This thing is awesome! I have a small addiction to portable speakers as my two favorite hobbies involve being outdoors and listening to music so when I saw this online for $50 I couldn't resist buying it. I really like the JBL brand, they have good customer service and I personally believe they sound great and are great quality without the crazy price tag. I have two JBL FLIP 3's that I was using for hikes and fishing before I got this but ever since buying this guy I have left them at home for use in the back yard (sorry neighbors). The clip on the top makes it extremely easy to clip onto your bag or your fishing vest and the fact that it is waterproof AND floats is equally amazing. The battery life is pretty impressive for the size of the device and the amount of volume it puts out. I believe I'm getting about 6 hours if its fully charged and I have the thing turned all the way up. Another added benefit of the speaker is that if you have a friend with a 2nd CLIP 2 or you are like myself and have multiples then you can wirelessly sync them together and play the music even louder. If you are always traveling and want something that is portable or you just want quality without breaking the bank then check this guy out. You will not be disappointed! ... show more

I love this JBL Clip 2 speaker. The sound quality is surprisingly good, and the volume is more than I would expect for something this size. It seems to be well made. I link it to my phone and clip it to my pants loop while doing chores around the house, mainly listening to podcasts. It is loud enough to be heard while I am in front of the washing machine while it fills and the drier is going at the same time. I have also placed it on top of the shower door frame while showering and could hear fine. I like that the back is made from a non-skid material that is soft enough that I am not concerned about it scratching something. The volume controls are easily accessed, and it is convenient that the phone button doubles as a play/pause button. I have no issue with the play time. I don't really know how long it would go between charges. I plug it in occasionally, but not every use, and have not had it run out on me yet. Very happy with this one. Update July 2019: For a while, I was having difficulty charging the speaker. Seemed to take some wiggling of the cord in the connection to the speaker. It has become progessively worse, and eventually, I was not able to charge it at all. I opened up the speaker to see what the problem was, and determined that the charging connector on the speaker was not making connection to the cable. the connecter did not look replaceable, as it has some very small solder points to the board. I ended up finding a spot on the board where I could solder to the the + charging connection and to ground and drilled holes to run wires out through the port opening. This has allowed me to charge the speaker again. Other than that, it's still going strong. ... show more

    • Absolutely amazing single speaker!
This thing packs a punch! For a single speaker its has amazing sound, great bass, & awesome portability! Waterproof and pretty rugged. I use this at work mostly and I usually hang it on a faucet that I use often so it definitely gets wet! The battery life is pretty good, I use it for 8hrs a day and charge it every 3rd day. If I use it at higher volume I'll need to charge it every second day. I absolutely love that this speaker has an attached 3.5mm audio cord, this allows me to utilize the 32bit HiFi DAC on my LG V30, huge win! I recommend this for anyone who wants a portable speaker with very decent sound quality and waterproofing with a decently rugged build in a fairly attractive little package. Now all I gotta do is get another one to daisy- chain them together for stereo! Oh man. ... show more

    • UPDATE: it DOES have (some) media control!
UPDATE 2016-09-15: Okay, it wasn't obvious but this portable speaker does have minimal media controls, at least with the few audio apps on my Android phone. You can play/pause a track/podcast by pressing the Phone icon, and you can do a Next Track command by double-clicking the Phone icon. You cannot skip back or scrub in either direction, but this now satisfies my basic needs. Thankfully, PocketCasts (my podcast app of choice) interprets Next Track as a skip-30-seconds command rather than jumping to the next podcast, so that behaves quite well. Original review: 3-stars Pros: Good sound quality, pairs fast, waterproof, very sturdy and robust. Cons: No media controls for play/pause or track forward/back. Of course, the description never said it had media controls but I missed that detail. My main purpose for this is listening in the shower and I replaced a cheap suction-cup shower speaker that sounded painfully bright and tinny with this JBL clip-on speaker. The sound is much better, but now I can't pause or skip to the next track. The main feature of this speaker over other portable Bluetooth speakers is its waterproof nature, but you'll need to use your phone in that wet environment in order to control it. ... show more

    • Decent and easy to use
I wanted a speaker to use around the house so I can listen to podcasts or music while showering or cleaning. My phone's speaker isn't powerful enough on its own. I've bought like 3 different rubbish, no-name Bluetooth speakers in the past, but we use a bigger JBL unit at my work and it's awesome. Sooo, I splurged on this thing for myself and it's...also pretty awesome! It's not as powerful as the tube-shaped ones they make and it won't make any audiophile swoon (bass sounds a little blown out), but it's easy to use and reasonably powerful for the size. The hook is handy for attaching it to furniture or even a belt-loop on your pants. I will lose its connection if you wander too far from the device you're transmitting from like any such speaker, but it reconnects very quickly when you're in range again. I also like that it makes a little noise when its battery is running low. ... show more
