  • Well-made and easy to use

This is an excellent product. It’s made of quality material and it’s easy to use. It will attach to a variety of routers. Perfectly sized holes every time. Just remember to account for the size of your router bit! 😀

It's worth it to spend the money instead of getting a knockoff--it's so easy to use and highly accurate cuts

  • Simple, easy to use, works well

The Jasper jig is a bit confusing looking at first (quite a few holes), but just take a few minutes to read the instructions on the back, locate the mounting holes for your router, and then match the holes to your router base. I quickly and easily mounted it on my DeWalt plunge base and used the supplied 1/4" pin to center the jig. I used the jig to cut four 8" circles in 3/4" maple ply. The jig was easy to use and produced clean perfect circles. I started with a Freud 75-102 1/4" bit, thinking the 1/4" bit would be easiest and best to use with the jig (since that is what it is designed for). While it worked, the noise and vibration coming from the bit made me go slow, since I've read several reviews about broken 1/4" bits. After cutting two circles, I replaced the bit with a Freud 75-104 with a 1/2" shank. Because it is a 5/16" bit, I moved the jig pin down two holes to decrease the diameter by 1/8" to compensate for the bit. The 1/2" shank was quieter, smoother, cooler, and cut much faster and easier. I would definitely recommend going with a 1/2" shank bit and adjusting the template rather than using a 1/4" shank bit. It's very easy to compensate for the larger bit diameter. The jig worked great and produced perfect results. MUCH better than the other techniques I was considering. EDIT: One detail that I forgot to mention--when finishing the circle, I would recommend going slow and being extra careful. When the circle is done and completely cut, the center pin can move (obviously), and thus the jig is no longer controlling the router. I tried to be fairly careful, but on two of my circles, the router bit brushed the outer edge of the circle, making a small indent. Not a big deal for my project, and once the spot is sanded it is less visible, but if you are looking to make a 100% absolutely perfect circle, end the cut slowly and carefully, and turn off the router immediately. ... show more

  • Just buy the Pro, and don't bother with this..
Item Package Quantity: 1
Wish i had bought the Pro, and immediately regretted my decision to buy this after cutting just 4 holes in some 3/4 mdf as it's already cracking. The pro is polycarbonate, where this is acrylic. The acrylic immediately started cracking at the mounting locations from the stress of moving around a router that you cannot easily remove by design. Perhaps this might be appropriate for a small trim router, but why even bother if paying slightly more would give you the option for both. Not sure what Jasper was thinking... ... show more

  • Works as it should
Item Package Quantity: 1
To be honest, there's nothing amazing about this. If you take a fixed dimension and pivot it about a fixed point it will follow a circle. That's science; Jasper didn't invent that. There are cheaper ways of drawing and cutting circles and this guide is a little pricey but it works. You don't get infinite length adjustments as you could from an alternative method but, frankly, if 3-3/16" is too small for you and 3-1/4" too big you're over thinking your project. It's nice to have the measurements right there on the guide of course but pay attention to the lines especially at the smaller diameters. And remember it's calibrated for a 1/4" bit. My photos also show a counter bore which I did (first) with a 3/4" straight flute having made an adjustment to the measurement. It set up on my Dewalt 618 quickly. The pivot pin is really tight in the guide which it needs to be but I worry about damaging the surface when I have to use pliers to remove it. The only issue I've had on my first project is that the pivot pin fell out of the guide and inside the pivot hole of my piece. You get two lengths of pin so you need to pay attention to how deep you drill. If you're doing a lot of work in different thicknesses it might pay you to get more pins of different length. If you're working on a narrow piece like my photos show pay attention to the guide swinging around and nipping the power cord or vacuum hose against the work piece. That'll stop you! As for cutting procedures and tips I think that's beyond the scope of this review. The guide helps you to make circles with a router. That's all. It doesn't do the cutting. ... show more

Accurate, easy to use, but didn’t come with the pin that it’s should have come with. My package was open when it got to me. Simple mistake. Luckily i had one that fit. But don’t let it stop you from ordering. You won’t be disappointed.
