I had to write this review after losing my old iOS Pro Buds and needing a new pair. These JBL Vibe Buds were on sale for $30, and I expected just okay for the price. But they’re amazing value. JBL has built solid products for years, and these are no exception. For $30, the sound is fantastic, and they stay in my ears without any issue—the default fit out of the box was perfect, and they arrived fully charged. The QR code for the JBL app is a nice touch, offering easy access to different sound settings. I’m an AI music creator, and these buds deliver some of the best sound I’ve heard, even compared to more expensive options. If I ever lose them again, I’ll definitely be buying another pair. For the price, these are great. I like to keep a pair of headphones by my bed to listen to audiobooks or music in bed. I had to replace an old pair of airpods because they wouldn’t hold a charge longer than 30 minutes. My primary focus was battery life. I fall asleep with these JBLs in and in the morning they still have at least half battery after sitting out of the case all night long. Second want for ear buds was something better at noise canceling than airpods (husband snores). These are exceptional at noise cancelling and you don’t have to turn the volume up super loud to achieve it. Only complaint, and this is totally my fault, is that the rubber tips are slightly too large for my ears and they fall out a lot or make my ears sore. But they came with either replacement rubber tips or different sizes in the box when i got them and i threw them away. Since then ive been having a hard time finding generic replacement tips that don’t disrupt the charging on these. But like i said that’s on me. These work great, sound good, link up to Bluetooth easily. But if you have them in your pocket or backpack and they separate from the charger, they can run out of battery, get lost or dirty. I would highly recommend these for casual use.

I bought these as a cheap secondary set of buds to wear while going to sleep, listening to podcasts (because my puppies like eating them if they fall out during the night). I'm so impressed with the quality of these, I'm using them as my primary, over the $100+ Pixel buds I use as my traditional main buds. The battery life is insane for the price (8-9hrs of constant podcast use, compared to the 4-5hrs with the A-series Pixel buds, which are more than twice as expensive), the sound quality is awesome, and the call quality seems to be great (usually get complaints of "Sorry, you broke up" with the Pixel buds, but have yet to get that complaint with these.). Also, I dropped one of the buds in the toilet the first day I got them (don't ask), and there seems to be zero repercussions from this mistake. It works perfectly fine. First, I purchased these for listening to podcasts and audio books. I have not listened to music with these or utilized them for phone call use nor will I in either case. I do not use these with a smart phone nor with any "app". The good: 1) These in-the-ear headphones have actually been tested to the RF exposure limits as required for RF exposure safety as required by the US FCC and Canada ISED. Remember, BT transmits at the same frequency as your microwave oven so output power and power density matter. (Please look for SAR values for head and body worn intentional transmitters prior to purchasing any product) 2) These devices have actually been tested and certified to the intentional transmitter requirements of the US FCC and Canada ISED. As noted above, BT transmits at the same frequency as your microwave oven. Don't you want these to only put out the legal amount of RF power? Don't you want to make sure they do not interfere with other products in your local environment? (Please look for FCC ID and ISED IC numbers for intentional transmitters prior to purchasing any product) 3) They pair readily and work well for passing audio. 4) As always, JBL products are packaged as if they are either a work of art or are a piece of precision scientific equipment. The bad: 1) For dinosaurs like me who have been using technology since those heady days in the 1970's and 1980's when companies actually employed professional technical writers to create user manuals, the need to decipher the hieroglyphics in able to operate something is always a time consuming, confusing, and difficult process. Wouldn't it be cool if someone developed a written language which actually used words arranged in sentences to convey information? 2) There is a kind of need for magical wishing or surgical precision to utilize the touch functions on the head phone for control of the device and its interface to the paired audio server. Don't even dream of attempting this with gloves on. 3) Where is the lid or cover for the charging cradle? The lack of said is actually very disappointing. I guess when you actually go through the very expensive regulatory testing and certification process you have to save money somewhere to compete with the plethora of untested products being dumped on the US market. The bad items I just listed make me want to give the device two stars because they are so annoying and very avoidable if the manufacturer has any will. However, the first two items about regulatory testing and certifications are such a significant positive that overrides the negatives I will give the product five stars. Note that your long term health is more important than saving $20 or $40 on a piece of electronics and it seems that if a company is not based in the US, Canada, or EU, not many devices available online have actually been tested and certified at an accredited lab and meet RF exposure safety requirements. ... show more

    • Sound drops for 3 seconds intermittently.

JBL is a brand that I've used for years because of the superb quality of their devices. These earbuds fit snug in my ear and the sound quality is great for the price. However... straight out of the box, the earbuds sound will randomly cut out for 3 seconds. I'm not the first one to post about this defect either. After using these everyday for a whole year here is my report. Battery life: + (still lasts as long like new ones) Durability: + ( dropped in water and on ground, still works) So, if you don't mind the sound cutting out randomly for 3 seconds( sometimes 5x an hour) I'd say these earbuds are worth it if they are on sale. ... show more
