I recently purchased the JBL Flip 5 Waterproof Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker and it has completely revolutionized my life. I never would have thought that a speaker could have such a profound impact, but this one has done just that. It all started on a hot summer day when I decided to take a dip in the pool to cool off. I grabbed my phone to play some tunes while I lounged in the water, but as soon as I got in, my phone took a dive to the bottom of the pool. I frantically searched for it, but it was nowhere to be found. That's when I remembered I had just purchased the JBL Flip 5 speaker. I rushed inside, grabbed the speaker, and brought it back to the pool with me. I was skeptical that it would even work after being submerged in water, but to my surprise, it not only worked, it sounded amazing. The waterproof feature was a game changer and saved my phone from a watery grave. But it's not just the waterproof feature that impressed me. The sound quality of the speaker is top-notch and the volume can get really loud, perfect for pool parties or backyard barbecues. The Bluetooth connectivity is seamless and I can control my music from my phone without ever having to leave the pool. I also purchased the divvi! Protective Hardshell Case to keep my speaker safe on the go. The case is sturdy and keeps the speaker protected when I'm out and about. One day, I was driving down the highway when I saw a school bus full of kids stranded on the side of the road. The bus had broken down and the kids were stuck with no way to call for help. That's when I remembered my trusty JBL Flip 5 speaker. I connected it to my phone and used it as a megaphone to call for assistance. The volume was so loud that it could be heard from miles away. Within minutes, a tow truck arrived and the kids were saved. But that's not all. My JBL Flip 5 speaker has also helped me find love. I was at a local music festival when I saw the most beautiful woman I had ever laid eyes on. I was too nervous to approach her, but I remembered my trusty speaker. I cranked up my favorite love songs and serenaded her from afar. It worked like a charm and we've been together ever since. But the most incredible feat my JBL Flip 5 speaker has accomplished is helping me become an astronaut. I always dreamed of traveling to space, but I never thought it was possible. One day, while blasting off into the stratosphere, my spaceship's communication system malfunctioned. I was stuck orbiting the Earth with no way to call for help. That's when I remembered my trusty JBL Flip 5 speaker. I connected it to my spaceship's emergency radio and used it as a megaphone to call for assistance. The volume was so loud that it could be heard from space. Within minutes, a rescue team arrived and brought me back to Earth. I can't thank the JBL Flip 5 speaker enough for all it has done for me. Wow. I've had this for over five years and I gotta say it's incredible. The sound quality is amazing and it's a rugged little beast. The battery life is definitely over 5 hours - I think JBL quotes something like 7 which is probably accurate. When I bought mine, I was able to get a little rubber casing for it that included a heavy duty (non-climbing) caribiner. I don't think that accessory is available any more, which is a crying shame. Anyhow, this little speaker has been in good use for 1-5 hour sessions at least once per week for five years and it's still going strong. If I had to issue a qualm, I'd say that the battery meter isn't all that. When it's charging, it's hard to know how much it has and then when I'm playing it, there doesn't seem to be a way to check the battery. This can result in unexpected shutdown. You can also read this as "the battery lasts so bloody long it's easy to forget to charge it." Anyhow, if you need a portable, awesome-sounding bluetooth speaker, this one will do you right every time. ... show more
