Had this xtreme 2 for over 2+ years now .. and still no sign of age, problems, or decline of health, still super long battery life per charge, waterproof AND dust proof. Taken this speaker up a mountain with atv’s many many times and no dust, mud, or water damage. Taken many hard hits right on rocks and concrete. Worth every penny, great looking speaker for the value, incredible JBL sound quality big speaker and the shoulder straps practically make it so it’s not even there. The connect + feature is outstanding and awesome to party with friends with other (older models). However one flaw is the connect+ system won’t pair with the party boost with the new jbl’s, tested it with my buddy’s xtreme 3 and it didn’t pair, which isn’t a huge issue, just buy the older models if you want multiple devices playing at once. Overall incredible speaker for the price, great performance.. great sound quality. Definitely worth buying the xtreme 2. (I highly recommend buy it brand new for best quality, performance, and durability) ... show more

I had been using an old Dewalt worksite speaker for a number of things for years. It served it's purpose but was rather cumbersome for the nature of what I used it for so I was in the market for a nice rechargeable bluetooth speaker. Well my son has a smaller JBL bluetooth speaker that he has been very happy with bit I needed a louder one for my purposes. One of which is for a planning committee for a retreat where we use a lot of music that has to be listened to and voted in. It was kind of a hassle to lug the Dewalt along with the tote and other stuff I had to take then find a spot to plug the Dewalt in. This Speaker has made that process so much easier. I use the strap and carry I like a purse, freeing my hands up to carry the other stuff, saving me a trip from my car to our meeting spot! Also, I no longer have to use the cord from my phone for the sound! Also, we watch a lot of movies in the yard on a projector that had the 3mm jack and Bluetooth. Now I just use the bluetooth with this handy speaker. I was also able to take this speaker out on a pontoon where we all like to jump off into the river and swim. This thing had zero issue with water occasionally dripping off of us and it took up little space on the pontoon and made our trip so much more fun with music! It holds a charge for a long time, even turned all the way up! I have not used it in durations as to completely sap the battery but I can say that one weekend, I used it for 2 hours turned all the way up at a music meeting, then the next evening for 3 hours turned all the way up watching a movie outside and when I went to charge it back up, the battery was only down 2 dots out of 5. The folks on our retreat are so happy with what they have seen so far from the functionality and sound of this speaker that we have been having fundraisers to save up for the party box and microphones to have for our actual retreat to replace our old, very cumbersome sound system. I love the quality of JBL speakers that I have experienced so far. In the short time I have had this, I am absolutely thrilled with it. The difference between lugging that old worksite speaker and this little, potent thing is like night and day. Also, some of our work vehicles no longer have working radios and I even take it to work sometimes when in those vehicles and have music to make the work day less dreadful. I really hope there is a good sale on the party boxes so we can get one for our retreat in the spring. We are saving up! ... show more

Id like to provide helpful answers to the most common performance questions based on my real experience using this product. Battery life-Ive run mine for 8 hours at 100% volume, with my phone plugged in and charging for 3 of those hours, before finally exhausting the battery. Sound quality-I feel the sound quality is exceptional when considering the size and price point. The bass is very strong and clear. Where the bass is lacking is in the deeper frequencies. The frequencies you hear in really deep booms in hip-hop/rap type music. (Apple Bottom jeans would be an example to try out). These are virtually impossible to create with this small of a driver. This bass sounds really great on rock, jazz, blues, country, etc. My personal opinion is if you want a device that will reproduce these frequencies, your going to pay a lot more and carry a much larger box around. I purchased this specific box because, while wanting the biggest, best sound I could get, I did still have interest in portability. Mids and highs are well separated and very clear, sounds great. I have heard speakers that sound better....but not at this price or size. How loud does it get?-Pretty loud. Inside a single room of your house, it gets downright loud. While outside working, I placed mine on a workbench inside my garage. I was 20 ft away, standing outside of the garage running a belt sander, and while I, of course, cant hear the music clearly over a belt sander, I could still hear enough of the song to keep up with it. Ive heard complaints about reduced max performance when running on battery only. I believe this is true, and I also believe that this limitation was removed when I performed my firmware update on 5-4-20. I would strongly recommend this box based on a few things. 1-If youre like me and you want the biggest, best sound possible, while still being realistic about portability. 2-I would say it is priced correctly, I believe you are getting what you pay for, without breaking the bank. 3-Features-great battery life, size is big but not oversized. The media could not be loaded. This is a great speaker, I have used it every day since purchasing! The sound quality is pretty crisp with good bass. It can get really loud without diminishing the quality of what you are listening to. The battery life is great it will last you around 12 hours. The attachable strap is very helpful if you are bringing the speaker out and about with you. If you are looking for a daily portable speaker that can move around with you and has good sound and battery life this is the speaker for you! ... show more
