  • somewhat disappointing
Used with home theater and spotify music. Higher wattge, not as much bass volume as previous JBL subwoofer SU-160 it replaced. Still trying to adjust AV Receiver to try for more, but so far fairly disappointed.

  • great sub, bad information
Purchase and Delivery: Been watching this sub a while, it went on sale for 229 so I jumped on it. Prime delivery said "two day delivery once shipped" with no estimated delivery date. The second option was guaranteed delivery in a week. I selected the first option thinking it would arrive faster than a week. Nearly two weeks went by and it still said "not yet shipped, no estimated delivery date." It wasnt even being prepared for shipment yet. Long story short I ended up cancelling the order and reordered then selected the second shipping option with the guaranteed delievery date rather than the first option that said "two day delivery once shipped." I eventually got the sub 20 days after I originally ordered. so much for "prime" shipping. Im convinced I never would have received the sub if I didnt cancel and reorder. Subwoofer: Instructions say to put the volume slightly below middle while setting up. But there was no sound nor vibration. So I spent a while troubleshooting until I found out that the sub doesnt actually make any sound or vibration until it's turned up all the way to about 60%, then the output level moves fast. But it didnt say this anywhere in the instructions, so I had wasted a lot of time because of incorrect or incomplete instructions. Once I finally had it working, it's a great sub, quality I expect from JBL. I will continue to purchase from them. Conclusion: Definitely worth 229 once you actually get to use it. make sure to choose a guaranteed delivery date at checkout. ... show more

  • Great Sound - but finish is puckering
The sound is incredible and clean. I like the controls for power, crossover, and volume. But within a few weeks the finishing material on the outside is puckering and looks like blisters. At first it was just a little, and now is happening on a large percentage of the surface. I'm not going to return this because the sound is so good, and where I have placed the unit, it's not visible until you really stare at it (because it's black). This is placed in a living room in a house with central air and heating so the temperature has been around 70 the entire time I have had this unit (just a matter of weeks). It is dry here in the southwest and I don't know if that's the problem. So far this plastic contact paper type of finish is still hanging on. I will report if it starts peeling off. ... show more

  • Very Active Woofer
The JBL Stage 10 replaced an Elac 1010 sub that was making an annoying humming noise and really didn't produce quality bass. The Elac has a wired cord that can't be removed which I find in cheaper subs. The JBL, while a bit more expensive, is far superior in quality. I love watching the woofer move in 'n' out as it brings the thunder. I have the Stage 10 paired w a very compact Fosi amplifier which I've had for six years and is still going strong. The speakers I use are Elac Uni-Fi UB52's which produce an anemic low end. Shameful for a $600 speaker. The Stage 10 solved the bass issue with deep, room-filling bass. Setup is super easy with a single LFE input. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • JBL never disappoints!!!
This sub is awesome!! Nice clean, deep, smooth sounding bass with no rattling or distortion! Had to replace the sub that came with a used JBL 5.1 home theater system I got for a gift along with an Onyko TX SR313 receiver, currently hooked up to a projector I also got from Amazon. I have the volume at just under 3/4 way and crossover just under half way. You really get the most out of it with the right sound setup through your receiver! I happened to catch Guardians of the Galaxy on playing while testing it out and was blown away!! Did a few song tests.. Fly Away by Lenny Kravitz, Do you by Miguel, Hypnotize by Young Jeezy and Speakerboxxx intro by OutKast. Had my house SHAKING!! 🔊🔊🔊 Love it!!! ... show more

  • A real difference
Added a whole new dimension of sound to my sound system ....after finding the "sweet spot" for music ... can now hear individual instruments that were some-how "missing" before

  • Good compact subwoofer
Originally purchased as a second subwoofer for my basement home theater, but my primary 12” Infinity Sub R12 overwhelmed it in bass depth and sound authority. Moved the JBL Stage A100P to my family room 3.1 system where it sounds good. Has tight bass and clarity, but it lacks the depth of a good 12” sub. It is however more compact and looks better in the family room application. Purchased a JBL Stage A120P 12” subwoofer as my secondary subwoofer for my basement theater and it is a much better match to the Infinity sub and packs noticeably more punch than the 10” JBL version. Overall the JBL Stage A100P is a good sounding and compact 10” subwoofer. ... show more
