I’ve had the JBL Charge 4 for 2 years and that little speaker packs a huge punch. But it was getting tired of 100% volume for 8 hours every day. So I opted for this monstrosity, got it for $250 on sale, and I’ve been playing it at 80% volume for 8 hours a day for about 5 months now. I love it, I’d highly recommend this to anyone who doesn’t mind the large size and heaviness. I personally don’t mind that part. The bass is unreal even at full volume. Any song I play on the boombox sounds better than the $600 sound system in my truck with doors closed! Battery lasts about 12 hours at near full volume, that’s a win for me. This could be used as a weapon if needed, as it would seriously hurt if swung at someone because it’s 40 pounds. I absolutely can’t say enough good things about this speaker. The only downside is if you have other JBL speakers, check the Bluetooth adaptability because it does NOT pair with my Charge 4. It would be nice if I could leave one inside and one outside, but it’s not the end of the world because I can hear the Boombox all across my 4000sqft work between walls and closed doors. Robust sound from a modest sized box, it’s portable about the size of an old 80’s boom box, but with much better sound quality. Excellent battery life. Connects seamlessly to blue tooth devices. I got this so that we could have fun music outside and it definitely does not disappoint! The base on this is amazing and it’s so light and easy to carry and the kids have had so much fun using it, as well as us adults. We will use it on our boat because it’s better than the boat stereo !

This boombox produces good sound as you would expect from JBL. I bought this in hopes of getting more bass than some of the smaller portable speakers. The boombox itself gets loud, but the bass doesn’t hit as hard as I’d like. I like the idea of being able to connect it to other JBL speakers. I’ll probably try to find a subwoofer or other JBL speaker that has the party feature to increase the bass I get. And it is bigger and heavier than I expected. It is definitely not light and portable enough to carry in luggage when traveling. Also, there doesn’t appear to be a way to adjust the sound settings like bass and treble. ... show more
