I had never had a lava lamp before so I wasn't sure what to expect. My apartment tends to be really cold (55-60F) and the instructions said that the lamp might not work in those conditions. The first five uses were not pretty, either the coil floated up or it didn't heat up enough and there'd be weird snake-like wax blobs floating around. However, after about a week of just turning it on for 6-8 hours and letting it do its thing, the lamp started working perfectly. I use it as my nightlight every day. The lava lamp I got is great, looks nice, and is what I wanted as a kid, but I'm an adult now and can use my money how I please. In a side note my bulb came damaged, the filament was disconnected due to rough handling by amazon. Upon contacting amazon they told me to replace the entire thing, but I pushed on and asked to talk to the company directly since it was just the bulb, on the seller page you can contact Jambo directly and they instantly offered to send me replacement bulbS free of charge, which is what I kept arguing with amazon customer support about, they're a lava lamp company of course they sell and have replacement bulbs. I just wanted to let yall know that these are good people, and I very much enjoyed my service with them, and love watching my lava lamp gloop away next to my monitor. ... show more

The bulb it came with didn't work so it took another few days for it to work (itight be because it was wrapped as a gift for a month before we tried to use it). We got 4 bulbs for 8 $ and it is lovely!

It's so difficult to find blue lava lamps, so when I found this one, I knew I had to scoop it up. I'm in love with it, bottom line. I love the blue color of both the liquid and the lamp enclosure. As with all lava lamps, just looking at it for a few minutes seems to melt my worries away. But the blue color makes it so much nicer! The media could not be loaded. I followed the instructions to a T, and the wax never left the bottom of the lamp. I missed the Amazon return window, but I read another review that said the manufacturer was able to replace a non-working lamp within 1 year of purchase. I can not believe lava lamps are back but my grand daughter wanted one and she loves this one. It is very solid and she has knocked it off thr table and we have had no problems. It really lights up the room as night and it was not badly priced for what we got. It is a keeper at our house!
