I don't usually leave reviews on things, but this portable speaker surpassed my expectations. I was in the market for a a good quality portable speaker and decided to try my luck on a higher end product. First thing I noticed upon unboxing was that the boombox has a bit of heft and weight to it. To me, this is good. It feels solid and like a premium product should. It's just the right size and weight to be considered portable to me as well. As soon as I hit the Bluetooth button, it showed up as discoverable on my phone. It connected immediately with zero issues. Once I started playing music on it, I was shocked at how much bass this thing can produce indoors, and how loud it can get. I'm a hifi sound guy and musician so my expectations were pretty low, but the sound is amazing. Cant wait to take this places. Extra cool that it came with a nice protective case too. ... show more

I've had the original JBL Boombox for 5 years and am still happy with it. I bought one for my son a year later and we've paired them up on family vacations. I bought my daughter a Boombox 2 that came out a couple years later. I could hear the better bass. Then the Boombox 3 came out and I read the glowing reviews. I bought a pair of them with included cases and love them! The bass goes lower and is substantially stronger now matching the quality of the midrange and treble. They weigh more than the original Boombox or the Boombox 2. Another improvement is the elimination of the power brick that the previous two generations both have. The Boombox 3 just has a power cord from the wall to the back of the Boombox 3 to charge the 24 hour run time rated battery. My only negative is the footprint of the base of the Boombox 3 is smaller than the previous two generations so it rolls over easier when it's set on soft surfaces. ... show more

I like the portability, connectivity & durability. The best part is the sound quality & the battery charge that last for so long. I'm a "Bose" guy but I'm so glad I tried this JBL Boombox 3. This is what I've been using @ home for now but looking forward to use this outdoor soon. I highly recommend this for any one looking for portable speaker. PPros: The sound projection is exceptional, delivering clear and powerful audio when volume is increased. The battery life appears to be sufficient based on usage. The bass is abundant - did I mention, abundant bass? Cons: The speaker is a bit heavy (great for a workout), and the bass can be overpowering at lower levels (could benefit from a bass reduction or adjustment feature). Bluetooth connectivity may drop when multiple speakers are linked, and the range is limited when connecting two speakers in party mode. It can only be charged using a 110 home plug, not in the car. In conclusion: I would consider repurchasing this speaker for outdoor parties. ... show more

Cuando hice el trámite de la compra no encontré la información sobre el peso …….. y guauuuu qué sorpresa , $149 de envío de Miami a Costa Rica por casi 30 libras de peso !!!!!! Vaya En lo personal no necesito moverlo mucho y yo diría que su peso lo vale en calidad de sonido Sugerencia para los futuros modelos en ocasiones se hace necesario un control remoto para modificar el volumen. Sería muy útil una barra más explícita, para conocer el estado de carga de la batería. Yo sí recibí el estuche tal cual la promoción!!!!
