Holy moly!!! I have owned many bluetooth speakers. I mean MANY. I spent about a solid month watching EVERY video review of EVERY bluetooth speaker made to date. (3/2/24) I read every Google review I could possibly find. I had to find the absolute best bluetooth speaker under $600. That was my budget. I own very expensive headphones and listened to so many speakers on video reviews that used binaural microphones. I heard the new Harman kardon Go Play 3, the Bang and olufsen beolit 20, the Harman kardon Aurora 3, that weird swedish box one lol, all of the smart home speakers, the jbl authentics 300, absolutely EVERY boombox from all manufacturers, and I finally came to the conclusion that the one that fit my needs perfectly (sound quality, bass, battery life, build quality and price) was the Jbl boombox 3. I went back and forth about the wifi version and the just bluetooth one and decided that although wifi gives better sound quality, I needed the auxiliary 3.5mm input. That is because I own the firefly ldac bluetooth adapter and my phone does ldac so I would get the best bluetooth quality possible, and I own a decent dongle dac and wanted to be able to connect my phone with an otg cable to dac to 3.5mm cable to the auxiliary input and stream my Qobuz through USB Audio Player Pro. Well let me say, with the ldac adapter, this speaker BLOWS my mind in every way shape and form. And with the dac to aux through Qobuz, HOLY LORD IN THE HEAVENS ABOVE. 24 bit 96khz through this speaker has me never wanting to shut it off. Ever. I leave it plugged in most of the time to get the extra power but full blast is waaayyyy too much for my room. Even though at full volume there is zero distortion and insane sound quality. At normal listening levels it is such a pleasure. Beautiful sub bass, mid bass, mids and highs. So with all that said, please do yourself a favor and buy this speaker if it's in your budget. You will not regret it. I can assure you. Oh and no YouTube video does it any justice. You have to listen in person with Quality music through ldac bluetooth with an adapter, or wired with a dongle dac (Dragonfly cobalt) to the aux in with Qobuz or tidal or Amazon HD. I've had the Boombox 3 for like a year and the speaker setup is pretty good it has a race track subwoofer in the middle flanked by two smaller circular mid-range speakers that handle the meds and dual tweeters stacked on top of the mid-range woofers but don't be alarmed it doesn't sound muffled because the tweeters are stacked on top of the woofers but it has a lot more sub base and it gets a little bit louder than the JBL Boombox2 so overall if you're looking for a large portable Bluetooth speaker for the summer the JBL boombox3 will not let you down 24 hours of battery life depending on what volume level and if you plug it in it gets a little bit louder and pushes out a little bit more Bass overall the Boombox 3 is a great option for the spring and summer time. ... show more

I was skeptical in purchasing this model, I was looking at the extreme 5. But after reading the reviews and wanting something more substantial in sound. I’m glad I made this choice. The sound quality is great and the bass is tight. I only turned up the volume 1/4 of the way and it filled my whole family room with nice lows and highs. Speaker came in very good condition, powerful bass and volume, battery life seems good so far and easy to carry on (especially after I bought straps). The battery level LED indicator is not working so I can only figure out the battery level through app or if too low.

Alright, let me tell ya about my used Boombox 3 – it looked darn near brand new, like it had barely seen any action before landing in my hands. Now, I ain't no expert, but I gotta say, the sound that thing pumps out is downright amazin'. Them highs, they're crystal clear, cuttin' through the air like a hot knife through butter. And them mids, man, they're spot on, makin' the music come alive with every note. But let me get to the real kicker – them low ends. Tight, boomy, and just plain spectacular. I've tried other fancy speakers like the Blast, XG500, and Partybox 100 as I climbed the ladder of audio gear, but let me tell ya, none of 'em came close. This Boombox 3 ain't no joke; it's in a league of its own. Now, here's the cool part. That Party Boost feature is somethin' else. It adds a bit of oomph to the whole experience, makin' the music even more kickin'. And here's where things get real interestin' – when I hooked up my two Charge 5s with this BB3, they worked together like a well-oiled machine. The volume stayed consistent from half to two-thirds of the way up the scale, creatin' a real sweet audio ride. It's like this Boombox 3 transforms into a mighty subwoofer when it's teamin' up with the Charge speakers. The bass hits you in the gut, givin' ya a real feelin' like you're in the middle of a live concert. You gotta experience it to believe it, man. I like the sound on this one more than the others I'm testing. However, it came missing the end trim and speaker face. It looks like it was broke off then poorly repacked as it was not in the cardboard mount and just floating in a box with no other packing. The bass distorts about 1/3 volume even when using the app to lower the bass frequencies but sounds great below that. There was not a replacement trim or speaker available and replacement of the boombox is not available so I have to return and buy another. Return shipping was over $90 due to size and weight with proper packing. It looks like I have to pay for return shipping. My expense for the defect. Not a way to maintain a business relationship in my opinion. ... show more
