OMG! Exceeds expectations! I’m truly what you would call a JBL Fanboy so this review could be considered biased, however I’ve only purchased the smaller speakers in the past. I have clips, flips, charges, xtremes, and boomboxes. I never really investigated the party boxes. Had my eye on getting a stage 320 for a good while, but the 240 watts didn’t really grab me as a “gotta have it speaker” the 520 recently came out and after extensive review watching, I felt it was definitely a “gotta have” and no doubt as soon as I started using it, it blew me away. They finally got a speaker that rolls well. Sound quality is great I use it over my I’ll 1000 because it’s more convenient being battery and sounds great. I also have the 310 battery and in comparison I like the 520 better than my 1000 and 310 because it rolls better easier controls and sounds good. Bit if your looking for a smaller more convenient to through around the 310 is better but with way less sound. ... show more

Own a 310 Partybox and now the new 520 it is a great speaker good bass and sound. It is a bit louder then the 310 however it does need to be up in the higher volume levels to get the good sound. At lower volume the bass is a little flat sounding even on the high setting. I would say at 50% volume the sound is very good and again at 75% volume. ... show more

So far this is the best JBL speaker yet. Beats the other jbl portable speakers by 20 times. Better sound, better quality, louder, more efficient better battery situation, Great strong wheels, the whole thing is a win-win-win. I'll let you know after my first live performance how amazing it went!
