You spent months hearing the begging and whining and pleading and screaming and crying and negotiating and "but Jimmy got one" and arguing and....you get the point. After many months of saving up and many nights of fighting with yourself over giving in, you finally make a decision. You are going to the store and you are going to come home wearing your spandex suit with that famous SuperMom/SuperDad cape. Wear it proudly! On the way home, you think about the look on your little angel's face as you step in the door. They see what you have and immediately stop what they are doing. They run to you with great joy and abandon. They gush all over you. They should. You are SuperMom/SuperDad! They help you carry everything in and put it away for you. While you walk over to connect the new system up, they quickly run to their rooms and clean them. They do the laundry. They clean the kitchen and bathroom, then take out the garbage. Every thing in the world is perfect. You sit down and the kids beg you to go first. Everything is perfect. Everyone shares and is so nice to each other. Ahh. Pure perfection! As you pull into the drive way, you step out of your car, walk up to the front door, and open it, expecting everything you dreamed of. Then........ Ever had that moment when you buy something you know your kids are going to love and then realize, HOLY COW! WHAT WAS I THINKING!?! I spent HOW much on this, and I am supposed to just give it to those little monsters. Then the panic and anxiety sets in. You can't take it back cause your kids will be crushed and you can't give it to your kids cause they will crush it. Yeah, I had that moment right after I brought the Nintendo Switch home. But never fear, this wonderful case fixed at least one problem. It is sturdy and durable. It feels like a pliable hard shell case. The 2 controllers attach to the console and snugly fit inside the case. To put it on the charger, you do have to take the case off, but it's not so bad. Also, the screen will not fit inside the case without the controllers. We have a 2 sets of controllers, so we leave one set on and fit it in the case, while they play on the 2nd set of controllers. While I still get to hear the screaming, crying, whining, arguing, and fighting over who's turn it is, at least my little mons...er...angels were somewhat appreciative....at least until they started begging me for a 2nd one.

This is way more than a protective case obviously, the beauty of this case is the grips on the side. This allows for the much needed comfort of playing mechanically intensive games and prolonged playing. Now this isn't like an XBOX or PS4 controller grip where you fully grasp with with your fingers for full comfort, but it's the closest you can get in Handheld mode... And it's pretty darn great. No more cramping hands awkwardly trying to play games on this slab! Another thing you'll notice immediately after putting on this case is the weight it adds to the console. This could be a pro or a con depending on your preferences, but for me personally, I feel the weight, along with the grips, adds a lot to the rigidity of the console and allows for more precise gameplay on games like Splatoon 2 and Celeste, it just feels more solid. Another HUGE pro of the case, JOY-CONS ARE 100% SECURE WHILE PLAYING! Ever notice how, in an intense session of gaming, due to the awkwardness of holding the system, how the Joy-Cons sometimes rock around in their railings to the console? This doesn't happen with this case, which makes the whole thing one piece and feel very rigid, and I'm confident this will PRESERVE THE BUILD INTEGRITY OF THE SYSTEM AND IT'S JOY-CONS. And of course, you have access to the kickstand, which some cases don't allow. CON!!! The only con for me making this 4 stars is that the lip around the top and left corners somewhat obstruct the L and R buttons, and can make for an awkward and impractical button-press. what I did was shave it down with a razor (seen in the photo (sorry, forgot to take before pics)) to remove a lot of the obstruction. It is made of a VERY tough material so I don't think this piece being a little thinner will damage it's integrity too much. Hopefully in the future, JETech takes note of this and adjusts their design for future customers, because this is a GREAT PRODUCT!

I had high hopes for this case since it looked promising. The joy con grip protectors were actually decent. I just wasn’t a big fan of how they couldn’t connect to the joycon controller that wasn’t even as bad as compared to the main tablet screen protector because they claim it’s dockable which I promise you it is not it’s not doackable whatsoever more so what I was really concerned about but I just made sure I had perfect grip with it as long as you have the right grip with it. It shouldn’t slip out of the tablet but the fact the matter it feels like no one should have to worry about that when they have a case protector for the Nintendo switch, I just noticed that was another flaw of the case protector for the tablet. It feels like it could slip out at any given wrong angle. I do not recommend this to anybody whatsoever. They have a lot of work to do to improve their flaws.

A great accessory for the Nintendo Switch to cure those cramping hands!

I usually don't write reviews but this one seemed to have some complaints based on peoples hand size and the obstruction of the R and L bottons. I have to say this item fits the switch perfect and is a very well made product. I didn't necessarily buy this case to protect my switch, but the material is quite solid and would definitely assist with protecting the unit if it were dropped. For me, I wanted at case that provided grips for comfort. The grips stick out just enough (not too much) to make gameplay much more comfortable as the unit now fits in the palms your hands as opposed to balancing with your fingers. The R/L button situation doesn't seem to be a problem to me as I have no issues utilizing those buttons with the case on the unit. The unit also still fits in my Insignia travel case with the protective case installed so that is a plus. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a case for their switch to assist with comfort and protection.

Undockable but flexible for easy removal. Plastic is smooth but the hand grips don't do much.

When deciding for a case for my switch, my options were to get a dockable type without hand grips, or an undockable kind with grips. I opted for the latter considering how much more often I was playing in the handheld mode than docked to the tv. With that said, I'm still a little bummed there hasn't been a design that allows both options... The material of this case is sturdy enough to protect, but soft enough to easily remove from when I want to dock the switch. I haven't had any issues with it being stuck, nor have I needed to force any section too strongly. It's a smooth plastic without any hard ridges that doesn't rub against any areas on your skin wrongly (like when the seams of some cheap plastic items come together, it can be this unsightly and obtrusive raised line). Even with the case on, my switch can still fit in my travel bag which leaves a little bit of extra space that the hand grips take up. Unfortunately, some of my fingers will still fall asleep, even after just 10 minutes of playing. I believe this is due to the hand grips not being large enough. It's a catch-22; a more effective and hand-fitting case would be hideous and probably not fit in a travel bag (depending what kind you have), so I guess the design was a little less bulky but more "with the case on, you're a little less likely to drop it, but it's still not as great as an actual joy con grip". Maybe my qualms with the item are unfixable, or maybe having larger grips is simply something designers/companies don't feel appealed to do, but for that, I would say that this case is just okay. It protects the switch, but with minute hand grips that hardly improve the handheld experience (which was my main concern), I would've just gotten a flat, dockable case instead.

I got this grip case because I use my switch on the go a lot. Pros: +The grips behind the switch feels nice to hold for long play sessions. Case feels nice and sturdy. + Has a cutout for the built-in stand to flip out and/or to swap microSD cards. +Covers every corner of the switch (sides) +Slim enough to fit in the original switch hand case. Cons - You can’t dock it with it on. And I docked my switch all the time when I am home. Have to take case off before dock. - The bumper buttons (upper triggers) are harder to press since they are recessed inside the case cutouts. -Joycons are not removable with this case on. This may become annoying for some users. (Especially those who unmount and mount their joy’s. -A tad tricky to get on and off. But once you know the method then it is easy to do. -Using this case (almost any case) adds weight and makes my hands get tired more easily and sooner then without a case. With all that said. At the end of the day...The case does what it’s designed to do. It’s not a big deal to remove it to get access to removing the joys and docking to TV. So its a 5/5 stars for this item.
