After shopping around and waiting for this saw to become available, I got an email from Home Depot letting me know that it was in stock with free shipping. I checked Amazon and saw that it was available with them also and that shipping was free. I went with Amazon because it let me select a delivery date with a 3 hour window for delivery. This was VERY important because I'd need to be home to accept delivery and can’t sit around all waiting for it to arrive. For an additional $20, Amazon also offered a "room of choice" delivery option. This proved to be perfect and WELL WORTH the money. As for the saw...this was replacing a 25 year old Craftsman Contractor saw that served me well but had issues. I was hoping this would be a big improvement and so far, it is. I unboxed everything and checked to make sure all the parts were there. I had to assemble the legs and attach the wings and then set up the fence. This all went pretty smooth. You can see the quality control with cast top, fence and motor assembly. When I checked the blade alignment, I saw that it was off a bit. I used my A-Line It dial indicator and easily made the adjustment. Then I checked the fence for square and easily adjusted that. Both the alignment to the blade and that the sides were parallel to blade. The fence is made of steel and looks like my old Biesmeyer fence. Most saws in this price range have light duty aluminum fences. Lastly, I had to apply the measuring tape on the fence base and calibrate that. Once that was done, I wiped it all down and hooked up the dust collection and got ready for the first cut. The motor is smooth and quiet, much more so than my old craftsman. It was very solid with no noticeable vibration. I normally use a ridge carbide blade but left the stock Jet blade in there for the test cuts. Impressive. I believe this saw will suit my needs and last me a very long time. The only negative I see are the stamped steel wings. The older ones had "Jet" embossed in them and they were a heavier gauge metal. The new ones are much thinner and lighter. While I wouldn't say they were flimsy, they are much lighter than my old craftsman wings. Other than that, I have no complaints yet. I did not get all the parts so I can't make this work. It weighs 200+ lbs and it's fully assembled, (except for the missing parts) so It's not like I can just return it.
