Having gone through three pairs of wireless ear buds, I wanted some that did not have a band/wire connecting L to R. I also love JBL products. On my runs, I now listen to audiobooks rather than music. My typical run is 2 to 2.5 hours (five days a week). These ear buds fit securely and comfortably. They come with three sizes of ear pieces and fittings. After a week, I changed of the installed size to the smaller size because I felt a slight pain near the end of a long run if I touched the control buttons. The smaller size fixed this issue. The sound is not JBL music quality though. Considering the battery life is 10 hours and the price is much lower than other name brands, I will sacrifice. Audiobooks play perfectly. Music does not sound as I would hope, but I can tolerate it. I have not yet used these for a phone call. I also tried the ambient mode once. I'll agree with many other reviews that this feature is rather unnecessary. ... show more

    • Great sounding earbuds with a few limitations

I've had these JBL ReflectFlow earbuds for almost two months and after living with them, I definitely recommend them for the quality of sound, the talkthru features, the battery life, and their durability. I am happy with my purchase and see myself using these for a long time. However, there are areas where these earbuds lack that you may want to be aware of when considering buying these. Pros: JBL sound - I'm a sucker for the way JBL sets the levels on its products. Noise cancellation - this works almost too well. When I am at the park walking my dog, I can never hear approaching cyclists behind me, even when they call out. the microphone - phone calls sound rich and crisp through the microphone. It also works well with Zoom meetings. talkthru feature - there are 2 levels of talkthru in addition to the noise-canceling setting and it works really well. I can listen to music/podcasts and hear the ambient noise around me. I now use this setting in the park and it works great. battery life - JBL says that the Reflect Flows have 30 hours of battery life, and while I haven't tested those limits, I will say that I have never lost charge with these earbuds. The charging case holds its charge for days and days. I rarely have to put it on the charger. Durability - These earbuds take a pounding and can really stand up to moisture. I dropped a bud into about 2 feet of water and it stayed for a few minutes while I frantically fished it out and suffered no damage. Cons Physical buttons - I didn't think this would bother me, but it really does. You have to press the buttons fairly hard to pause music or answer calls and it can be pretty uncomfortable. No volume control - This doesn't really bother me as I have my phone or computer within easy reach when using these, but it may be a deal-breaker for you. No equalizer app - I may really love the sound settings that JBL installs, but if you don't, there's no way to adjust the levels. Overall, for me, the pros significantly outweigh the cons but if any of the cons are a deal-breaker for you, you may want to pass these up. ... show more

I used the JBL Reflect Mini (original and 2.0) for several years because they had good sound quality, were not super expensive and most importantly, stayed in my ears while running. Now that they are no longer available I tried the JBL Reflect Flow because the price was right and the ear inserts (the part that looks kind of like half a propeller and sits in the outer part of your ear) looked very similar to those in the Reflect Minis. After more than a month using them I really like them. I have had no problem with battery life, the sound quality is fine for Sirius XM or Spotify while I am running and they stay in my ears very well. I run for about 35 minutes 3 days per week and they seem to last for up to 3 weeks before I have to plug the case in to charge them back up. (I don't let them get super low so they might go longer.) The 3-star rating on the noise cancellation is because in order to get the ear buds deep enough in my ear so that they stay in I am using the smallest ball-like cushion which means some sound can get past them. But that is fine with me because I actually like to be able to hear cars, bikes, people nearby as I'm running. I didn't buy these for noise cancellation. Bottom line for me is that these are a very good value. ... show more
