    • These are fire hazards, they DO NOT TRIP
I just tested two of them before installing on our sailboat. The 125A seemed a little squirrelly, as it did not "click" when tripped manually. So, being suspicious, I tested it by shorting it directly across a car battery. The wire sparked as expected but the breaker did not trip. I then tested a 20A version. Shorted directly from 12V hot to ground with a big (AWG4) wire. Again the wire sparked well, but the circuit breaker did not trip. These are not circuit breakers, they are fire hazards. These are sold on Amazon for Car/RV/Marina applications, but interestingly they are NOT sold by West Marine, Defender, etc. Now it is clear why. ... show more
