some folks sick to drill or modify there instrument, and I do all my own setups, and learn from it. This one had a pickup re drilled and the fit was a bit off for the pick guard , but a dremel fixes alot of issues w these generic parts that need fitted up or trimmed ,and sanded to fit clean.iyv make some good guitars, for players , not perfect guitars for collectors. Buy a wall art epiphone if you want a perfect guitar to look at, buy a iyv if you want to play one without worry of scratches, or dents as these are a good build , and very affordable. My pickup set was more than. The whole guitar but on all my guitars I get emg pickups, and hot rod electronics. After upgrades my iyv guitars are almost studio quality, I love to tinker with these and get them playing spectacular. ... show more

  • Decent LP copy from IYV
Very nice budget LP copy. I bought this for $100 plus tax when Amazon had the 30% off coupon. When I received the guitar it had some cosmetic issues (small paint chip/scratches on front lower bout and a small sliver of fretboard wood damage on 1st fret by the nut/binding). Contacted Amazon customer support to ask for a replacement and they told me to KEEP the guitar and refunded my ENTIRE purchase price. Great customer support from Amazon!! I did the normal setup on the guitar, polished frets, repaired/ cleaned and conditioned the fretboard , etc. The guitar plays great and stays in tune with the stock tuners. FWIW, I also have a Epi Limited Edition Les Paul Traditional PRO-II for comparison. The Epi is a little bit better built guitar but I honestly enjoy playing this IYV guitar more. The cheap pots, switch, pickups were all functional. The pickups are hot and sound good both clean and dirty. I decided to upgrade the pots, 3-way switch and add full coil splits on the neck and bridge. I can get some nice tones (not true single coil) with the variable configurations. Nit picky: I didn't like the cream pickguard/pickup frames and gold control knobs so decided to replace with all black pickguard and speed knobs. Conclusion: This is a great cheap guitar but you should expect to have some quality issues. This is my 3rd IYV guitar and have yet to receive one without some problems. They are fun to mod and can be made into really nice instruments provided you take the time to do your own setup/upgrades. I've spent $60 in parts and about 7 hours of my own time on this one and it's as good as the Epi. So....Don't be afraid to do your own guitar setups and mods. ... show more

  • Fantastic
This IYV LP style guitar is superb in every facet. The finish is and binding are well done. The shape is not an exact clone of a Les Paul. The horn is pointier and the upper bout curves down toward the neck a bit (like a tele). The neck is thin and plays easily. Frets are perfect. The nut is cut properly and tuners are good. The guitar came with a straight neck and was intonated perfectly. The heel on the back is designed ergonomically and allows easy playing high up the neck. This detail is superior to any Gibson at any price. The pickups are surprisingly good. Loud and hot and sound good both clean & distorted. Even the strings are good. This one is a keeper. ... show more

  • Modded Jimmy Page Les Paul
The pickups are ok for metal but not so much classic rock or jazz. I replaced them with Seymour Duncan whole lotta humbuckers for Jimmy Page tone. When you play it thru a jhs superbolt pedal it’s classic Led Zeppelin tone. Other than that the tuners are fine, action and intonation are spot on, and it’s nice and light for a Les Paul. Compared to the IYV green les Paul, the green is mahogany with a maple top which is heavier with more sustain than the black les Paul, due to the latter having a poplar body. For me this one was a deal for $100 with a coupon, allowing me to spend more on replacing the pickups & im very happy with it. Even the pickguard had the same thickness as my epiphany les Paul. ... show more

  • BEST GUITARS ON AMAZON HANDS DOWN !
Once again IYV HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK !!!! Alnico magnets in these pickups ( I pulled one), no finish flaws ( guitar is a real Black Beauty !) neck material is getting darker which is great to see, I'll say it again - I had a Fujigen Squire Strat from 1986. These are classic , sought after instruments because they have a real magic to them, a dynamic responsiveness that makes you just want to wear yourself out playing it. IYV SINGLE CUTS GUITARS ARE THE EXACT SAME in this regard, in my honest opinion. Haven't tested the pickups but they are probably around 8k maybe bridge and 7.5 neck ? I say that because of the amount of gain you have to use to break up the amp is similar to my other guitars with vintage output pickups. I'd like to see a little more packing material in the box my guitar box came dented and in fact my guitar was lightly scuffed on the bottom. I'm keeping it as I can just buff it out, but a little more foam might have done the trick. I'm sure yours will be fine. Buy with CONFIDENCE ! These are BETTER than Epiphones - yeah the $1,200 dollar ones... better than so many competitors and yet, for now at least, you can still get them for a real bargain... I own 5 of these in different colors and in some I've changed tuners and pickups. I don't always find modding guitars to be worth it, but I definitely do with IYV LS300-340, etc... in fact, after I sell an Agile these will be the only instrument I play and I play professionally. The guitars I have gotten rid of to keep these invclude a Gibson Lespaul Studio.... I'm fine with it... come see why ! ... show more
