First off this is the first time I purchased over the ear headphones. I've always used earbuds or ear pods but always had a problem with not getting solid unobstructed sound. I could always hear sounds from the gym and people... super annoying. With these I can lockout all outside sounds and really just get into my music and tune everything else out. I can't hear anybody or anything and these JBL's are easy to connect and the battery life is ourstanding and the bass and sound quality is crystal clear. I got these for the noise cancelling and they work great. There’s a race track that sees heavy use this time of year on the weekends, and these earphones block out the loudest of engine noises. Nice playback on my music too.

It cancels out most of the 'outside' noise but not all of it. You can still hear 'outside' noises sometimes but the noises are greatly muted/reduced, which is sufficient for me, especially for the price. If complete noise cancellation is what you need, then I'd recommend looking at other headphones. If you're fine with just reducing a good chunk of the noise, these are great for the price. No issue pairing with my laptop, haven't tried pairing with other devices. ... show more

The JBL headphones have excellent fidelity and noise cancelling capabilities. They are fairly comfortable solo, or when worn with a light-blocking blindfold. The ear cups are not large, which is a bit uncomfortable for me. The tension in the headband is too much and leads to fatigue around the ear and jaw. This is a heavyweight headphone, so the cushion at the top of the headband, where it meets the skull, is inadequate and causes discomfort. This can be corrected by wearing the headphones upside down, with the headband under the jaw. This position eliminates the skull discomfort, but leads to the headband rubbing on clothing and chest, transferring unwanted noise inside the ear cups. This position also changes the quality of the sound, and the heavy weight of the headphones then pulls down on my ears causing discomfort. The increments on the volume adjustment are too large. I love these headphones!! I had AirPods but developed neuropathy after chemo sessions and just could not get them in my ears. So I ditched them. I turn these on and put them on my ears. Simple. The battery lasts forever too. Well worth the money!!

These are astonishingly good headphones. I bought these from Amazon never having heard them. I'm a musician with a pair of JBL monitors that sound great, so I took a chance. The sound separation is excellent, and the fidelity is better than my dear old Sennheiser 280s, which have been a staple of studios throughout the world. I listened to Vaughan Williams 5th symphony with these headphones and nearly started weeping it sounded so good.! Of course, these are active electronics headphones so that is already an advantage. If you are a fan of overproduced pop and hip hop, these may not be for you; get some high end Beats headphones. But if you want to hear music as it was intended from the studio, these are terrific. I've never heard Bose headphones, but I'm willing to bet that they don't sound twice as good as these at twice the price. ... show more

Good sound and noise canceling. JBL is usually a good brand. Price ok but would not pay more. Came partially charged. Paired easily with phone. Ordered one for my spouse. Only 3 colors available so maybe better color options would be only complaint. Ordered hard case as well after arrived.

Got these for my mom to block noise at night.. like my dad snoring. She loves them. The ear cup/ cushion is too small for me and didn’t fully cover my ears. I prefer the Bose or Sony but they fit her smaller ears fine. Good sound and decent noise cancelling. Not as good as the Bose or Sony that at are much more expensive but that is expected.
