So I went with a set of these to save money over what I really wanted (a set of Bose F1's), and since on top of DJ'ing, I plan on using these possible for small church events, so nice can mix right on them. However, when using for my main use, DJ'ing with a mixer, where I just have once channel coming into each from the mixer, yeah, that is a lot of wasted features. I just got moved into my new house, and was finally able to test them both at full volume. Not lacking there for my use, can't wait to get to see how well it is outdoors. Up till now, I kept one at the house while working on it and one at apartment till I moved. I wish there was a way to allow you to set one speaker to be used for Bluetooth audio, and then set it so that it only plays left channel, and sends all of the right channel out to the other speaker. I just prefer actually using them in stero. From playing around, it just mixes L/R from bluetooth input, then the output sends that same mixed signal out to the other speaker. The idea of the app was very appealing. Very little features actually worked for me on Android. (ie, can't change main levels nor channel levels, I could get in and change EQ settings on channels). I contacted JBL support and got a fast reply. He said to check the firmware, and I did and found there was updates. I was optimistic. However, even though videos show using an app to tweak channel setting easily instead of using knobs on speaker, I was told the knobs on the speakers are really what should be used for setting everything. So much for putting on a playlist at an event, and then be able to via the app bump a song up or down away from the speakers. So I install the updated firmware... FAIL, after the update, NO feautres (even after uninstalling app and reinstalling, on a Pixel 6) work now. Completely useless. I have yet nearly a month later to hear back from my reply to support about this. Guess it was a canned reply for "default answer". I was able to "rename" the speakers, so I could name them "Left" and "Right", it would be nice if you could get that reflected in the name showing up for BlueTooth connection. Good thing I don't need to app to save a gig's setting for multiple inputs being used for the next time. I am going to try using a friends iPad for it, all the videos that is what people are using. The tech geek in me wishes the display when "idle" would show levels. You know, keep the "main volume" setting across the bottom, but then have 8 level meters to show main out, and 7 channel levels. Granted the lights on the chanels indicate levels, but other than clipping, there is no master level output indicator. I mean you have a full color display... use it :) Great volume, great range. Way over priced on the adapter to use the sticks separate from the base. DO NOT try moving them with the sticks installed. I went to do this and WHAM. hit the ceiling with it as I was moving it. Luckily no damage. Oh yeah, great long power cables on these. And if they loose power while in use, they do revert back to the state they were in when power comes back. It would be nice if they had a pocket in the carrying case for the sticks to hold the power cable as well for when taking somewhere to just use for bluetooth. ... show more

I ordered this “used like new” from Amazon, as I’ve always received returned items and they work great. I enjoy saving the money and giving a product a second chance, so to say. This arrived with a nice quality box and it clearly had been opened, which is perfectly fine. But that’s where it ends. I opened the product up and there was some dust and light debris on it, clearly from sitting in someone’s house for a bit potentially. Still not a big deal really. But then I plugged into my DJ rig on DJ mode, since I purchased this as a cocktail hour speaker for weddings. The bass would not punch at all, and all six of its top tweeters are blown. A terrible crackle and I had to turn the volume way up to really hear anything. Even tried another cable and also with my bass in Cafe mode. Still the same. I’m convinced that this was ordered to provide music at a party too large for its purpose, and someone cranked it way up. Already boxed up and ready to return as damaged. I’m not sure why Amazon didn’t test this given its look and lack of internal packing, but it is what it is I guess. I’m hoping they don’t resell it and someone ends up in my position again. As a working pro musician for many years. It was arduous to decide which one to buy. I had already invested in other speakers and audio equipment. I went with the JBL ION one MK2. I will generally only use the two spacers. The third or middle one appears to lean. I tested the difference in large empty hall and it will do with two columns. Of course the more people you have in front of you the worst the "audio throw is". Your decibels are affected with humanity nearby. Not sure what improvements have been made over the MK1, but this one suffices for my needs. There is lot of discussion on the negative JBL customer service and the poor battery life. I have yet to experience that since I just started using the device. PROS: Good clear sound. Menu display okay. Intuitiveness could use a revamp. More on the initial setup and negatives. The bass quality is great. The treble is passable. Portability is one of the main reasons I purchased. This unit will eliminate about 80% of my chords, including electrical AC plugs and additional Amps. I plug in one mic, one music iPad, and one guitar. The guitar not so good quality. The mic quality is above average. Mic levels are easy to edit, you can add "reverb" to your hearts content. CONS: make sure you turn up the "gain" knob on all of the channels, otherwise you won't get much sound. It is factory default at the lowest gain. Making you think I don't have any sound coming out. Yes JBL does not explain this little detail in the setup. The quick start up guide sucks. It has one page with the barest of all details. The power on button after long pressing it, takes about 15 seconds to start. The power off button after a long press take 5 seconds to turn off the unit. The display is small, and the battery level indicator is a tiny little icon. Come on. Also after charging the bottom light on the bass unit stays on. ?. No unit cover, you have to buy the cover and carrier for $167. If I bought this cover, I will still have to carry my guitar, and mic stand, and assorted smaller wires, and cables into each gig. There could be elevators, stairs, and other obstacles. So don't let this unit fall, it is made of plastic all over. The three tower attachments are flimsy. Be careful when taking them apart. Be sure to tap in place, otherwise you will only get the bass output. I might report back soon after a few gig applications are done. Oh yeah, because of the higher up/array line up of speakers, as a solo artist you can hear yourself better, and there is no need for a separate monitor. Less setup and breakdown time, and more time for mic checks, and getting paid. Have a great show everyone! ... show more
