Runs true and speed change is easy. I use it to trim rifle cases. The trimmer I wanted is 600.00 bucks. You can buy the trimmer head for 100 and the drill press for 700 and you have a press for every thing else. Don,t buy the vise grip type clamp because there is no holes in the table to secure it. I ordered this from Amazon and it arrived with no problems. The packaging was strapped to a pallet which was actually a nice touch in terms of being able to move it around. For a reasonably heavy item, the drill came unscathed and in perfect condition which doesn't always happen. Setup took less than an hour. I'm a tall person and getting the head onto the stand was not overly difficult for me (with a helper). However, I do recommend that two people be available to put the head on. The head is heavy and clumsy and assembly solo could be frustrating. Out of the box, the drill was set to the lowest drill speed which was great for me given that most of what I needed it for right away was metal work. I've drilled 5/8th inch holes through 3/8th inch plate (staging from a small drill size up to the 5/8 size) without a speck of problem (going easy with cutting oil). Adjusting the drill for lifting or dropping the table is very easy. I haven't changed the drill speed yet but looking at it, I'm quite sure it's relatively straight forward (standard two belt setup). Overall, I'm very happy with this tool as I have drilled quite a variety of metal components with it and it hasn't given me any concerns or worries. ... show more

I purchased this drill press after some extensive market research of drill presses below $1,000. This is by far the best product in this price range. The stand is solid and the press has performed flawlessly in my machine shop. The item arrived well packed and damage free. Highly recommended.

Although I have only used this press 8-10 times, it is very well built. Assembly was easy. The only complaint is it does not have a laser guide. Drill press arrived on time and in perfect condition it's a great addition to my machine shop for motorcycle repair and customizing. It was easy to set up and it runs great. I would recommend it to anybody that would need a metal working drill press.

I received the item 4 days earlier than scheduled but the electric motor was frozen. I tried turning the pulley with both hands and it barley budged. This item is made in China and is junk!
