The pellets themselves are great and easy to use, but the base and transparent lid are very flimsy. I used two bases together to firm it up, but a slightly sturdier base would be a big improvement.     • Easy to use but very little germination
I purchased as an alternative to the traditional seed trays I've used in the past because they seemed more convenient than dealing with seed starter. I followed the instructions carefully, planting 2 or 3 broccoli, cauliflower, or cabbage seeds in each pod. I kept them covered with the humidity dome, and they stayed consistently moist. Of the 15 pods I planted, only 3 germinated. Since this experiment proved to be a failure, I started additional seeds (from same seed packets) in regular seed trays with seed starter mix. Within 3 days all the seeds in the trays had germinated. Obviously the issue wasn't with the seeds. I think I'll stick with the tried and true process I've used for years. ... show more

    • Does not germinate seeds as well as comparable products
I purchased this along with another brand. Planted the same seeds in both. All of the seeds in the other tray germinated but in the Jiffy tray, only 1 plant came up. I'm guessing it's something with the soil. Not going to buy again.

    • Cheap, flimsy, plastic lids pop off and won't maintain the humidity. Effectively useless.
I received two of these exact seed starting trays. The covers, on both, fail to stay on the tray. I've had multiple people attempt to get the cover to stay on either tray, and they pop open every time, LETTING OUT THE HUMIDITY. I also have a larger tray from Jiffy, and it is doing the exact same thing. - Useless if the lid won't stay on to maintain humidity. ... show more
