Speaker gave out in less then 6 months, I’m extremely disappointed and left with a useless cube! JBL is usually my go to when it comes to sounds and experience. But to afraid to give them another chance after this. Wish I could get my money back but I guess I’ll take the loss.

I had to sent my first order back because the speaker (a gift to my child) did not work. Would connect via Bluetooth, show up on the device as the selected source, but then not play at all. Then, it wouldn’t take a charge. Seemed defective, so I returned it. A new one was sent right away. The second one charged well and we were really excited, except it would die within 15 minutes of use. It was intended for the locker room so every night before a game, we could charge it up. Next day, it showed fully charged. We’d take it to the rink and sure enough within 10-15 mins the volume would drop dramatically. Soon after it would totally die. We tried to make it worked and accepted the 15 minute window of power. This lasted for about 3-4 weeks and then we got tired of bringing it. It’s heavy and cumbersome to carry as it is. Not worth lugging around for that short time. Maybe if you were just plugging it in to your home outlet, it would be fine. But this was needed to go battery operated and take to rinks all over the country. Now it’s spent the last 7 months in the box and will probably end up in the land of tech junk. ... show more

A huge disappointment. I bought the version that comes with the mics a year ago. Its wonderful. Battery last 2 to 3 hours longer in the old one than the new one. What the hell? The new one has less lights on it than the old one. Looks like the company got greedy. Had a great product but had to cut corners to make more money rather than continue to sell something that was fine like it was. The one I bought first doubled in price and is hard to find. Should have bought 2 from the start. My mistake. Had a sony I used everyday for 8 years straight. Best purchase I ever made. Looks like im selling this crap and getting sony speakers again. Shame on you jbl. I am so disappointed in my purchase ... show more

    • One Year, Poorly Replaced Twice

This item had battery issues within the first three months of use, being used maybe three evenings per week at less than 50% volume with lights turned off. I returned the speaker, under warranty, and received a replacement in about two weeks. The replacement was unused for a few months, and within a similar timeframe and similar usage, the battery was rapidly depleting again. I initiated another warranty claim, sending the unit back with its original power cord and in its original retail packaging. I like to keep all of my electronic items packaging and documentation in a meticulous fashion. I have now received another replacement, this time in a generic box, with photocopied documentation and a generic power cord. Worse, the new speaker showed a 45% charge upon initial power up, and depleted to 14% in about 15 minutes. When I plugged it in to charge, the battery immediately showed a 44% charge and shot up to 50% in about two minutes. I let it charge another few minutes up to 60% and then decided to unplug it and play some music, again at less than 50% volume. The speaker lost 12% of the battery charge 2:15 into a 4:30 song. I guess I now have a (mostly) corded speaker that has a battery which could potentially become unsafe? ... show more

This does not have the great jbl sound, even my clip 5 sounds way better. Also it can only pair with other jbl party speakers. Battery life generally much less than stated. The only upside of this speaker is the bass but it’s truly excessive even without the boost when in quiet environments. Almost any other jbl line speakers sound better, it’s surprising how low the sound quality is on this in comparison. Also no option to do usb charging, so if you don’t take the ac cord you’re out of luck. ... show more

Now i am in egypt and the speakers have an issue . I tried to reach the costumer service by mail , they asked me to back to you to repair or exchange the item . Can't speak to the quality of the speaker, but I can report that my brand new Partybox was completely defective out of the box and had to be returned after an hour of troubleshooting attempts. Would not charge or turn on, just a big black box of silence.
