I bought this case (in black) to just have some mild protection for the screen, and it fit perfectly. The magnetic sides help keep the open flap in place and it does sleep/wake the tablet. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because when the flap is open and just wrapped behind the tablet, it is not completely flat. It would be perfect it it would magnetically lock behind as well. First off, I just rec'd it tonight and "just" put my Fire 7 Tablet in it. I wanted something to protect and cover it for when it's put in a drawer or packed. I have no real need for it to function as a stand. Fits perfectly. No issue with accessing buttons on top and the speaker & rear camera are free and clear. Item arrived on time and fits my 7th gen Fire 7 perfect. Seems well made and has a strong magnetic closure. Another magnet puts the Fire to sleep when the cover is closed. All in all this seems like a great deal for the price and I would recommend it for anyone with a 7th gen (2017) Fire 7 inch.

Got this cover specifically because it helps prop my tablet up so I can watch my shows. It also does a pretty decent job protecting my tablet. No complaints, very happy with product. I ordered one & received two - packages we're stuck together.

This is a decent case for my Fire tablet. For the price, it's made well, and it should protect my tablet from minor drops. I got my tablet for $35 with the special offers enabled, so I didn't want to spend more than $10 for a case to protect it. For the size of the tablet, I don't miss having a handle on the back of the case. If the case added more weight, I'd want a handle, but this case is light. ... show more

It fits and at this point brand new. It is not made of as heavy construction I bought for my Firetablet 8 . I they were out of stock for fire tablet 7 so I bought this one that was a comparable price. Will update review after using it a while.******** update** So far works well though not constructed as of substantial material as the previous one I bought from another company. It is light and my wife seems to think it's ok. I carry mine to work and this one stays as home. Bought 2 of these and for some reason, our Fires will NOT hold a charge with these cases. Very disappointing to find the battery drained every single time we pick up a Fire. Also one of the Fires has a mark (like an electronic ghost mark) mark) on the screen where the fold is on the case. Very disappointing to have this permanent blemish on a brand new Fire. Unfortunately, we've missed the return window on these, so they'll go into the garbage. On a good note, they do fit well. ... show more

Perefect case and does exactly what I need it to do. However, I took off two stars because the case is slightly too large—but only a bit. Also the close/open on/off feature does not work with my case. I do indeed have Kindle Fire 7 so I did t buy the wrong case or anything.
