    • JBL Xtreme 2: THIS THING IS A BASS-BLASTING BEAST FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION!!! 🌋🔊💥🤯
Color: Camo
Review Image by Philip
HOLY BASS DROPS, BATMAN! I bought this JBL Xtreme 2 thinking it’d be a “nice portable speaker” for picnics. WRONG. This monstrous cylinder of pure audio chaos turned my life into an endless EDM festival!!! It’s like JBL crammed a nightclub subwoofer, a rock concert amp, and a thunderstorm into a waterproof tube you can sling over your shoulder. The bass? INSANE. It hits so hard my windows rattle, my coffee vibrates off the table, and the neighbors called the cops thinking there was an earthquake. Battery lasts 15 hours of non-stop mayhem – we took it to the beach, cranked it to max, and it turned a chill hangout into a full-blown RAVE. People were dancing in the sand, strangers joined in, someone started a conga line! Waterproof? HA! We straight-up THREW it in the pool to test – it floated like a boss, kept blasting underwater beats, and emerged victorious like an aquatic warlord. Dunked it, splashed it, even used it as a flotation device during a chicken fight. Zero issues. IPX7 rating? More like INDESTRUCTIBLE!!! Connect two for stereo? We linked THREE with friends and created a wall of sound that probably woke bears in hibernation. Portable? Yeah, with the strap it’s like carrying a bazooka of joy. Downsides? My ears ring for days, I can’t hear my alarm anymore, and parties never end because no one wants to turn it off. If you want a “normal” speaker, buy something else. If you want to summon the god of thunder and become the undisputed PARTY OVERLORD – GET THIS NOW. My life has more bass than a dubstep whale concert. 100000/10 – BEST. PURCHASE. OF. MY. EXISTENCE!!! 🔥🎉🦖🚀 ... show more

    • Premium sound, wi where I go!
Color: Red
Review Image by Jenn B
Easy to connect, premium sound and had durable strap which makes it super easy to carry anywhere you want to go. I got the red one and it do not disappoint. The bass is booming! Even better then the one made after this one. Get extreme 2 much better then extreme 3 and for less money. If you like premium sound and nice bass in your music then this JBL is for you. It's got a big sound but with a reasonable size speaker that can easily go anywhere i go with the nice thick strap it comes with, it's no bother to bring it with you to beach or wherever you go. Even if it's in the shower. I take mine with me every day! JBL has yet to disappoint me! Love my JBL extreme 2 . ... show more

    • Nice speaker for the price
Color: Black
I have been keeping my eye out for a good water proof speaker. I found this one. Let me start by saying that I own a pair of Klipsch KG4's and a Harmon Kardon Onyx studio 3 and a Sonos and Bose speakers. So I have heard a lot of sound come out of fairly decent quality speakers. But none of them are water proof. This JBL has about the same volume range as the Onyx 3 which is more than enough. The bass is okay, if you set the speaker in a corner of the room the bass will be more pronounced but overall its decent for the size. The main reason I bought the speaker was to take out on the pontoon boat, It was perfect. As soon as we parked at the beach I threw it off the side of the boat, It floats. I ran about 3/4 volume unplugged for about 4 hours and the battery indicator lights still showed full charge, impressive. At the 3/4 volume the speakers could easily be herd 40 feet away. If you want it louder then you will have to plug it in to get the max wattage. I even used the USB on the speaker to charge my phone. Overall a great experience. I would say the speaker is worth around the $200 range, its not a $300 speaker. So buying it refurbished is great! Still comes with enough of a warranty to check that all the buttons work and the battery holds a good charge. If not send it back and try again! That is my review. -Tom ... show more

    • Good sound, excellent battery life, nice features.
Color: Ocean Blue
I purchased this as a "renewed" item, for the price break. Previously, I've owned some smaller, less expensive Bluetooth speakers, but have found them to be generally 'tinny' and lacking in bass. Some have had difficulty maintaining a connection via Bluetooth as well. The JBL Extreme 2 has none of those faults. I took it camping with friends the first weekend after receiving it. Playing music at half to 3/4 volume, we used it for about 8-9 hours in total, and it was down from 5 battery indicator lights to 4. . . .much better than I expected. I work in a manufacturing environment, and the speaker is powerful enough to be heard over a nearby sanding booth, air-powered drills, and so forth in the vicinity. In fact, a few of my co-workers are openly jealous of the thing. The sound quality is excellent as well, as long as you're not expecting the sort of bass you'd get from a 10" bass driver. It's rich, and full. The carry strap is a nice touch, although I find myself toting it around protectively in the crook of my arm for the most part. As a result, my wife calls it the "sound baby". I have not had the opportunity (if that's the right word) to test the claimed water resistance, but based on the other reviews here, I have little reason to doubt the claim. The ability to use it to charge other devices (phones etc.) is extremely handy, especially on camping trips and the like. Update 1/8/25 - Here we are 4 1/2 years later, and this speaker still accompanies me daily to provide music while I work. It continues to function perfectly. Great job on this product, JBL. ... show more

    • Rich robust sound, gets fairly loud but gets lost when outdoors in open area.
Color: Black
I just purchased this "renewed" unit to compliment another Extreme 2 I bought about 7 months ago. Main reason was to expand the sound field indoors and out to get a more filling live sound in STEREO by using the connect feature and blue tooth mode. I was very disappointed to learn there are flaws here. First is I cannot get the two speakers to work in real STEREO mode, only PARTY mode! Same exact audio from both units! Next is latency. There is about a 300ms delay between the source audio and what comes out of speakers! When using just one, there is little delay. Note that this occurs even if using a wired input from a laptop's headphone out jack! Little to no mention anywhere describing the use of a hard wired input or delay issues. Speaker's audio wants to mute ASAP, so, if there is no sound for more than just a few seconds, they go to sleep! When audio shows up, there is like a 5 seconds delay before they play, loosing the first few notes of a song! Like other people have complained about, you must have a strong loud signal from the sound source, or the speakers will try to sleep! So using some kind of audio level control BEFORE the speakers will cause issues! Bummer. I am thinking of sending back the unit I just purchased due to these flaws and NO help on the net to resolve them! Beware! ... show more

    • Wireless Outdoor Speaker System Alternative
Color: Red
I have 4 of these and I use them for our outdoor pool area. They sync well together and provide nice sound. It is not nor will it ever be better than a wired system for loudness. However, guests tell us they like the fact they can have conversations with music running in the background and no being overbearing. You may sync one of these to a roll and link the others via the connect/sync button on the top of the other unit. A low cost way to have high end functionality in an outdoor space wirelessly. ... show more
