Really large bags, I used in 5 to 8 gallon pots and buckets but that is just a fraction of what they can hold. I like the fine mesh that keeps in most particles, but still drains fast. Besides brewing and winemaking, I use these to make dye baths from plant matter. Most recently I boiled chunks of Osage orange wood in the bags for about 36 hours to extract dye. Bags are very sturdy and show no sign of wear after a few uses. They wash out cleanly without problem, and while probably machine washable, I haven’t felt the need for that. When using butter muslin (very tightly woven cheesecloth) for filters, I often need to put them In the wash to get them clean. ... show more

This is my first time purchasing one of these. I needed something for my first attempt at making Jamaican sorrel. Normally you're supposed to dump everything in hot water and strain After the batch is complete but I did all my brewing and straining in this nifty bag making cleanup a breeze in my tiny apartment kitchen. The bag is not sheer so you can't see through the bag but it's sturdy and the stitching is reinforced and holds up to squeezing juice from your pulp. This bag was larger than I expected and or needed but I'll be keeping it for larger Christmas batches. I'll try and find pictures to attach later. These bags have plenty of room to fit down into a large pot and roll over the top. Other bags have had loose threads abounding and getting wrapped around the spoon, but not these. They are very clean along the seams. I have not used them yet, but I believe they will work great.

Not much stretch to it but I did get it to stretch onto a 32 gallon garage can. The seam did start to stretch out...BUT it held and did not break the stitch! Cleaning the back was as easy as flipping inside out and spraying clean.Fabric is actually better than my expensive brew bags. Only thing I added to mine was a drawstring clip to hold before I knot the bag. This bag is worth the money if you treat it right!! ... show more

The seams appear to be sturdy, we know from experience these bags eventually wear out. But so far they are holding up nicely. Happy to have gotten these just in time for fall grapes!

I was a bit worried at first with it being wider than it is tall, but it fit perfectly in the stainless grain basket. The quality is much better than most ive seen. Seams look great. As well made as these are it will be quite some time before I'll need the second one!
