This doll is adorable, but it is very tiny! We ended up returning it for a 15" doll for a 2-year-old. We did stick with the same company, however, because these dolls are very detailed and pretty. They're all good choices--just be sure you think carefully about the size. Also, be aware that these dolls have vinyl bodies rather than cloth, so they aren't squishy-huggable. Just received this doll from Amazon tonight. Am leaving it in its pkg. for my grandson to open on Thanksgiving, but it is exactly as pictured and described by manufacturer - adorable, sweet-faced and very small, 9.5 in. Regarding the 1 star reviews based on size, unless all THREE elements of the product descriptions changed dramatically between the time you bought it and I bought it (Nov.14, 2017), you have little reading comprehension and therefore have no business writing reviews for any product. Currently, the size of the doll is stated in 3 different areas: the title of the product "Mini La Newborn Boutique - Realistic 9.5" Anatomically Correct Real Boy Baby Doll dressed in BLUE – All Vinyl Open Mouth Designed by Berenguer – Made in Spain". Further down the page, in the product and manufacturer's description, it states, "The doll is 9.5” long and weighs less than 1lb". Below that, in the product info section that gives shipping weight, etc, the first line again gives product dimensions "9.5 x 3 x 9.5 inches". What more can the manufacturer and Amazon do to provide you the buying facts you need to make a decision? Oh wait, there is another section further below titled "Customer questions & answers". I bought two of these dolls because there are three diffrent expressions and I thought I would have a better chance of getting a good expression. I was going to give one to my granddaughter for x-mas however, the doll is tiny. I know it clearly states that the dolls are 9 1/2 inches but I should have spent the money and gotten the larger size. Size wise it is going to be hard to find clothes to fit and making my own clothes might turn out to be very frustrating. The first thing I did too when I got the dolls was to check and see if they were really girls and they really are but in the process of taking the clothes off the doll, the hat fell off and the doll had a huge dent in it head from being wired too tightly to the display cube in the box. I guess it had been pressed into that cube for so long that it put a dent in the head. So I opened up the other box and that doll had a dent in its head too though it wasn't quite as pronounced as the first doll. Its been several days since I took them out of the box and now the heads seem to have gone back to their normal condition. I don't know if anyone has had this same problem but I sure didn't want to send them back so I was glad the heads filled back out. That is the only reason for giving them 4 stars instead of 5. I purchased this for my daughter after bringing our newborn son home. I also purchased 2 other baby dolls for her. This doll is small as is stated in the product description. My daughter was 1 1/2 when I bought it and this was a good size for her at that age. If she was older I would have purchased a larger sized doll. The face and body is very realistic and appears to be made of a more ridgid vinyl. I believe it is due to the more ridgid material that this doll is not played with more compared to the other dolls I purchased for my daughter. She plays with her other dolls I bought on amazon way more than this one. The other dolls I purchased are: JC Toys La Baby - Colors May Vary (Blue, Pink, Purple)JC Toys La Baby- Hispanic (Colors May Vary) Both of these have the realistic faces/hands but a soft body so they are not anatomiclly correct, or anything for that matter. I also purchased a childsized ergo carrier so when I am carrying around my newborn, our daughter carrys around her baby too. Ergo Baby Doll Carrier - Galaxy Grey Overall if having the "parts" correct is the most important for you, and your child is smaller, then this would be a great doll. If you are looking more for a doll your child will play with perhaps more so, but not really looking for the anatomy to be correct, then look at the other ones I listed above.
