The speaker itself is rated as good; the mount will fail because it's all plastic & sun exposure degrades all plastics. And they do not make a mount replacement. In the photo I show how one can use large hose clamps (sold at Am) to mount it in a more secure and permanent fashion (much harder to steal like this too ;-). A big clamp around the body and a small clamp to hold the big clamp to the frame. Use only metal hose clamps for all attachments where applicable. ... show more

    • Disappointing sound and features.
Sound is very distorted. You can buy a speaker for under 10 bucks that sound better. Fm radio doesn’t really pick up radio stations. Normal stations that are easy to pick up on other devices won’t tune in. Disappointing for a jbl product.

I've been riding with this for a few weeks now and my biggest complaint is that button presses have a one or two second lag that can make it difficult to use. I'm not sure if it's a speaker problem, iPhone problem, or bluetooth problem, but it's obnoxious. The sound quality is great for such a small speaker on a bike, with road noise and wind. The battery life seems very good. I've gone for a few rides over 5 hours, listening maybe half of the time, and I haven't been below 2 bars on the battery meter. We'll see how it does in the winter, but so far I've been impressed. It would be nice if there were mounts for sale to more easily use it on my other bikes, but the included mount really isn't that great, so I may try 3D printing my own. The included mount has a tendency to rotate, and has to be really clamped down or it will bounce off - I've had it fly off a few times. Overall not bad, but has room for improvement. ... show more
