  • No problems here. Makes woodworking fun.
Style: Dust Collector
Not sure what happened on the negative reviews. It is a shame that this fine tool is getting docked by some unexplainable bad luck. I received mine complete and perfect...drop shipped freight from WMH. The larger of two boxes had some damage on the outside but the item was safe inside. It is packaged incredibly well (the packaging was obviously engineered). Been using it since January 2017 and it works like its supposed to, and infinitely better than my old single-stage 2 hp with canister filter. I wish it had a sub-micron filter but it is what it is, and what I paid for. Maybe Jet can come up with a HEPA upgrade someday. Although, the unit seems to have good fine dust separation, very small particles still (wood flour) make it to filter bag...as with all cyclones. On the plus side the unit is surprisingly quite and portable. ... show more

  • Great choice for a modest shop.
Style: Dust Collector
Compared to my old dust collector that was not a cyclone and 2 horse power this has been a dramatic move up in suction and so far, it appears that it is maintaining the suction far better than the old unit with the large pleated filter. Noise isn’t too bad, remote is weak, takes a few tries sometimes to hit the right spot and turn the unit off. Nice size unit, looks good if that matters and the canister on the optional wheels is a great help in emptying the unit. Not sure about the bag in the drum, sometimes it sounds like it is being sucked in to the unit. I’m pleased so far and the vacuum can support two gates being open at the same time. ... show more

  • Poor instructions but product does as one expect from online videos
Style: Dust Collector
Given the cost of the unit very unimpressed with assembly instructions. Wasn't hard to figure out but there are no pictures to follow let allone rather brief instruction steps like assembly X, no description of what bolts, or orientation of the parts. Jet needs to hire a technical writer that has actual seen the machine apparently. ... show more

Style: Dust Collector
I do not post reviews on products unless they impress me. I have to say that i went from a Harbor Freight 2hp dust collector to this. On my Old Collector I added a Winn filter and also devised a flapper system to knock off the dust from inside the filter. I could sand with a drum sander (jet 16-32 drum sander) for about 1.5 hours then have to remove the dust from the filter because there was no suction anymore. The jet JCDC-3 Dust collector has twice the suction with twice the distance from the collector. I have a 4" pipe that runs a total of 18' from the collector to the sander, wye off to 3 other stations for another 15' of pipe. I can have all the stations gates open and still have enough suction for the sander. With doing all of this sanding, i would say that at least 95% of all the dust is trapped in the drum. The filter has a bag and after dumping the drum( full of mostly sanding dust) has about 4 to 6 cups worth of dust in it. The only issue that i can come up with is the battery compartment for the remote allows the batteries to move around some and could not make good contact to power the remote. This has only happened once to me. the remote has good range and does work through a 8" wall. If you are tired of dust collector problems then this is worth the money. This collector is not cheep. My collector runs about 5 hours a day. The noise level is not bad. ... show more

  • Missing parts and bad customer service
Style: Dust Collector
Can’t tell if this machine works well. It was delivered through Amazon missing the second box. I didn’t know it was missing parts until I had worked a bit into the assembly process. Jet customer service is really bad-they are very rude and sound like they don’t like their jobs. They deferred me back to Amazon and the shipping company, but weren’t able to tell me what ships in the second box of this large shipment. I’m currently dealing with the shipping company, but have a feeling I am going to be sol. It really stinks having this $2000 dust collector sitting in my workshop collecting dust. ... show more

  • Happy Customer
Style: Dust Collector
Very happy with the performance. I can run multiple machines at once with no problems with the suction. It easily keeps up with a 15 inch planer from 30 feet away. I had concerns with the other reviews but my unit was in great shape when it arrived. No problems with missing parts, bad finish or loose remote battery's. I have been using it a couple of months now. ... show more

  • Installation instructions terrible
Style: Dust Collector
I have been a full-time handyman for over 20 years and am very mechanically inclined. I haven't fired this thing up yet, but I agree with Tom California that the instructions are miserable and you should be prepared to make a lot of mistakes in assembly and have to take parts off and put them back on. It is shameful that JET wouldn't bother to draft assembly instructions for its customers to help them benefit from the products they purchase. ... show more

Style: Dust Collector
Like many of you this purchase represents an upgrade from a smaller unit that you have outgrown. To date I await my electrician to give me 240v power to fire this puppy up. My unit arrived with hardware missing, a bent frame coupling between the main power unit and the cyclone connection to the collection barrel, and totally worthless hose clamps. I wonder why Jet would build a beautiful functional unit and then cheap it with vital components. I am hoping all ends well, but at this time it is a big ? ... show more
