I recently got these lights for my bedroom TV, and they’ve been a great addition, especially when watching music videos and concerts. It’s really cool how they sync with the music, adding to the immersion. The 16.4ft strip is perfect, going all the way around my TV with some to spare, which I ran across the middle instead of cutting it off. I haven’t tried the app since I’m cautious about downloading obscure apps for products, but the remote does the job well. Extremely easy install! I used mine for under my desk to provide ambient lighting, and it was just right for lining the underside of it. Nice that you can cut it to length although I didn't need to. Colors match up to the remote, and I love that it’s USB. Takes up much less space than a plug in.
