Teh USB stuff was simple, it had not trouble running anything. Then I hooked up a 20 inch box fan running on high pulling 44 watts and it ran for over 4 hours. The shadow target helped but as you can see the panel wasn't positioned perfect. With the sun overhead I just laid the panel in the sun and it was charging at 88 watts. When plugged into 110 the unit only chargs at 78 watts. The 12 watt draw you see is from a vehicle fan plugged in the 12 volt outlet running on high. The props on the back of the pamels may be OK but I can see them wearing out over time. The magnets used to close the panels are great. The LCD display is exactly whats neede as well so there's no question as to what is going on. Taking this camping on an island with plenty of sun is going to be great. One thing to note; when you are charging, either with 110 or the solar panel, somewhere after it reaches 90% the input watts will start dropping. When the charge reaches 100% the input watts will be 0. Keep that in mind if you're using the input watts display to position the panels. When I first hooked up the panel the battery was 98% charged and it only registered 20 watts input making me think it wasn't working. ... show more

When you're deciding if 293 Watt-hours are enough, you should know that the user manual says you should recharge soon once you reach 20% battery left, and completely stop use at 15%. That means you're really only playing with 220 - 234 Wh. That's perfect for my needs (portable astrophotography), but that might not be enough for you. ... show more

This battery backup will be able to power my S10 CPAP using a 12v DC KFD adapter for 2 nights before needing recharged. Bought the KFD DC Adapter for ResMed S9 Series CPAP and BiPAP Machines on Amazon at the KFD store.

Very disappointed with the explorer 300. Let’s start with the 300 itself, It showed up with a 43% charge and I charged it to 100% rather quickly with ac charger, charged my ipad and iPhone and ran it down to 52% and they both charged rather fast but the 300 would not except a charge at this point, charged a few more things and got the battery down to 22% and it would charge again. After proving out the device will not charge when the battery is above 50% is either a defect or flaw to me as my plan was to use camping with a solar charger. As for the solar panel, when I opened it did not resemble any of the panels they show online and very disappointed with the cloudy screen on it. As for what it should handle the concept is great, 2 usb ports, 1 usb c port, 2 ac ports, the cigarette lighter adapter, ac charger, and solar panel charger are a great way to use this. Unfortunelty for $500.00 this battery did not hold a charge long at all, and the inability to re-charge the battery when above 50% to top it off is extremely disappointing. The bottom line i could not find the value of this item at it’s price point and it has been returned. ... show more
