    • The bang for the buck is outstanding!
I've purchased several component speaker sets in this price range and I'm tempted to replace every one of them with these JBLs. These things sound so much better than the others it's almost embarrassing. You're not going to get audiophile-quality sound in this price range, but these are close enough for my ears. Plus, since they're 3 ohm impedance, they push your amp a little harder and you can get more power out of it than a typical 4 ohm set. Big mid-bass, clear but not harsh tweeters... they're great. Also, I'd 100% recommend putting an amp to these. The built-in amp that your radio has just isn't going to do them justice. I have one of the Soundstream Picasso Nano 5-channels pushing these, the matching 2-ways, and a little 6.75" Kicker sub in my beater Honda Element and it sounds so good you'd swear there had to be more to the system than that. ... show more

    • Phenomenal sound for this price range
Very good sound quality! Various mounting options for the tweeters, but directions for mounting are pretty non-existent. Running about 75 watts to each side, clean power. No fatigue over extended usage. Highs are phenomenal, not tinny, and not too bright.

It is extremely important to allow these speakers atleast a week for them to show what they are and what they can do before you form an opinion about their overall quality. I did not do this before I made my prior review and I couldnt have been more wrong. Bottom line is these are the best component speakers especially for the money that I have ever heard especially without amplification. You honestly dont need an amp. Their high sensitivity level allows them to be paired with a stock or afternarket headunit without missing a thing. This allows an individual a lot of flexibility when its time to install their sub and eliminates the time needed if you needed to wire them to an amp to achieve an optimal level of sound quality. Im telling you you dont - I have them unamplified to my 2004 honda civc lx stock headunit and the stock rear speakers that cam with the car and my amp hasnt left its box. Buy these speakers.
